Good point about not being able to view the quality of what you are getting. It can be a bummer and a lot of the loose disk games I simply would just not purchase at the store.
Yea I gave them a shot and immediately canceled afterwards. I went with the 5 up plan as well. Got two shovelware incomplete wii u games, 2 junk racing games for SG, ballz 3d on SG, and Rugrats Scavenger hunt on N64. Pure garbage. I gave the Princess Peach Sticker to my son.
Even though it is the last box I would reach out them about the cart label damage. That one is bad enough it shouldn't make it into a regular box and should have been saved for a flash sale with label damage. The misses mystery box sounds like a fun idea. Look forward to seeing what they hold. Especially if you open it up to accessories. The boxes can really be hit or miss.
HOW CAN IT COST SO MUCH FOR USED LOOSE CARTS????!!!! At current exchange rates 3 of those are about 70 cents all over the place here in Japan and the others maybe 5-10 dollars I should get into the sending used games to people business
You gave them a good try. It really seems to work well for some folks and not for others. You will probably have a lot more fun doing the Better Half mystery boxes too.
I'm glad this is here! Was reaearching the company and deciding if I wanted it or not, and this plus your other videos convinced me not to. Subscribed! You make quality content.
These retro game subscription boxes are a neat idea. Who wouldn’t want to have a box full of games shipped to your door every month? Well, in practice, it seems like all they send is the dirt-common stuff that other sellers can’t give away if they tried. Complete and utter schmuck bait. You’re better off buying something at a local game store if you have one.
I could see doing this if you are really that indecisive about what to play and are against emulation for even trying before you buy, but really I think trying before you buy is the way to go. I'd say just get a fullset, try every game and create your own list of likes. Collect the likes that aren't budget breakers and nothing else. Then on to the next system.
These loot boxes ain't worth it to me. You get the "value" but do you really? If you went to sell those games right now you'd probably get half of you paid. I know there is people who love this service and I don't blame them.. it's a rush, gamble service and I honestly think it's fun to watch. But I personally don't buy these loot boxes.
And I want to say, that I do think that’s a fair profit for this kind of service. And if this is how consumers want to spend their money, then they should by all means go for it. It’s just that how I do my collecting doesn’t benefit from a service like this, so the markup that I’m paying for it doesn’t make sense for me. I go to enough places to buy games already, and I can get better cost to quality if I were to spend that money at those places instead of on this service. Plus, at the stores, I can actually vet the condition of the games, and not have instances like Animaniacs this month, or like a couple of the games I got from last month’s box.

Tazmania is one of those games thats completely different between the sega and snes releases.

I think it could work if you only asked for PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast and Gamegear titles. Hard to send more than a few "cheap" games for those systems.

Aw man they did you dirty.

Dude, I love that name. “The Better Half Mystery Box”. Can I steal that?
seems like an obvious self scam.. not sure what you were expecting
Top Gear Rally was one of my favs back in the day

The company has been around forever offering the same flimsy quality

I did them for an entire year, strictly SNES. Never once got anything that I would consider a prize. Most of the time I could do better alone.
thank goodness about time.

To bad you got underscored this time. I can see how it could be disparaging. 😮

Better off just ordering carts off ebay. I guarantee you aren't going to get any good games.
Those games are terrible 😂
Grab bags and blind bags = shit we cant sell gets bundled in an overpriced loot box 😂 glad ya quit this shit service
So they made $10? I understand your point, but capitalism requires profit to succeed... $10 isn't a lot. But I get what you're saying.

@@TheCartCollector I totally get it dude. I agree with you. I wouldn't do it either. But it's a neat idea.
It is neat. That’s what attracted me to it in the first place haha.
