I’m only 18 and learning the guitar during this quarantine, and was looking into a lot of older music lately. I found this song like a week ago and thought it would be so cool to play on the guitar. Isn’t that just convenient!!
I love seeing him play it because he looks happy doing it . He’s not just teaching it because it’s requested but he’s playing it like he loves it and it shows his passion for this kind of music
Let's go Marty 2 million subs in my eyes rolling stone magazine should make room for you in the 100 greatest guitarist of all time list because how many people you inspire and teach you deserve it!
I don’t know about being in the 100 greatest of all time….. BUT, I do think he should be on the top 100 most influential guitarist of all time! How many guitar guys haven’t learned at least one song from him? I don’t know any!
Yesss!! If you could do “you can close your eyes” by James Taylor that’d be great. They played it at both my grandpas funerals and it’d really touch me if I could learn it. Anyway thanks Marty!!
Bro, for starts, perfect video. Short, sweet, and to the point. You made it insanely easy! Secondly, your “mokayy?!” at 5:12 was hilarious!! Keep it going man! You’re awesome!! 😁🤙🏻🤙🏻
Hey Marty! I started playing guitar just a month or 2 before quarantine started and it’s been so awesome to have all your videos to help me keep learning and have so many songs to learn. So thanks to you!

Great song! Memories of Boss Radio KYNO-Fresno 1971!!
I want to cry cause I don't get the strumming pattern, I thank God you did this tutorial about 10 years ago and you wrote the strumming down, btw thank you I want to learn how to play this song 😘
Been waiting for you to update this for a long time, thanks man! Been following you around for a while, this was one of the first songs I looked up way back when. Time to revisit. Cheers!!
MARTY YOURE THE MAN I JUST FOUND THIS CHANNEL AGAIN AFTER YEARS BRO AND WAS HOPING I LD GET TO LEARN THIS ONE FROM YA!!!! SOO MUCH LOVE TO YOU BROOOOOO🤍🤍🤍
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!❤️ Thanks Marty. I grew up w/ Cat Stevens too😊 How’s about some Peter Frampton? His music was great too. Do you - Do YOU? feel like I do????
1976, on the grassy quad in front of dorms at UNM, I played and sang this song and a couple of very cute girls said they couldn’t believe how much I sounded like Cat! Big boost to my ego! I, of course, went straight into Moon Shadow!
Absolutely fantastic lesson Marty, and thank you so much I’ve always wanted to try and play this song. I know how I’m going to be spending the rest of my day. Have you ever done a tutorial on Father and Son - my favorite Cat Stevens song!
Mr. 2 Million... You are the best teacher ever!!!!!!!!! I know what I'm talking about. I'm 6? and know a few teachers. I love Cat. Perhaps next time Tea for Tillerman... Or... Or... Or..
Watching you has really inspired me to want to learn how to play, n I was wondering if you could do a tutorial to never going back again by fleetwood mac
I’m new to the channel and love you’re videos, me and my dad are trying to learn ‘cat Stevens- father and son’ and can’t find a decent video anywhere, would love for you to do a cover/ lesson as we follow a lot of your videos to learn. Loving your videos and will always recommend, keep it up
I really hope someone (or marty) sees this comment and can help me out. I started guitar 2 weeks ago and can play chords fluidly but really wanna play cat stevens. Father and son is the easiest for me but chord transitions are the hardest thing for me. I practice for about 1-2 hours a day. How long would it take me to master this song with how fast you have to change chords? Am i looking at 3 months or a year? Should i get a lesson?
You are amazing thanks Marty! I really love Cat/Yusuf Stevens. Can you also add 'Lady D'arbanville' and 'Sing Out' from him? And I'm a huge fan of you keep on shining!
Thanks for watching! Also I have a bunch of FREE courses that can help you at my site www.MartyMusic.com
Love of my life by Queen. Pretty please, I'd greatly appreciate it.
