Actually, part of the interview on that video speaks to a lot of the subject matter of this song, particularly where they speak about complete sacrifice for the work. That's what this song is about... Women sacrificing all for their work and not necessarily getting (or wanting) the fanfare for it
Yes Cleopatra, also Marie Curie. When you mentioned game of thrones, that was Joan of Arc. And the painter I've seen commented as either Frida Kahlo (Tati is a fan of hers), or Georgia O'Keeffe. Loving this song. Yeah, starts out with a good bit of clean vocals before getting to the harsh. In that respect this song reminds me of "Wallflowers" and "Vortex". They were all 'nasty' , all 4 of them.🤘🤘. Description say that this is "only just a tease of what’s to come very soon". Heard the new album is done. Looking forward to more. Hope you get to see them in concert. Not coming close enough to me to get to one.
Go see Jinjer. Seeing them live in Harrisburg, PA and Baltimore, MD in small rooms. They are fantastic live. They are also playing another new song, called Fast Draw, on their most recent sets. 100% harsh v❤❤ocals and a brutal song. Go see them live. They are better live than in the studio. Cheers.
There are scant few bands I would say this about right now, but GO SEE THEM LIVE - they are tremendous. If you have a chance to see them up close at a smaller venue right now, stretch yourself to make that happen.... you won't regret it! ;)
She is such a bad ass. I saw them last November at a small club in New Haven and it was the best show I've ever been to. They sounded so good. Vlad is the best drummer that no one knows of.
The women she portrays in the video are Marie Curie, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, and Frida Kahlo. The lyrics are amazing: You teach me how to be a man, Though I am someone’s daughter. The path of warrior was set for me And I had to try on the armor. No it doesn’t suit me And it feels so heavy! I’m frightened And so ashamed. That I have to combat the world alone, That I have to swing my sword alone. So my gentleness is turned into rigidity. And once soft the skin is nothing but the scale. One by one I lead unequal fights, eventually The beauty’s nose is broken, and I faint Life feeds me bullets and stones And I stitch myself up alone. If I cry I will run my tears Inside of my blood-stained cheeks. I’ve found talents beyond comprehension, All my battles are a sight to behold. Wading through the hardship alone Translating my body to soul! Oh brutal world! I’m not your enemy. This role of warrior brings nothing but the misery! If a woman’s wings are trimmed And her radiance is dimmed, This is over. This is over! You will see her ride a broom. With a force to be reckoned, To be no longer the second, I am no longer a daughter! I eat them for breakfast, I eat them for lunch, I have audacity to throw the first punch! I dwell in the shadows. I sleep in the light. I am no longer a daughter. I throw the first punch!
Lol only waiting for a harsh vocal section in a jinjer song is a bad way to experience it, if u avoid so much smart complex polyrhythmic, pattern shifting, odd time sigmature stuff they do throughout the whole song 😂😂 Jinjer - Audiotree From Nothing (Live Performance) Jinjer - Call Me A Symbol (Official Live in LA)
Subscribed! And, another idea for you. I caught BAND-MAID live last August, and they were as amazing as you might expect, and more. I'm going to catch Jinjer live next month---performing also with another awesome band I think you should check out: HANABIE. ("Hah-nah-bee-eh") Another Japanese band. I like their music videos for "Be the GAL", "Tousou" and "Otaku Lovely Densetsu", especially. You won't have heard anything else quite like them.
Which show is close to you? I'm already taking my daughter and her roommate to see them in Charlotte on 10/1. I might be persuaded to get you a ticket...
There's a recent video that came out about them called "Jinjer Audiotree From Nothing" that is a really good watch.
Actually, part of the interview on that video speaks to a lot of the subject matter of this song, particularly where they speak about complete sacrifice for the work. That's what this song is about... Women sacrificing all for their work and not necessarily getting (or wanting) the fanfare for it
I absolutely love this song! I can't wait to see what else they have coming.
They have another song they're playing live called "Fast Draw" that is gonna melt people's faces off
🤘🇺🇦🤘

The riffs in this song (I think we need a new word for them here) are insane!

NICE...Thanx, man. Already seen about 4 reacts to the new JINJER, Someone's Daughter. Love it...

The lyrics are amazing:

Life feeds me bullets and stones
And I stitch myself up alone.

Inside of my blood-stained cheeks.

All my battles are a sight to behold.
Wading through the hardship alone
Translating my body to soul!

Dude, you HAVE to go to the show. Seriously. It’ll blow your mind and even if you have to forego eating for a week, it’ll be worth it.
You might want to check out the new version of Circle With Me by Spiritbox. It's a live version with Tatiana from the Louder Than Life festival.
