    If you’re watching this, you’re part of the solution because you’re educating yourself. I’m so tired of uneducated people acting like they know everything about cannabis when they don’t even know that males don’t produce buds. That don’t know the slightest thing about Cannabis. I hope more people get properly educated so I can have a legitimate conversation about it with more people instead of only in forums.

      We take a male plant and put it right in the middle of the grow room for the last week and a half of flush.
      All they want to do is reproduce and when you put a male in the middle of the room with his nuts X cut off they swell the buds of huge and they absolutely cover themselves in trichomes in an attempt to catch pollen and reproduce.
      We get a 25 to 40% increase and dried weight and trichomes without chemicals or stress!

    • @thecloneguyz

      @Juan Polla Larga Stamosa
      Roseanne is stupid because the trichomes are not psychoactive yet.

    I'm from Laos, and lived there for a long time. The weed there, when it's good, is something to behold. Tastes like mango, and is as hallucinogenic as bud can be. I miss it so much.

    • @krich451

      Question: i dont want to sound racist or anything but why is it that i constantly here the word "hallucinogen" or "hallucinogenic" about cannabis only when asian people are talking about it? Smoking cannabis should pretty much never cause somebody to have any type of hallucinogenic effect. Ive heard that some people can have some mild hallucinogenic effects from eating cannabis in extremely high doses, but that's pretty rare and never the desired effect. So why is it that in asian culture exclusively that cannabis is said to be a halluconogen?

      @@krich451 there are some very strong strains coming out of Asia. Sometimes the high is an uncomfortable one. My guess is because the strains can be pure, mostly Sativa. Most of the weed nowadays has been altered genetically. I remember smoking Thai weed and getting pretty fucked up for hours. It sometimes made me very paranoid. The one thing I remember most about Thai weed is that you'd get stoned & not even realized that four hours had passed, & you're still stuck on the couch. Loved it & miss it as well

    So refreshing to hear Justin Calvino. We are only talking about what wine growers have known for years. Cheese makers have known. Beer makers have known. Everyone has always known what Justin is basically saying, the strains and the soil and the place and the effect will and ought to become specific, because essentially we can let 'Pepsi' grow pepsi, and we as local growers should grow like every other craft produce grower. Big fan of Jeff Lowenfels as well and like the Dr Elaine Ingham mention. Great presentation and glad to hear from another Portland Cannabis person who cares about the genetics (although I'm a home grower/breeder)...and always hearing from Kevin Jodrey. Justin Calvino!! I had never heard of him before this video, but have been watching the Emerald Cup Panels for years..I learned a lot about microbial and not-til growing...So happy to hear others who care so much about this plant and its history and future.

    I agree weed is all beginning to have the same result. Much of that is due to this cement mixer breeding and another factor is your body adjusting to your situation. If you start smoking tobacco, in a period of time, depending on your physiology, you don't get sick anymore because your physiology has adjusted. Same with antibiotics. You start off with one effect but after so much usage the effect fades. Same with cannabis. After smoking for a period of time, the effect changes. Example, back in the day we would get a chrome brick of Oaxaca full of stems, sun leaves and seeds, you'd light up and the seeds exploded. But we got wonderfully high. Today the effect would be half what it was back then. So my answer, stop smoking weed 24/7 if you want more effect. The other answer, grow from seed. Cull the best plants, pollinate them, grow 'em again etc etc. and you'll end up with something you like.. The mega growers will move completely in once weed is taken off schedule 1 so they can bank legally. A few years back farmers who saw this coming sold the land they bought and developed 30, 40 years ago, for huge profits. Today farmers those farms are going for less and less. As the price continues down, corporate farms will have to produce more to maintain profits. Eventually, it will become like growing tomatoes for shape, size, color, smell, TimeToMaturity, shelf life, disease resistance through genetic modification. Growing for effect will take too much time and money, so their "superior strains" will be expensive insuring a thriving black market. (Remember, they don't call it "WEED" for nothing.) People will grow their own or know someone who does (hopefully organically) and will be given a little or buy a little. Once the "green rush" slows down and the outlaw romance rides off in to the sunset, sales will slow way down and corporations will focus on edible processing and packaging or begin to leave the business. So enjoy what you got. Learn how to grow and propagate organically and don't worry about a thing. Peace y'all.

    great video and some actual real music for an intro! unrelated to the video but I feel misrepresented by a lot of cannabis cultivation channels that just blast shitty hometown garage band rap and wear MMA merchandise and backwards baseball caps; slurring their speech and cracking terrible jokes after every sentence. The constant dabs probably mess up their ability to distinguish between being funny and just being hyperactive and annoying. There are just as many growers out there who are the polar opposite; well spoken, highly discerning (in all aspects of life), very well read, humble and presentable; People who can give the cannabis industry legitimacy and bridge the gap between us and the broader horticultural community. This channel and KIS are two of a few channels I've discovered recently that represent us in a way that we can ALL be proud of. Not just the hooded masked bandits with loaded shotguns in every room.

