James, I wanted to take a moment to provide some feedback on the two books I recently purchased from you, "Blues Licks" and "Rock Licks" Firstly, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the valuable content you've shared in these books. They have been instrumental in helping me improve my guitar skills, and I can't thank you enough for your dedication and hard work. I absolutely love your "Blues Licks" book. The way you presented the material, with a collection of licks integrated into a single solo, was incredibly effective for me. It not only helped me learn individual licks but also gave me a better understanding of how to use them in the context of a song. I found that approach particularly helpful for memorization and practical application. Regarding the "Rock Licks" book, while the content is fantastic, I noticed that many chapters present isolated licks without integrating them into a larger context. For me, this made it a bit challenging to remember the licks effectively. I wonder if, in the future, you might consider incorporating the same approach you used in the blues book, where you group several licks into one solo. I believe this would greatly enhance the learning experience and make it even more enjoyable. Additionally, I'd like to suggest that your instructional videos, which you share on the book, could benefit from a format that aligns with your youtube content. It would be immensely helpful if the videos followed the same structure as youtube, where you demonstrate the licks in the video and provide the corresponding tablature within the same video. This would make it much easier for learners like myself to follow along and apply what we've learned directly. Once again, I want to emphasize that I'm a huge fan of your work and the knowledge you've shared through your books and videos. Your dedication to helping aspiring guitarists like me is truly commendable, and I am grateful for the impact it has had on my playing. Thank you for considering my suggestions, and I look forward to continuing my journey of learning from your expertise. Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the future.
Hi there, and thanks for watching. I'm really happy that you've found the books so useful - that's brilliant! I appreciate your points about the rock book - the idea is really to give you a huge vocabulary or short usable phrases to work into your playing and sure, maybe a couple of solo studies would have been something i could have worked in there. Perhaps a book of sample rock solos would remedy this - now there's an idea! Anyway, I'm happy that the books have helped you so much, thanks for reading and catch up again soon. Cheers! James
Hi James. I might have to pick up the new book, I really enjoyed the older ones. Thanks for the lessons
Thanks for watching. Yeah, check out the book you might find it helpful. I've been using it myself and finding it lots of fun!
