If I ever buy a three wheeler it would be this one. I saw another brand of bike that actually had NO parking brakes! ( That would be a whole lot of fun on my sloped driveway). This one has TWO parking brakes. Also, HJM should come out with a 3 wheel drive version that could go in sand and then market it with a clever, well thought out name: The Beach Baby. They could sell thousands in short order.
Wow. Your channel is great. I am in the market for an e-bike for my wife. We recently traveled to Ocean City, Md for a little vacation. And all you saw on the boards were e-bikes. And I could see in her eyes that she wanted one. I purchased an Aventon Level 3 some years ago and she wasn't really interested in it. But that all changed. And at her age a trike makes better safety sense. I couldn't make up my mind as to which one to get for her. Mooncool, Addmotor, Bison, Lectric, etc. Made my head spin. Then, I found your channel, (first vid I saw was on Addmotor and thought I was sold). But decided to go through your vids. Some of the trikes checked some of the boxes, and some others checked different boxes. But none of them checked all the boxes until this HJM. I am definitely getting her this one for a Christmas gift. I just have to find someplace to hide it until then and is probably smart to get it now before the rush. I know that I will be getting one for myself too later. Thanks again. Sorry for the length of this comment. The excitement made me do it...🤭
Really comes across as a car replacement. Looks super sturdy. One of the selling points of Lectric is they're shipped fully assembled. Nice to see other companies doing that, or close to that.
Hey Richard. This was an excellent review on this fat tire trike. Does this really come fully assembled via freight on a pallet? Can they deliver to an apartment bldg. with a front gate or wud they need access the garage door and parking area? It coming fully assembled so I all have to do is screw in the handlebar counts 1,000,000% for me. I look at the price and almost sold. Is the shipping included? Also, how does this compare to your favorite Mooncool TK 1 Trike?
Have been looking at these trikes for awhile now. It checks all the marks that I've been looking for, except one thing. Communication. Have you had any luck contacting HJM? I've tried a couple of time and no response. That is rather concerning.
Thank you. I have been looking all over for a review like this. I lost my license due to medical reasons and have been looking at one of these on and off for me and my fiancee.
Same for me - I have a rare movement disorder and my neurologist and the state said I can’t drive anymore. I moved to be closer to my adult kids for essential rides and just bought this same trike in orange. Everything I need is within three or four miles of my house. Big changes for us both.
Dear EBike Reviews and Adventures. I enjoy your videos. Very informative on all the bikes. I have ordered an HJM TriPro, Could you please tell me the inside dimensions (LxWxH) of the rear basket? I questioned HJM on this but the rep did not know. Any reply will be much appreciated. Thank you.
I think it looks like so much fun. What does Mrs Adventure think? As much as i love this it is off my list. That is because of how i will use it, strict canadian ebike laws, motor size and even bigger on the rear wheal drive.... and price. I HAVE to have a motor 500w or less. I am not at any point going to get a motor size that can get me a $500 ticket. (I am going to turn one into a ebike / mobility scooter. That means i have to fit into 2 sets of standards.
What is your opinion of the cadence sensor vs. the torque sensor? Trying to decide which bike is the best fit for me, the HJM TriHauler or TriHauler Pro.
thank you that does look like a good trike still not a fan of FWD tho Ive taken a peek at the pro & a mid hub drive is better. [but 1k watts!?!] hope its not the speed hub. I like low torque, the high speeds top arent my thing.
The 1000 watt rear motor is illegal by federal law for an ebike. I believe that 750 watts is the limit for bikes. Check out the federal laws. Most states are inline with the federal law - limiting ebikes to 750 watts. There may be a few states with exceptions.
In the US, the federal guideline for a rear motor e-bike is a maximum of 750 watts. E-bikes with higher wattages are typically considered mopeds or motor vehicles and can only be ridden where cars are allowed.
Nice trike, nice review. BUT at 100 lbs., The Perfect eTrike For Seniors? For some maybe, but likely not for most. Also, IMHO, too many inexperienced riders will be tempted to ride at faster speeds than they should, not understanding how dangerous higher speeds on these type of trikes can be.
The basket has such big gaps in it nothing would stay in. Either it will fall out the side or slide out the front or back. Same for the back basket. I get that to be strong enough to carry up to 50 kilo pay load they need the tube steel frame but most trikes with these types of baskets come with a free black bag to put stuff in at least for the back basket because of the fact that everything falls out or thru the bottom. If a bag does not come free with the bike it can cost up to $70 to buy one from them. So more expense on top of the bike cost, so try to get it fee from them or at least at a dicounted price because the baskets are pretty useless without the bag to hold everything in. Also with the front mounted motor they do not go up hills so well. I think the mid mounted or rear mounted is more practacle if you are in a hilly area or are going on rough or gravel roads. JAnd since they put a rear hub on their new modrl shows that thisbis true about the fron hub drive, just something to think aboug. Great that it has a differentisl in the back as this makrs the bike more stable whfn cornering as the diff is like a limited slip diff on a car and allows the inside wheel to go slower than the outside wheel on the corners. 😊
Apears to be a well constructed E-Bike BUT looses all appeal with having a FRONT wheel drive motor. A real disaster in winter with snow , ice. or rain on roads. NOT suitable in northern climates. Sorry HJM but you loose out here and Big TIME !
What do you think of the HJM TriHauler?
Great demonstration Richard. Of all your trikes, is this your very favorite right now?

5:50 Glad you like it! I've ordered the Pro model and it's supposed to ship next week. Great video and review.
This was a good video great work on editing gave a lot of information
Really like this trike. Looking to order next couple of days. Thanks for the great reveiw.
Wat would be nice is a version that uses both the front hub and the rear motor in the "upgraded" version for an offroad/trail/beach capable version

This one is definitely on my list to consider.
Hey' love that !! how much and how i' order HJM TrilHauler
Ordered the pro model supposed to be delivered next Wednesday. Cannot wait to see how it does.

What is your opinion of the cadence sensor vs. the torque sensor? Trying to decide which bike is the best fit for me, the HJM TriHauler or TriHauler Pro.
Love the features just too bad you can't tow with it. Looking for a bike I can haul my fishing gear to the beach.
Por favor pueden poner en español las bicis de tres ruedas gracias

How do I change the back axle
😢please help me
Send me a video of how to change the back axle
Very nice and sturdy looking trike
Can you still use the throttle in PAS mode even if you stop pedaling?
I’m short…about 5’3”: is this going to be too big for me?
Im concerned with how much your feet overlap the front wheel
I’m 50 with MS and some mobility issues. Would you recommend this over the Mooncool?
I ordered a mooncool tk1 pro in November that they said they had in stock. Well I never received the bike and now I’m still waiting for my refund.

Are you gonna narc? Food for thought, I guess, but I might buy one and remove any indication of the motor rating and then lie about it.

NO REVERSE! I like the idea of these but the idea of having to manually push the bike backwards could be very difficult for me.

Front motor is a no go.
Why
I like the idea of manual gears, and a front hub adds an element of AWD, but can pull you over quick if you're not careful.

the pro has rear wheel drive . but ebikes are not made to ride in the winter anyways. electric cars even suck in the winter.
