Kulas is more Filipino than many of us Filipinos. He has immersed himself in the daily life of ordinary Filipinos, even reaching far off islands like Tawi-Tawi where many of us don’t even consider visiting. Keep it up Kulas, you are doing a great job and service to your adopted country! God bless!
I love this kind of vlogs... raw and inspiring. Thank you for sharing with us your adventures in this remote, simple, peaceful and happy community. Well done Kulas and Kumar.
maraming pilipinos na hindi nakapag ikot sa pilipinas..isa na ako don..at masaya na ako makapanood sa travel blog mo sa buong pilipinas with your friend kumar good luck to explore the beauty of our country..
Kumar is always the plantito. 10:18 Interactions with children in the Philippines are always fun. They inevitably chase the drone as it flies away. They're so genuine! Fish are so plentiful in those waters, and so much diversity, too. Sobad 🤣Hahaha!
Hey, Kumar. Howdy? You said at the wedding, “He’s all yours, Therine”! The married Kulas is already out “gallivanting”, lol! Anyway, continue to enjoy the islands of my dreams.
Wow you’re back in Tawi tawi again Kulas so beautiful adventures take care and be safe both of you thank you for your hard work and exploring the Tawi Tawi Philippines and your so funny with the toy Pam boat and wow isda pa more 🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰👌👌👌
Definitely an area not explored by a lot of tourists. Great to see authentic island life of the locals there. It's crazy how some things are different but yet the same.
Wat a fantastic vlog Kyle and Kumar it's great to see two good friends having a good time together the Island looks amazing all the best to you both Michael from Scotland 🏴.
The vibes is actually so beautiful & super relaxing in that island, lots of fishes, clear water & friendly people. It’s good they maintain the cleanliness of the beach. Mapun island would be famous in the near future. Wherever Kulas & Kumar visited became famous right away. It’s like magic touch, whatever Kulas touches, definitely turns to gold! SUPERRR APIRRR JUD & ALWAYS POWERRR ONNN❣️Enjoy the adventure KulKumz❣️
Back in the 90s,Kyle in basilan same scenario with the way they sell fish,no kilos kilos very cheap. Thank you for sharing Kyle,it's just amazing living in an island. take care kulas and Power on!😊
Thanks for showing us the island of Mapun. Googled it and it is between Palawan and Borneo. But more closer to Borneo. The local kids love you for your openness. Keep going👍🏼👍🏼
I really miss mapun, i was only 8years old when I visited mapun with my parents now I'm 34. Sikub/sikob is my mom's place, and my father is from Tanduan. I was born and raised in Palawan and I'm in Sabah Malaysia right now.
I grew up on that island! I’m glad you featured the beautiful lakes and Manda’s Beach but how come you didn’t go to Yuri’s Beach. That beach is beautiful and clean, with tents and it’s also free. Karaoke is also available 😁
The "so bad" story is folk etymology. Sorry to disappoint, but it's not true. Heh. But it's almost believable because it's such a small island. The name likely originates from the way tunas are caught - with hook and line. This is reflected in Cebuano, where the word "subad" means "hook and line." The word likely became applied to the fish in Tausug (which is a Visayan language, even though it diverged culturally), and from there spread to neighboring languages. The names "subad" and "sobad" are also used in Maranao, other Sama languages, Chavacano, and Tausug for small species of tuna (usually _Euthynnus affinis,_ more widely known as tulingan, timbongan, or barilis in the Visayas).
I was expecting the island to be just Mapun, given how remote it is. But it's more diverse than I thought. Mapun, Sama Pangutaran, Chavacano, Cebuano...
This is a good sharing. Safe na ba talaga pumunta dyan medyo kabado ako sa bandang lugar na ganyan dahil sa mga news nanapapanood ko nuon sa tawi tawi. But then.. so happy for you naiikot nyo ang buong Pilipinas.. I am so happy for you both ni kumander Daot and Kumar. 🫡
Hi Kulas, I'd been following you for manny years now since your early stage of vlogging. I really admire your ways of featuring the kulture and the people, it's great! Keep up the good work!!! By the way "Sobad" is the same version of Tamilok (Tomie Look)😂😂😂 greetings from Europe.
15:42 That specific bangka design is called a Papet by the Sama in Basilan I think. It has a distinctive humpbacked gunwale to protect from wave splashes.

the sobad story reminded me of the tamilok worm as well. when foreign languages crossover they create funny stories of misnomers.
