You know whats so cool about this music video besides the genuinely amazing piece of art he just sang? In a time where it was the cool thing to act like you're not having fun (and its still probably that way nowadays) this guy is having an absolute blast doing this video. He cracks a huge smile on many occasions in this video. I absolutely love that. So many people try to act so serious. Hes just out there having the time of his life.
@Alan Jackson Hello Alan, I am not really into country music, but I have a karaoke hobby, and a bartender got up and sang this song. It is so upbeat and optimistic, no matter how you felt when you walked in, you're in a good mood after hearing this. I am going to try to sing this myself next time I'm out. I want to thank you for taking the time to reply here personally. From one singer to another, I wish you all the best. Robert
Love this song - not just about Georgia but the entire rural America! Also, if you help a turtle across a road- put where its headed and not where it came from- instinct is what guides it and it'll just turn around and get back on that road if you reverse its course! But dang I have always loved this AJ tune. And the hootch flows just a few miles from our house!🇺🇸
Thanks for the tip on the turtle, I always put it in the direction which it is going in a forested area. I helped a small turtle cross a road about a year ago. My friend helped too. She was driving. I have helped snapping turtles but they are harder to pick up. I don't drink though, no thank you. I love this tune because it helped me advocate against date rape in my high school. Because she wasn't ready and he didn't rape her, he took her home instead and then got himself a burger and went to the river instead of deciding to rape the girl he was making out with. So the bullies in my school who were rapists also did not have anyone telling them it was wrong but I could walk down the halls singing this song and tell them me and Alan Jackson think its wrong, so not just me. Better not to hurt girls and make them bleed a lot and give them ptsd for being abused by rape. Just go get yourself a veggie burger and chill by the river. 😇 And then just get married and save your virginity for Jesus (even if you're a guy).

Essa música fez parte da trilha sonora de uma novela daqui do Brasil, que se chamava “América” exibida em 2005. O tema da novela era sobre rodeios, festa Country, fazenda...abraços do Brasil hermano 🇧🇷🇦🇷
I’m not a huge country fan BUT I do enjoy all music including country music. This is definitely one of my favorite songs. Hard to not get hyped and uplifted when listening to this especially with the music video.
Is it true he just passed away? I saw a post on FB about it. Edit- nevermind. False alarm (I think). I looked it up and found nothing. Just another fake claim on social media smh..
I'm a 2001 kid and I love it. Country music has gone downhill, I listen to some 2000s music, but by amazing luck this song was on the radio. I like Hank Willams Sr. to the 2000s, 2005 is my limit. After 05' country music lost its identity with Florida Georgia Line, Zac Brown Band, Taylor Swift, Big & Rich, and Blake Sheldon. I could go on and on listing bad country music artists, but I would really rather not. The sub group called "Bro Country" circa 2010, that shit happened when Florida Georgia Line released their song called "Cruise"
Country Music has no age limit! I grew up in a musical, Mom played guitar, Uncle Banjo, Aunt and Grandma banjo also! All neighbors brought their instrument and sang an danced to fiddles, banjo, guitar! I grew up in the best of times! Country is for all ages! Enjoy!

For anyone wondering why the Brazilian comments it’s because Alan Jackson has done a few concerts in Brazil with a singer named Leonardo who is basically the Garth Brooks of Brazil.
I'm brazilian and I used to dance this song at school at the event we call festa junina, a country party. And I think a lot of people have also danced.
I remember when this song came out on the radio 95.5 was the station. I was working with my Dad at the time in Las Vegas. I remember really liking this song and I still do! This is American music at its best!
I went on the Carnival Jubilee cruise this past week. & our first dinner was at the pacific restaurant, & whenever they had their showtime this song played. It was quite an experience that night.
Man, nothing screams the 90s louder than neon striped life jackets, jet ski gear, and mullets. I’d do anything to go back to that decade. Both my parents were still alive and married (rip dad).
RIP they had a good life hopefully and raised you to be the man you are today so always keep that in mind and carry their life lessons with you until you can pass them on ❤️
Keep in mind that who you are is all the flaws and people you are today. You can't actually go back in time because that involves you losing memory and experience.

Jesuuuuus!
To the Chattahoochee, best darn place to be positive y'all!🎉
13 years later. This video still gets comments. I WAS 5 WHEN THIS WAS POSTED. Now I can drive... and am graduated from school... And Alan's songs helped me through the rough times and sparked the good ones.
Amen brother. I was 2 when this was posted and still get on here and listen to it weekly. I love it so much. Classic country and any older country is the best.
Definitely bro...this is a classic 🎶🎶🤘🤘🤘
I wasn't even born when this song was released
And to think it came out 16 years before it was posted!
Still don’t have a plan & still living for the minute. 🐚 13 years later. Sending love from South Florida
Physically I'm here,
mentally I'm way down yonder on the Chattahoochee.

This is the quintessential 90’s country song!
This song will never get old!
Is it true he just passed away? I saw a post on FB about it.
Edit- nevermind. False alarm (I think). I looked it up and found nothing. Just another fake claim on social media smh..
@@Ben6Strings that's all the media is, lies.
CTC lol
This is the country music that I grew up with. I am a 90's kid. Long live country music.
I'm a 2000 kid and country music is my favorite type of music
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
Me too & I love this lol!! I blast it in my car daily!’

Awesome song !!!
My late husband was a line dance instructor, simply a hobby that he took very seriously. We danced a dance called the Sweetheart Schottishe to this song, it was a fantastic workout.

For anyone wondering why the Brazilian comments it’s because Alan Jackson has done a few concerts in Brazil with a singer named Leonardo who is basically the Garth Brooks of Brazil.
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I WAS curious about that. That’s cool.😎❤️
and once brasilians find a musician, they take over lol! never underestimate the power of a brasilian audience
I'm brazilian and I used to dance this song at school at the event we call festa junina, a country party. And I think a lot of people have also danced.
What’s the Brazilian guy’s full name?

90s country music baby 👌💓 !!
Let’s gooooo 🔥
Man, nothing screams the 90s louder than neon striped life jackets, jet ski gear, and mullets. I’d do anything to go back to that decade. Both my parents were still alive and married (rip dad).
RIP they had a good life hopefully and raised you to be the man you are today so always keep that in mind and carry their life lessons with you until you can pass them on ❤️
Keep in mind that who you are is all the flaws and people you are today. You can't actually go back in time because that involves you losing memory and experience.
Im sorry
Time marches on. Don't worry, it's all just one big carnival ride. Embrace the temporary aspect, all your mistakes and accomplishments matter nil.
