    Erik is an inspiration for most of the Industry, his attitude and resilience against the odds and big corporation game is greatly appreciated, I grew and had a s1 lightning, it was a revelation how a HD 1200 engine could be just a beast. HD missed it, now still misses it, the sound is gone for a puffpuff alphabet weak experience.

    I wish everyone could have the opportunity to ride one of his limited edition 1190RS Carbon Edition bikes. I’ve had mine for almost a year and even as an owner of current bleeding edge bikes, I shake my head every time I park it. It is one hell of a hairy motorcycle but in an oh-so-controllable way. You can’t believe how good it is as a basic motorcycle-it has no faults. Obviously, the motor dominates the riding experience but the chassis is on another level to my R1M. It feels like someone shoved a nuclear locomotive engine in a TZ250 and them set it up so perfectly that it doesn’t need electronics... my R1M leaves you with a heart in the mouth feeling when you step the rear end out on a corner exit, but the EBR has twice the midrange and has no drama at all when you end up sliding it in a corner.
    Just pure magic, and a bike that even starting it feels like an Event. There are still a few in the crate at much lower pricing than they originally sold for, if you ever wanted an AMA super bike with lights and a horn, this is your only chance-these bikes are so light that Buell had to make a 19lb lead ballast accessory you could bolt to the bike for it to be AMA legal because they are too light....

    Hero Blue XB9SX owner here.. most fun bike I’ve owned so far, beautifully engineered, surprisingly well built and easy to maintain. Harley could have opted to sell their ownership stake back to Erik and the company would have continued to thrive under new management, venture capital. Shutting down and gutting Buell “to focus on the core brand” was a totally unnecessary dick move that cost hundreds of jobs and forced Erik into the daunting task of starting from scratch all over again with EBR.

    • @captainamerica9353
      @captainamerica9353 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One of the reasons HD spent millions to shutter Buell, was to ensure the company would be completely liquidated. That way Erik and any investors couldn't buy it, nor could a competitor like Polaris.

    Always ridden and owned japanese motorcycles. Always loved them from my RGV to GSXR1100, TL1000S (still have these two). My uncle was upgrading his 04 Buell XB12R obviously to another Buell (in fact the 09 XB12R he loves the HD 1200 motor), he coaxed me into taking his 04 Buell xb12r for a test ride. We went for a ride and WOW it was like I was a kid again experiencing something new. The roll on torque, the bike's light weight, the stabilty at speed, the cornering ability and that unmistakable HARLEY DAVIDSON exhaust note (has an adrenline exhaust)is music for the soul. I was an instant fan after that ride and became the proud owner of this 04 Buell xb12r in early 2024.
    I had always known of Buell motorcycles and watched documentaries about Buell but until I rode one of his masterpieces that was the moment I understood the man and his passion behind the creation of these motorcycles. Thank you Eric for the passion you have had through your life to create a motorcycling experience that anyone can enjoy. A fan for life...

    Some of the best times I've ever had ripping the twisties and cloverleafing have been on Buell XB 9 and XB 12 R model bikes. Granted those bikes did not have the engines that these new EBR bikes have got where they can rev and compete in the topend speed with the European and Asian Supersport bikes ut my God if they didn't launch and pull like a scalded dog and handle like they were on rails. I have never ridden another production motorcycle that I could come out of a cloverleaf accelerating with it leaned 45 degrees and front end at 10 o'clock; yet feel totally in control. The way that Buell has engineered their chassis and stabilized these machines is nothing short of amazing. If you can perform great on an Eur-Asian machine you will perform like a grand-master on a Buell built machine I promise you.
    I never raced GP bikes professionally; however, I have been on bikes since I could balance on 2 wheels and love to go fast and push the limits of man and machine. Haven ridden just about every brand of sport bike in existence from 1986 to present day; IMO for handling Buell has to be the best I have had the pleasure to put to the test. My second favorite bike for twisties and street fighter styled riding would have to be the Triumph 675 Street Triple. Next to the XB-r and XB-S models it was the most flickable and exhilarating ride for canyons, back roads, and cloverleafing.
    Opinions vary and everyone has a personal preference but I would challenge them to ride a Buell and then reassess their feelings because there just isn't anything like it anywhere else. Glad to see Eric Buell making consumer bikes again and I am more than anxious to get my chance at an EBR Hammerhead 1190. Even at 50 years of age I can still appreciate a pulse pounding rip through the twisties just as much as I can a leisurely relaxed ride on a touring bike. Congrats to Eric and company you are truly an example of what is meant by living the American Dream.

    Much Love for Erik Buell and Buell bike and racing community. In my opinion Harley Davidson should have stayed faithful w the Buell team. I have always loved the bikes he’s designed and built, scince I saw my first lightning back in the 90s at my family’s mechanic shop, well before I was even of age to legally drive . The second bike I fell in love with several years later in my high school years was also a lightning and it was owned by a good friend of mine. An the 3rd Buell I’ve ever personally known and Love ❤️ ❤️is in my garage! 07XB9R Firebolt which Unfortunately I inherited it from my late brother. He rode the balls off of it on the daily for a few years before he suddenly passed in a car accident early one morning. Don’t get it twisted, I absolutely can’t imagine it being anywhere else, but that inherited part really fucking sucks. It’s been sitting in my mothers basement for years and just recently has been brought out and fuel drained and pump removed, I recently repaired the rear pegs. I am currently in the process of fixing the handle bars, blinkers and the fuel pump and trying to get it as clean as the day it left the showroom floor so hopefully one day I will be able to ride it again. An if not then I will ride it again anyways , it’s too badass not too

      Can you imagine if one of the big 4 had bought Buell and invested in them through the recession where Harley pulled the plug? If Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki or Honda purchased Buell for the soul purpose of using Buells engineering for their race bikes and they invested when Harley didn't, I bet Buell would be producing the best race bikes right now. Such a missed oppurtunity to really move forward with race bikes in my opinion.

      Sadly the then CEO didn’t understand Buell and killed it off (along with selling Mv Augusta) they could have kept them going as the last bikes were ahead of the game. They had replaced the sportster engine with a Rotax which was costing HD money but could have gotten more people through the doors as it was a very competitive bike .Sadly EBR went under 5 years ago there is talk that they will be making more bikes but Erik isn’t part of the company any more and the new company is trading on his name. He is now working on electric bikes (fuell) I wish him well.

    Na minha opinião o melhor projetista de motos da atualidade que o mundo não valoriza em especial a Harley Davidson que jamais conseguiu fazer motos esportivas como o Buell suas motos super modernas e inovadoras como o modelo XB12R de 2006 com um motor de 1200cc fornecido pela Harley Davidson projetou uma motocicleta notável em estrutura leve super esportiva a melhor motocicleta em curvas menor distância entre eixos de sua categoria melhor sistema de freios com peso potência incomparável até mesmo para a atualidade o que vemos para mim tem muito a ver com inveja e falta de respeito e reconhecimento de um grande talento de um grande mestre
