World Aligned Texture Setup In Unreal Engine 5

  • In this video I go over how to setup a world aligned material in Unreal Engine 5. This is useful in a variety of ways when texturing a scene, whether it be because your UVs are having issues being aligned, you want to scale your assets randomly, or you just want two different meshes to blend seamlessly.
    Hope this is helpful and let me know down below if you have any questions or any suggestions for future videos!

    was getting really annoyed with how many tutorials were just telling me to manually change the tiling for every object. this is seriously a god send

    thank you so much, this was so helpful for me! before i was only using the 2 coordinates of absolute world position, and i was getting the stretching on the sides, but with this there's no stretching. thanks again!!

    I can’t express how helpful this was! Honestly I’ve been trying to find out how to scale my textures properly for so long. I don’t know if I was doing something wrong on the other tutorials I’ve seen but they never really worked that well for me. So I’m so glad you made this video. thank you!!

    Very informative. Thank you Peyton. How does one accomodate UE5.3 Displacement whereby you need the RGB for Ambient Occlusion, Roughness & Displacement respectively with the latter also needing a Displacement Strength Parameter. In other words you cannot convert that texture to a Texture Object because you lose the separate RGB outputs...

    Is this still useful with the new tiling and material adjustments nodes that we see on the new Quixel materials?
    I can't seem to find a way to apply world alignments to these new setups.

    What do I have to do to make this work if I am using an ORM packed texture? I am using three textures: base color, normal, and ORM (R- ambient occlusion, G-roughness, B- metallic).

    if you want to do the same with pixel art texture use the worldAignedTexture_SeparateChannels versions (the texture have to be paper2d)

    • @PeytonVarney
      @PeytonVarney  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if the textures are brought in to unreal as targas and normal textures, then you should be able to right click the texture when its in the graph and change it to a texture object. Try doing it in the graph itself. Hope this helps!

    • @PeytonVarney
      @PeytonVarney  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You hold 1 while left clicking and it makes a 1 constant that you can then plug into your tiling setup
