This is the best video on fitment I have yet seen. I have long respected Russell's approach to boot and shoe making and aspire to one day own a pair of your fine footwear.
Luke, the way you have your boots laced is kind of the traditional way of lacing which is up and over. When the are laced this way and you pull the laces tight and turn the laces loose they will loosen back a little. If you lack the first pair of eyelet like you have but lace the next eyelets over the top and up the rest of the way then when start pulling slack and lightning going up then as you pull slack then the lacer will stay tight and not loosen. Jack
I want a pair of Russell's badly but I get one word responses from their customer support which hurts my confidence in buying their product online. It doesn't keep me from checking their newsletters/emails & site weekly for what's in-stock. Keep the YT content coming!
Dont buy any Russell’s that have a heel counter, theirs are terrible and don’t break in. Their safari style without heel counters aren’t too bad. But with Russell’s, if they don’t fit perfectly, without any hotspots, etc send them back. The leather will break in with respect to bending your foot and ankle, but they will not stretch or adapt to your foot-EVER. If they aren’t perfectly comfortable out of the box, they will never be comfortable. Good luck. (and yes I have been buying and wearing SOME Russell’s for 4 years now).
I have multiple boots from them. Never anything but good experiences. Granted I drive to their business and they take care of me there. Well worth the price.
What is that pacific fold for? Seems like you are sacrificing coverage of the tongue! Why not just put the excess off to each side to catch debris etc?!!
I want a pair of your oneidas and bird shooters but the sizing of your footwear is quite confusing. I wear Allen Edmonds dress shoes in 9 3e and Alden boots in 8.5 ee/eee so I’d think RM would be in 8.5 ee or so but after trying the scanning size feature, I was assigned a size of 8 e. I’m so confused what to believe given that my AE and Alden sizes are based off the brannock device.
Try our sizing scan tool. Its extremely accurate and a whole lot better than me guessing based on another company’s lasts. The tool is on all product pages.
Why don’t shoe companies just build boots to the brannock measurements? Cracking nuclear code is easier than buying a pair of footwear that fit properly. Standardized industry, far to simple.
From the outside it can seem simple, but footwear fit is not just about length and width, its about volume. Unless you can standardize the last itself and its shape/volume, footwear designed for different purposes will always fit differently.
@@w.c.russellmoccasinco Ok so that’s interesting, and something I hadn’t considered. I ordered a pair of premiere build backcountry four weeks ago after having my feet measured, and using the online device. I’m confident I’ll like the boots, thanks.
I like to see y'all having a presence on TH-cam.
Thanks! We are certainly working on it!
i have a pair of Russell boots i purchased in 1971 - still functional boots.

Love your boots!
I’m about to pull the trigger on a pair. Was happy to see this link.
Very good-looking boots! Also, some excellent tips about lacing and tongue and feet placement.
What's the deal with the "Pacific Northwest fold"?

Why did you discontinue the Thula Thula boots?
Wish to have those boots.

Would you recommend doing the pacific fold on the PH model
Thanks
I do. The side tuck works good, especially with a tongue saver/kiltie but a fold does a great job of keeping the sides from
pinching.

I'm pretty sure it keeps the sides from pinching your shin by keeping the tongue thicker and creating a more snug fit.

How do they size? I wear 10.5 d in Redwings Iron Ranger and Moc Toe. I wasn’t to pull the trigger on the Earl Shaffers 75th anniversary boot
I’m on the same boat as you. I have 10D in Red Wing Moc Toes and I have no idea which size should I go for..

@@w.c.russellmoccasincoused the scan tool. Seems off. It sized me 7.5D. My brannock is 8.5EE. brooks running shoes 9wide. PNW boots 7.5EE.
@@drhientran It also sized me a full size down from my brannock.

Its not a standard issue every style will have a different fit
god i want a pair do you ship to england?
Sure do!
Usually, it’s your toes that are the widest part of your foot, not the ball
If you are a duck, then yes ;)

We do. Contact our customer service team via email if you have issues

My friend left a message on your answering machine over a week ago. He was ready to buy but he had a sizing question and he hasn’t gotten a response
We have been in the middle of moving buildings and the phones were out all of last week. Please ask your friend to reach out by email.
they make good boots but narrow
Are these made to be worn with BOOT SOCKS? Serious question.🙏🏽
Great boot! Way to expensive for the average joe! Rich people get everything in life from head to toe! = life sucks
