    Another great review, James 👍 The vac seems a bit spendy, but it does offer variable speed, compact size, and 3-stage filters, which is pretty sweet. Too bad about the vertical filter placement, though. Horizontal mounts (ala tray style) seem more logical and would have mitigated the mess.

    Thanks for running the vac in such detail. Will be considering one as an upgrade for my CNC.

    Hi James, any chance you will be doing a review on the newer 30 and 40W output lasers. That laser manufactures such as laser tree are now producing would be good to understand what you really get for all this extra power.
    cheers
    Phil,

    Great video James , personally for me and for the UK I still don't think you can go wrong with a " Henry Hoover " half the price Has a much bigger collection bucket has a bag which are cheap to replace and also has filter system . ( no active carbon ) which to be honest "active carbon " is only any good if you change it regularly ...
    but then it's each to their own I suppose.
    but i do give foxalien credit at least they are listening to their customers and coming up with ideas .....

      Bought a Henry 13 years ago when I renovated my house, still going strong today 👍

    As a hvac tecnician I would like to point out that the holder for the hepafilter is as important as the filter, to reach hepalevel it needs to be clamped in tight or the small particals just goes around the filter

    • @JamesDeanDesigns
      @JamesDeanDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can confirm it is there pretty tight with a seal all around it 👍

    Do you have a video that details the cyclone system?
    I get a lot out of your channel. Thanks

    Great video James. 2 questions - IS there any information about run time for the vacuum - An engraving job might take 10 hours for example. Also, will the dust show fit a Makita on a Genmitsu CNC like the 4040 pro?

    brilliant mate! i still gotta snag a cyclone for the XL. curious though when running a cyclone + vac do both hoses need to be grounded or just the one to the machine?

    Interesting, but what is it's duty cycle, some jobs can run for several hours can this handle long periods do they suggest cycle times?

    Hi James, thanks again for another fantastic video! They actually provide it now with the dust separator! Would you recommend something else over this in around that price budget please? Thank you in advance and can't tell you how much your videos have been a help to me!

    I'm very close to ordering one of these, but the yellow paint is still a deal breaker so far. Being in Texas, I'm just partial to their normal shade of orange for reasons. :)

    Thanks for a great review again James. It seems, with the carbon filter, this vacuum might be a good solution for laser machines.

    • @JamesDeanDesigns
      @JamesDeanDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it should minimise the smell or smoke in you're work area.

      It wouldn't be able to cope with laser cut wood. I have the bigger Xtool 3 stage unit and It needs constant filter changes at £180 a time! I only use it on long jobs now where I am cutting for over an hour. Should be fine on acrylic though.

    What class is the extractor? Searched on there site but couldn't see any information on it, also can't see any information on replacement filters etc
    Currently using a trend T35a and although it's a great extractor, I'm looking for something that will look better on the workstation

    Great review as always. Maybe comparing to a shopvac is not a great comparison. Maybe a better comparison would be something like the Festool CT 26E HEPA dust extractor, which comes in at almost twice the price. I am kinda digging that dust boot though. I am soon switching over from my square VFD to the equivalent round one.

      A closer comparison would be the festool ct 15 or fein turbo I, both of which will mob the floor with this thing in suction and capacity. I caught my fein turbo I on sale for $175; I bought it exclusively for CNC use, along with a dust deputy. The fein is amazingly quiet; I think it may even be a bit quieter than my festool midi I.

    Do you have the Genmitsu L8? It's already available but there aren't any reviews out.

      No, I haven't had any lasers from Sainsmart for a lo g time. Usually they try and time the launch with someone's video so odd there is not one 🤔

    How can I attach the hose from my Karcher vacuum to this dust shoe? Anyone have any ideas?

  • @hythewoodworkdesigns
    @hythewoodworkdesigns ปีที่แล้ว

    For the dust shoe alone from the UK warehouse, has a standard delivery charge of £20.72. Express is £33.15. What???? Their website even states shipping is free for USA, UK & DE, yet I'm still being charged. I don't get it. I have emailed Fox Alien for an answer. Let's see what they come back with.

    Is this a sponsored video or not. Did you pay for the vacuum with your own money or have you got it for free. You need to clarify this at the start of the video.

    I would not buy this on one point. Future availability of filters. Yea I can buy a box of 100 each but that is not a solution. If I knew it was a standard size that would be around everything else looks good.
