Looks nice. Do you have a Amazon link for your J boxes and Electrical gear? Finishing my Pergola in El Paso but Born and Raised in Beaufort. That’s North East of your Longitude and Latitude, not South, lol.
@@silverpop2711 I’m going to give it a try. Plan right now is to have wire come out of post at top into the back of surface mounted box and then feed out from there. I am also looking at modifying the power bar that came with the unit. I took the back off and the bar itself is a separate unit within the housing; with a simple modification this could be reversed so the wire comes out the top of the unit straight up into an outlet in the rafters or cut plug off and run into a J box for a hardwired connection. I’d just want to figure out way to waterproof the (modified) wire entry at top of power unit so water doesn’t get it.
That’s awesome, let me know how it goes! Will have to look at the included powerstips, probably could add 1/2” plastic CGB’s and maybe a little silicone to make waterproof. Definitely like the idea of coming out of the top
Ran the wire today! Came out about 14” down from top off post. Prob could have gone a bit higher but wasn’t exactly sure where the hollow part ended on the shorter post. Overall I’m pleased with how it turned out. If I knew then what I know now, I probably would have drilled a hole down through the wood plug at the top of post to have the option of running wire right to top, coming out just under the rafter.

@@silverpop2711 Thank you Sir.
Great Job! I got mine up last weekend, very happy with it. Did you use the hollow posts as a wire chase as shown in Part 1 of your vids?
Not yet, still in progress though
