Rob nailed it on the head: "They usually get pretty accelerated and excited because of each others conversations and ideas between each other. Take that out of the picture: Will they be just nothing but chill?" Absolutely beautiful.
They could have two songs writing at once as well, like both of them are adding to eachother's songs at once and with a time limit of like 10 minutes for each turnover. All in an hour :0
Are we gonna talk about how awesome the crew is? The way they're so on the same page as Rob and Andrew just makes it all so smooth and really goes to show how they're a huge part of every song made on Sonic Boom. Big props to them!
I've commented b4 about how terrifyingly talented Andrew and Rob are but you are absolutely correct on this as well! The fact that the crew not only can mesh well with the duo like @Srcsqwrn said but they seem to actually enjoy it which just adds on to the greatness. The vibe is always so inviting regardless of their overwhelming talent. IMO a welcomed take.
Also the healthy platonic affection that Andrew and Rob show each other is sooooo lovely. Two gigachads not afraid to say "I love you" to their friends
i dont know when you kids decided to flip things but where i come from a chad is a bad thing like a karen, so the way i read this is you just called these guys giant assholes
without sounding too cheesy, this whole video just proves how music is a universal language that naturally bridges gaps and fosters connection through sounds
to be honest I lost interest in that after the first album, didn't really feel interesting anymore, hoping that this new format has inspired them to do something better this time, though maybe it's just not for me. love where they're going with the new format though
@@AfonsodelCB It's the experience and journey of making the music that's of interest to many of us rather than just the end results. Hopefully this series gives you what you're looking for though
Every Sonic Boom episode makes it obvious how close the two of them are as friends. Rob and Andrew collabing is like magic and their bond really solidifies that. Also Ruccia somehow understanding Rob's stick clicks and enterpreting it exactly as intended is very comical to me
Knowing what I do now about rob and mania it really shows here. His image and his body language just showed how not okay he was. We love you rob and we're glad you're okay now😊😊😊
Idea for another episode: an all vocal song. Every part of the song is vocals - you can sample yourselves with a sampler in the room to increase the possibilities. This even creates the possibility of a 1 instrument series where you both have the exact same instrument and have to make a song with that one thing. Great sponsor potential too 👀
@@twinx_bar kinda, more like acapella+ - they could sample themselves to create synths and run their voices through a myriad of fx for different tonal possibilities
I honestly like the feedback from the booth, like it makes sense in an episode where they dont talk to include them but i think it should be something that stays for the future hearing them comment/analyze you guys and such :)
Andrews virtuosity never ceases to amaze me. Rob doing the mime mic drop was hilarious. This is funny, inspiring, impressive, heartwarming and unique. Its like watching love on the spectrum.
I’d like to see you guys make a song where neither of you can say no, and you can’t erase any ideas. Just go with what comes naturally and live with the consequences ❤
I think they already rarely say no, which is what makes them a great team. This could be fun though - one of them suggests something totally stupid, the other person has to go with it
The production value on this is insane. Layering Andrew singing in the control booth over Rob tracking guitar. The amount of audio sources you're working with to put this show together and its all so smooth is insane. It feels like we're in the room with you and its so seemless. Bless you all for making this happen.
You guys are so talented that you write better music than 90% of musicians without even talking to each other. True musical geniuses and as viewers we’re gifted with this type of content
Do something like this: Andrew do Left Channel By himself alone and rob do the right channel by himself alone. Then those 2 channels are mixed and sent to each one, andrew must now do an right channel that mix with both channels and rob do an left channel that mix with both things. The result is the 4 channels mixed.
Used to have an octave mandolin, was my favourite thing to write on, every idea that came out of it just seemed totally fresh and new compared to a mandolin or acoustic guitar.
I so hope that this happens again. This was such a calming, soothing, relaxing experience. i loved watching you both just in the flow, bouncing and creating and basking simply in the music made by the other. and the CREW man, what a gift to have such a team to work with to create this music.
