Now that I have tied it I am going to try it in some smaller cord, maybe 2mm. I think it will look good in that size and be particularly useful. John
Hi Mark, As a follow up to being able to tie this knot (thanks again) I have been looking at some of my old knot books. I have 'Knots and Splices' by Cyrus L Day. 1953. I would have been just five when he wrote that and I had it as a present in about 1963 when I was a Boy Scout. Just browsing the photographs - there are no real instructions - I liked the look of 'The Stanley Barnes Knot' which he describes as 'an anglers knot, is preferable to the more familiar "perfection knot". I think it is a more attractive knot than the Broach Loop which although really nice from the front looked a little clumsy or niaive after my attempts. I'm certain I had it right though. I hope you find this simple knot interesting, but Mr Day shows it only in 3 core rope not paracord. John