    • @damson140
      @damson140 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      just to clarify, I know there are certain security measures we take as growers that are necessary depending on where we live and our legal and societal conditions and I'm not shitting on the measures people take to ensure the safety of themselves and their families but I personally have never wanted to glorify that aspect of this lifestyle or portray that at all. We all have had to be hardy individuals emotionally and prepared to protect ourselves against force with no work cover or health cover. we have had to grow thick skin because of the history of our crop and the risk we take just to produce clean cannabis but if you're out there making videos acting like a thug it's because you like it and you're not interested in cleaning up the the cannabis industry's image. Peace from Australia.

    the high thc market can still be there for small farmers though. the big corporations won't grow the same quality regardless with those same genetics. you can still produce high thc content walmart weed that yeah your mass consumers will buy for low cost, but just like any industry there's going to be the higher end market that still thrives because of connoisseur level customers. that level of customers will seek out the best product regardless of the numbers. they're the people who understand the numbers don't mean everything and they buy based on scent, and how enjoyable the overall experience is going to be. these are the people we can revive old genetics with. i sure as hell know i'd love to have the old school back regardless of the numbers. i want the super skunks, the northern lights, the white rhinos, the g13, and maui waui, etc. and so many more. honestly i do love the gassy, fuel category strains but they've become overly prevalent. every dispensary seems like they sell 15 varieties of diesels. i want the pungent skunks, the citrus, the super fruity tropical type strains back and so do so many other consumers. if a shop opened and properly marketed themselves with properly grown genetics from back in the day the products would sell. i guarantee it.

    This isn't the renaissance of marijuana, it's the beginning of the end of prohibition. There are people no doubt that are passionate or enthusiastic about cannabis. Don't let the climate of what can be done fog your enthusiasm for consuming cannabis, or your passion for cultivating and breeding strains. The more you learn about it the more interesting and enjoyment you will find in it. Dismay and distress will only bring dis-collaboration and slow the growth of what will come in time. The craft needs generations of work because it needs universal information. The internet does not make it universal. There are not even enough people to fill The Big House that the tradition of growing marijuana has passed between two generations I would brave to say. In the midst of a very fast moving time in general, and specifically with cannabis there is much to figure out in terms of regulation and reformation of responsibilities, as well as in terms of a reversal of societal norms not only from people that do not consume it, but people that do as well.

      Gotta grow your own for flavor differences, the rich people opening the shops only care about profit and selling the latest trend unfortunately them and unfortunately alot of customers don't have the passion for this plant they just want whatever bullshit the big rapper now or some other asshole labels as the best. Clueless selfish society is ruining the real cannabis experience and most the passionate people aren't the rich trend snobs with the money. As long as Big Pharma and Corporations aren't the only ones allowed to cultivate there will be good cannabis grown for the right reasons but sadly especially in the US I fell it will eventually go that way. Make seeds and save them might be a rare commodity one day.

Huge zucchini taste like crap, huge cannabis plants probably don't produce the best flowers. And to try and breed "mold resistance" into a strain...sorry, it simply won't grow and thrive in certain climates. Check out my 2018 grow. Peace.

      We take a male plant and put it right in the middle of the room for the final week of flush with his nuts X cut off.
      The females know he's there and all they want to do is reproduce so they swell the buds up huge and absolutely cover themselves and tricomes in an attempt to catch pollen and reproduce.
      We get a 25 to 40% increase in dried weight and trichome production.

    People want to get high. Up or down. You have that part correct. Yes there is a market for higher end product but you have to be very careful IMO. If you come in saying you have a higher end product it needs to be a higher end product that really stands out. If you try and get people to pay 4,5, 6 times the rate of the standard product on the shelf it has to be that much better. If it isn't then people will just say why am I paying more for something that is moderately better but I can buy 6 times the amount of product and save money.
    Overall I think it's a great discussion. I see this was end of last year.. I also see lots of farms in Humboldt for sale or lease. Not a good sign. There's always going to be a market for the higher end product. That market will always be in the cities and suburbs. Out in rural america forget it.
    Another thing to keep in mind when your building your business model is I noticed you started talking about when you could ship it or the fact that you couldn't ship it out of state yet.. Keep in mind that there are good growers everywhere growing good product. Just about in every state if not in every state. As the states open up they to will be trying to go after that high end market and will be pushing the grown locally mentality. So right now you may stand out in a sea of green mediocrity out west. Once the rest of the country opens up the competition is going to be tougher on the high end market and as such that price competition is also going to be there.

    Awesome video right here! Thank you to all of those who took tgeir time to putting this interesting and useful information onto a video. As for the federal situation. Participation is validation. Everyone in the industry needs to come together and refuse to participate with the federal nazi regulators. The more the people bend over the harder the federal government will jam it in. Stand up and grow up. Civil disobedience goes a long ways.
    NO one not a one should of showed up to participate in their regulatory scam of a sham that only made things worse. It will require much financial sacrifice as well as self sacrifice to change the direction of the cannabis industry. These days there a very few brave and courageous humans to put the oppressors into their place. What is going to be interesting to see is how this soon to be coming world wide famine will dictate all forms of agriculture. As I look at all these big indoor grow operations I often wonder if it was allowed because they will be needed for food crops and their protection from the ever changing environment. This could be done in a national emergency under certain executive orders.
    The past few years have been brutal for farmers and their crop production. Not only that but the lack of quality of what was produced as well. There is going to be a time in the very near future where we will see the cost of food be more than that of cannabis. Big changes coming our way.
    Get ready or get left behind.
