    I also love insects and spiders. I find them fascinating to learn about. And it can be surprising how intelligent and resourceful they are.
    I once saved a honeybee that was in my grandmother's pool. She was struggling and certainly would have drowned. I scooped her out with the net and left her on the deck to dry off. I kept checking on her and the last time I checked on her, she was getting ready to fly away. Before she did, this honeybee flew in three circles around my head before taking off. I will always be convinced that she was thanking me for saving her from the pool. 🐝

    The caterpillars reacting was new to me. Also, I’d no clue a camel could open its mouth that widely! So many great moments but the porpoise saving the dog was amazing!

    People often don't realize just how intelligent animals are. Crows being one of the most intelligent. They can remember people's faces and hold a grudge against someone. Alternatively, I heard a story of crows bringing things like fruit to a lady who used to feed them in her yard everyday. Thank you gifts for her from the crows.

    • @Maeshalanadae
      @Maeshalanadae ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not only do they indeed hold grudges, those vendettas are generational as “bad landers” I would imagine crow thought being, as multiple generations of a flock can hate the same person who mistreated their flock mates and ancestors.

      @@Maeshalanadae I’ve always loved birds but lived with cats growing up so I could only observe them from inside/the screened-in porch. Then I met my boyfriend 5 months ago and he and his family LOVE birds and I’ve learned so much! Amazing animals with amazing personalities.

    Kabir, re. the tourist who was posing with a camel, it's amazing how many tourists do silly things like this, and expect good results. One time on a program called National Geographic Explorer, I saw a man in the park town just outside WY's Grand Teton N.P. trying to get the perfect shot of an elk in the town square, which meant getting as close as possible (because obviously these are all circus trained animals, and wouldn't hurt me). The elk took as much as it could, then moved the few steps to the man, scooped him up in his antlers, and tossed him about 8 ft./2.5 meters in the air.
    Toward the end, that's the strangest looking pigeon I've ever seen.

    • @americansmark
      @americansmark ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomstuever7396 is smarter? Not even close. The border collie has won the smartest dog competition for 2 decades running. I have two border collie lab mixes that have figured out how to open doors, calculate wind and sound to guess the frisbee trajectory without looking at it, and open the fridge to help themselves to dinner.
      I have blink footage of them opening the basement door, letting themselves out to pee, coming back in, and locking the door back so that we wouldn't know they left. They are isanely smart dogs.
      I had a rat terrier when I was a kid. He was sneaky and smart, but not on the level of a herding dog.

    • @donny5318
      @donny5318 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@americansmark not claiming to know about all the dog breeds, but iv owned 2 German Shepard that was able to do those things, open a door with a knob, fridge, figure out things from obvious thought and never trained. Not claiming they are smarter from a dog competition standpoint, but just saying German Shepards are extremely smart and capable of doing the same and similar things to what you mentioned. I get it border collies are accepted by most professionals as being the smartest overall, but saying its not close isnt accurate. I do agree they are the smartest as a whole, but known for also misbehaving due to how smart they are, by getting into things (not saying yours do), but the breed is known for this as a pet. Anyway whole point was border collie is not far and beyond smarter from the other smartest dogs, but they do own the competition given to grade this pretty consistently, just don't think the gap is that far, knowing the capabilities of other breeds.
