This is one of my favorite designs from the franchise, so it's nice to see someone put so much work into it.
i love that it fits so good that there's very little lines where parts meet

Turned out even greater, than expected. I love the contrasts between the flat and shiny surfaces.

I love the work you put into this kit, the only thing i think it is missing is the tire bulge from the weight of the aircraft, the tires and solid look throws everything off
I bought one of these last winter but have yet to build it, as I'm worried my painting skills simply aren't up to the task. The fact that I live in an apartment and can't use an airbrush means I have to do the majority of the painting outdoors (with rattle cans, no less) simply makes the build very intimidating.

Excellent video. YF-19 is one of my favourite fictional aircrafts and the paint job you gave is also great, I can especially appreciate all the steps you went through as someone who only assembles snap-fit kits from Bandai and would need years to gain your array of skills. Also, interesting choice with leaving the engines exposed, though with all that painted wiring it definitely has its own charm.

That right there is pure talent building something with so much detail. This video makes me want to get back into model building, though I think I'll never be that good, this is a hobby that helps a person develop patience. :-)
Subscribed liked etc, this is the first video of yours that I have watched. First time seeing a builder use the color pencils, it looked great with minimal effort. I'm new to gunpla and don't build models of tanks or planes, but have found myself finding amazing techniques and higher quality videos from model builders like Quick Kits, ScaleModelAircraft and now Scale-a-ton. First thought was to share this to the Gunpla group I'm in, however it's not allowed because it's not Gunpla. A shame people will miss out on discovering new inspiration anywhere. Steve Wall it's completely fictious.its from the Japanese anime series "Macross" and it the series these are actually mech suits that can transform from jet fighters to giant robots.
It's the YF-19 prototype which was featured in Macross Plus. I'm sure you'll enjoy the story :)

Roy Fokker's theme really is the theme of the real life VF-103 Jolly Rogers of the U.S. Navy. Roy was suppose to have been a member of that squadron.
I could see this being Roy's Plane if it entered service and he was still alive

Speaking of fantasy models, I read that you prepare some Maschinen Krieger. That should be interesting: they are closer to the armored stuff!...
You could also look up for the Vanship from Hasegawa. An Art Deco/Steampunk airship :-). I have just discovered it and found it irresistible.

Hi Radu,That's nice to hear that I am not alone about awesome Vanship. I have the Vanship kit and build it soon. I am also working on the 0.2mm airbrush for detail works video. That will be a comprasion video between GSI Creos 770, H&S Evo, Sparmax, Iwata clone and my mutant Iwata clone :)

Great kit, I own one. But what I'd like to know is: Where is its competitor, the YF-21 Omega, in this scale? The YF19 Alpha is great in this scale, but the YF-21 Omega would be even better.

Wow, using pencils instead of drybrushing. Never even thought about it.
I would really like to see you make a video about all your airbrushes and some tips and tricks why you use one over another for specific jobs. Like here around the 25 minute mark you use a few different types that I have not seen you use before and I would be interested to know what your reason was for using each of these and what features they brought to the build for you?
Thank you very much for the feedback. I am working on a comprasion and test video between cheap and expensive airbrushes. It will be completed soon. Long story short; Selection of the airbrush depends on which airbrush is clean and ready to use mostly. But wait for the video. I will explain some of your questions.
A kit this nice, it would almost be worthwhile to put in an LED lighting kit. Gonna build a YF-21 to go with it?

In Mechwarrior these are referred to as LAM land air mech and you got gerwalk correct as the in between stage between robot and aircraft modes. Macross stuff was also used in Mechwarrior.
Only the GEN1 Macross vehicles in the 80's went to BattleTech for a time before the Harmony Gold lawsuit put a end to that.
@@michaelbenjmitchell1 That is why there are no Lams in MechWarrior games and there are still mechs tied up in lawsuit hell.
@@seanthornton9969 Check out the redesigned Unseen Mechs. I picked up a few from Iron Wind Metals a couple years back of the Spartan and Defender.

i have the same problem on a lower level : ) , i try si-fi (maschinen krieger) when i get bored or i`m tired of all that war stuff ( and war is not a funny thing) , but i think it`s a problem "realisem" vs "art" or perfectionismus vs. inspiration , and somethimes i don`t know what is better ...?

At 9:05....................Why is the side panel exposed like that? I checked out the YF19 from Macross Plus and those wires and stuff are covered by paneling. Looks good here though!
2:23 they were fighting aliens the size of the plane, it makes sense to use a same-sized rifle.
