lucky me, I was at this show, brilliant night sky and these wonderful sounds at the end of the concert. If I could relive one day in my life it would be this one, cause it was just perfect. Found this masterpiece later in stores on the Fortune Faded-Single..so happy to have it, brings back very very good memories and gives me shivers everytime I listen to it :)
Brent Hogan Yeah I agree. John was experimenting with more classical guitar playing rather than funk guitar playing around this period and his tone just sounds so much cleaner and prettier.

WOW!! simply amazing song. type of song you listen to by yourself. Just sit back close your eyes and drift of in your thoughts. RHCP are masters of their craft. BEST BAND IN THE WORLD.
"Ekkehard Ehlers remixed the RHCPs' single Californication and collaborated with the band on a couple of their live sets. Two live recordings have been made called, Tuesday Night in Berlin and Thursday Night in Berlin. The 14 minute improvisation jam Tuesday Night in Berlin can be found on the second version of the RHCPs Fortune Faded single. The nearly 30 minute Thursday Night In Berlin has not been released officially although a bootleg has recently leaked onto the Internet." - Wikipedia

You lucky SOB! 🤘🏼
you lucky lucky extremely lucky you!
where was it?
Love this era of the Chili Peppers. Such a beautiful vibe and sound. John hits the best notes with the greatest grooves. Magical.

This was 2006 and not 2003, haha
@@CommonSenseless1993 agree.
John can make the simplest chord progression sound magical
@@readytorock1135 Nope - Fortune Faded came out in 2003 - this is a B side from one of those CD singles.
That sound used in total silence around 8:30 reminds me of the opening of Shadows collide with people!
That's right!
I love when Peppers are jamming!
Love the way John plays the bass... He's just incredible!
RickZanardi bass?
@@quintenfranks8024 John took over bass duties when Flea switched to trumpet.
Man, John did a great job on the bass towards the end. As long as it has strings, John can strum it and make some beautiful stuff.
@Tanguy Blanchard John is not a bass player tbh.

Listen to "Dark/Light" and then the fact that he wrote bass to "By the Way" album, and then tell me he's not a bassist too.

Everything that John touches, turns into something beautiful. Greatest musician of all time.

Love when John plays bass near the end, such a guitarists bassline , fuckin badass
Listen to him play the ending bass solo then on "Dark/Light" on a bass VI
John also wrote most of the bass parts for "By the Way" album too.

This is a collaboration with Ekkehard Ehlers. Theres another one called Thursday night in Berlin. Ehlers also remixed californication.

If flea is playing trumpet is that frusciante playing bass?!?!?!?!?!
Yes
If you could place huge speakers in every bigger town of the world and play this song, the world would become a better one.
woooow O.O such a nice sound ...
Magical
It sounds alot like the intro to californiacation when they play it at slane castle
Forever lovin John

Fake fans found this and disliked it

This was not on my fortune faded single. I'll have to catch up on it now. Was this the USandA version?

I wonder if that's Josh at the beginning, playing keyboards with effects. He's done a lot of tech stuff for them on tour in the past...
thegardenpear was likely Josh as he played backing guitars and synths etc around this time
It would be normally, but on this specific jam it’s a German experimental musician that John likes named Ekkehard Ehlers.
Sound8Vision is that who John gives a shoutout to at the end?
you can clearly hear that its a frusciante on a bass ;)