Lovely creativeness. Because you've asked... Has the thought occurred to possibly try and do something akin to "Scenes from a Hat? Various strips of Paper made up by the crew (or even from your audience) all thrown into a Hat that is randomly chosen by you (or the crew) and then using those suggestion piece together something. You could possibly even stretch it out further by making another hat filled with random Instruments to be used.
This demonstrates just how in tune they are with each other. Amazingly, everyone "just knows". That's great synergy right there These need to never stop
This one actually hit me personally, cause I don't like to 'bulid' songs. When I compose it is just flow of creative energy. I believe it is could be way different if you'd communicate, more than you could expect. And no way there is more inspiring and entertaining show on yt. Quality content!
Blink-182 wrote “Feeling This” by having Mark and Tom go in 2 separate rooms and write separately for and hour and they smushed together what they came up with. That’s why the song has a cool disjointed effect. You two should try something like that!
Thank you for the amazing content as always. I love the way y'all try and break your comfort zones, like you pushing rob in vocals. Inspirational and emotional, you two have a beautiful friendship. IDEA: Maybe try building a song from end to beginning, might change up the way you would start a song based on how you've already decided how you would like it to end. Please keep up the amazing work.
Andrew has mentioned in past videos that people sometimes give him grief about his singing voice, but I don't understand why because he sounds fantastic! Great song guys.
He has a fantastic range. He can sing very delicate songs while also been able to do more aggressive vocals too, yeah sure there are many vocalists like that but not all are able to pull it off
Very few songs have made me genuinely tear up. There's just something so profoundly beautiful about this song, and it is easily one of my favourites from you guys. You are quickly becoming some of my favourite musicians ever. Amazing job, both you two and the crew!
This was really cool to watch and listen to. Mad respect for not having an ad read or having the backing band comment on stuff. Which would have killed the vibe. For the other end of the spectrum be fun if Rob and Andrew drink a lot of coffee or energy drinks. See if that gets a really energy filled song.
Just finished the vid and wow. I also thought Sonic Boom would get to talk more, lol. This song gave me chills. That layered vocal build up, woooo! Also, excellent editing all the visual components with the final song. I wondered if this challenge would keep my interest because there would be no talking, but I loved the charades aspect. I learned that I don't understand what Andrew and Rob were communicating with their gestures, but that's what makes it magical when they were able to communicate well with each other and the crew.
Sonic Boom is my favorite series going on TH-cam right now, every episode is just so inspiring and fun, and in this case oddly relaxing, that I can't wait for more. You guys are the best, keep it up!
I have a friend that now lives halfway across the U.S. We played music together for over a decade. We've drifted apart a bit, but this reminds me of when we could really read and play off each other. Keep this up guys. Not everyone gets to experience stuff like this with a good friend.
I'ts clear that these guys love each other, not only are they both musical colleagues in the TH-cam music space, but they're genuine friends, which is so damn cool to see, been a fan of both for literal years at this point.
This is how musicians communicate since begining of making music collaboratively - it's the funnest part; transcending one language through another....
This video was both very interesting and really funny to watch. You guys always make something really special, no matter what challenges you put in place. Beautiful song.
Purely because of the jovial nature of 'Sonic Boom' episodes. this track absolutely blew my mind. Hear me out: exquisite corpse but with music. One person goes in, lays down one instrument take without the other person being able to hear it or give input. Then you swap places and the other person adds to it. Keep doing it until the song is done.
This should be just one short part of a 1 hour prog epic. What started out as a jam ended up with some very well chosen arranging and instrumentation. The vocal harmonies are the best bit.
oh you know just casually writing songs that should be chart toppers lol. you guys and the crew are on a whole other level of being able to just WORK TOGETHER and produce amazing songs.
What if you did a song where you decided a style, bpm, key, and time signature, but couldn't actually hear each other's parts?
I can't like this enough.
I want to hear both the "for real" version and the "we cheated just a tiny bit because it sounded so good" version.

I really think Rob's wide legged metal guitarist stance while playing the softest mandolin melody really encapsulates his entire musical vibe
