Totally love this place, grew up as a kid fishing here on many amazing holidays, then in my first marriage I took my kids here all the time, now as adults they go there, and soon my son will be taking his child/ my grand son there, R.I.P beutiful miss butler such a lovely old dear.
We loved this place also...what a spot! So nice to be able to share it with your kids and soon your grandson. Very healthy experience for them being outdoors. Memories forever :)
Do you have a favourite spot there? We are thinking of going back and trying another spot (other than Salmon Beach and Butlers). Have you fished off the rocks there?
@@fishingsister The rock fishing is excellent and the variety of species will blow you away . One state titles I weighed in 15 different species of the rocks from Butlers property ,Snapper , salmon , king's , flatties , mulloway , sweep , bream , mullet trevally , and many others . The beach fishing is good but the rocks are way better as you catch all the beach species too. Always the Time of year is the key to success there not so much the spots .
@@fishingsister I have had great success during the annual mullet run as they school there by the thousands . All the fish congregate to feed on them as well . A good idea is to get mrs butlers number and have a chat as she knows that place like the back of her hand and she is lovely .
Wow I have to say you picked an amazing day, where you are fishing on that beach is normally rough as guts, and it’s also where the best salmon can be caught.
Looking forward to them even if it’s just scenery videos! I’ll be heading down that way in a few weeks for salmon and big winter squid. Fingers crossed 🤞
O wow brings back fond memory's fishing with my Dad so long ago ,when we had a holiday house at Edithburg ,we fish all the coast and Buttlers when it was a just a sand track to the beach ,thanks for sharing and bring back a good time with my Dad, now past at 90 some 10 years ago :) Martin your a lucky man having some one that loves fishing with you sooo envious :)
So glad it reminded you of happy times 😍. I loved Butlers. Oh and I don't know how much Martin was loving my obsession with fishing yesterday morning when I was up in the dark to fish on a very cold beach with lots of seaweed lol. It is safe to say I am way more into fishing than him 🎣
Excellent Video. How do you keep your pilchards on the hook without them breaking apart? Did you freeze them in salt? Look forward to more videos. Thanks
Usually we salt these while camping so keep them in a container in the tent and bag them up as needed. If we had extra yes we would freeze them salted. We do that with cockles 👍
Yes we have been there many times. It can be a really hard place to fish! Some fantastic deep gutters right by the shore but the beach can be wild. Very soft sand as well. Still we have had some great sessions there. Check our vid on our Fleurieu playlist. Will give you an idea of what it is like 😃
Very curious - do you mean the Salmon Beach side or the Coffin Beach side? We saw people walking up around the cliffs in the direction of Salmon Beach when we were fishing at Butlers. Maybe it is easier to get onto Salmon Beach that way rather than where we climbed down - that sure wasn't easy!

Yes it was sensational that day. I've heard it's a good salmon spot...sometimes I think the weather can be too nice for salmon lol
Really enjoying your videos. Like the accessible location info. Enjoy your presentation. Please do not stop making videos.
I appreciate your comments. We enjoy sharing what happens when we go on new fishing trips so others can learn too. More videos soon 😉
Great session. Another beautiful day for fishing.
It sure was Tim!

Nice one👌
Nice looking beach and great fishing session. Well put together video and very good to watch. Might look into those pods too.
Thanks for the feedback. Those pods look nice. There is more than one and with great views.
Hi, I love beach fishing, have you guys ever been to waitpinga beach just out of Victor harbour?

Ha, was just thinking of you yesterday.... been a while lol
👍
nice to hear! Yes we have had a bit on lately..so good to get another vid out of the beautiful Yorkes.
Doesn't look very active Martin ?
"Well I've only been playing the thing for 2 hours" lol
Always a pleasure Fishing Sister .
nice to hear from you! Such a great session on that beautiful beach
I reckon that fish had been on there a while before I pulled it in. Did not even notice it was on until I stared winding it in.
If you can see the point in the right of camera, there is a beach around the corner of that point that is much better fishing
