A good video if your banshee mechanic. What do I do with those things on my carbs? What cable goes where? What do I take off what stays? Other than drill and tapping that hole this was a carb cleaning video, to me. I did get the part about grinding the boss down so the needle would reach.
Just got a banshee and am very good with engines but your videos still help a lot. You gotta slow down a little though lol.. you have parts and stuff flying all over, it isn't a race haha.. jk, thx for the videos.
My only question is why does everyone ignore the main nozzle when ripping down bamshee carbs? Typically found to be fine? I only have ever worked on my own machine. My 98 sat for 4 years with full bowls (fogged and did the rest, dropped the ball here) . I use the same dip and it works very well however with out removing the nozzles and brushing/ poking the holes mid may be way off. I'd also not tap and drill with them in place -for my own comfor-t it's all out after and not hung in a hole (Unreasonable fear tho). Past all that, great how too and awesome support you bring the shee community! Huge respect.

buddy need help i removed the lid of airbox, banshee has: Fmf exhaust, Shaved .030 head, Vforce 4, Timing to +3, Cyl's Bored to .020, Mains jets 300, Pilots 27.5, Screw 1 1/2 turns out, At sea level this setup is before removed the lid, now that i removed need to change some? mains? pilots? or airscrew turns out?

NEVER use a grinding wheel on soft alloy metals (Aluminum, Magnesium, etc..), the metal loads up in the stone and causes it to overheat and they can EXPLODE. Look it up
Great video....one question. Did the tors delete exactly as shown, synced carbs and adjusted thumb throttle. Have air screw set at 1.5 turns out from lightly seated, idle screw set at 2.5 turns out from touching slides. Quad starts on first kick almost every time, will idle pretty descent for about 6-8 seconds then gradually the idle will increase until revving very high to the point I have to shut it done. What did I miss?
Jimmy Moates Sorry so late. It sounds like your air mixture is a little bit lean. Close the air screws half turn at a time until the problem is gone. Let me know what happens.
South Texas Banshee Thanks for the response sir. Have tried several adjustments on the air screw. Can’t seem to find the sweet spot. The idle is perfect, purrs like a kitten. But when I give it throttle to take off in 1st gear it bogs down and has no power at lower rpm. Revving to take off it still bogs when clutch engages. Have rode it for a few minutes, once in 2nd 3rd and so on it runs pretty good. Doesn’t seem to matter the air screw adjustment, just no power in 1st. Only mod is FMF pipes, motor and carbs are bone stock.
Jimmy Moates Sounds like your gonna need the 6 groove needles. Bet that fixes you right up. Run them in 4th from top. They’re available from Toomeyracing.com Just get the needles alone. Not the “perfect jet kit”

The way it works: If the brain box ever detects the slides uneven and or throttle closed and one or both slides open it kills the ignition system, it interprets it as "throttle hung open" If slides ever get bad enough out of synch or on the borderline, intermittent spark can occur or the rev limiter can be activated because the brain box isn't sure what exactly is going on. This can also happen if the system simply malfunctions. This is the reasoning for deleting the TORS system.
what happens if I don't have the splash guard will it cause any problems? I have a stock setup only t5 with 290 main 25 pilot and tors delete can't get it to idle needle clip is in the middle position? any advice?
Seam Lessny Splash guard won't cause that. It just keeps the carbs from flooding due to fuel slosh on rough terrain. Do you have tors delete on your bike?

at sea level 310 main, 30 pilot an really need a 6 clip needle, like from dyno jet, Alba,or Toomey set at 4th from top. if you have a stock needle use 3rd clip bit will be lean in midrange.

Seven Could be a number of things Dirty pilots/carbs Leaky exhaust flange o ring or coupler Or even hole in pipe. Bad plugs Bad coil wires and or boots Carbs not in synch possibly a reed issue Just have to start at the easy and work your way through.

hi could u tell me how I can pout a brke light on my banshee I've get the tail light working and no plate light but can't get brake light on or even know ware to start I've boght a rear brake switch but don't know ware to plug in any idea thanks
stephen steadwood you will need to splice into the yellow wire coming from the stator, go to the switch, then out of the switch to the brake light..you will need a 02-06 brake light with 3 wires.
I installed bigger Wiseco Pistons 66mm Diameter, install FMF pipes on the exhaust and also the tors delete kit. I live in el paso with 3700 feet above sea level. I haven't be able to set my carbs with the correct main and Pilot jets. Can you please help me with the main and pilot jets I may require and the neddle position. Thanks!!!!!
1991tommygun I know right. Missed the most important thing. TORS brain needs to be unplugged. That will disable the TORS system. Need to redo this video.
