The second guy makes me sick. First he can't answer the question if he loves his wife then all he can think about is having fun even though his wife is crying and considering divorce and all of sudden he can't remember the name of his own child !! Exactly. I really feel like he doesn't love her and she is just his maid that lives with him. It really made me sick at least he could say "I can try to limit it down and make more time with you and the baby." Like you really cannot have an addiction ruining your marriage. This guy makes me SO ANGRY. At first, I thought that it was going to be a funny concern but this is freaking serious. He is just so inconsiderate that .. I don't even know what to say. Don't get a family if you were going to be like this! Don't make your wife go through this if you don't even know if you love her (which I don't think he does..)! Like, the kid is also yours! Tbh I think they might be in an arranged marriage. They do that a lot in China. That's the ONLY logical explanation I can think of in this situation, that would support the reason of him not loving his wife and treating her as such. If that isn't the case then that makes the situation 1000x more fucked up, and she should just take her baby and leave. He's fucking trash, if he hates his wife then he should've left instead of making his wife his maid, AND fucking having a child he obviously doesn't want, with her. Ugh he got me HEATED!!! Luckily that cute girl was there at the end to cheer me up a bit lol

And who wants to give a loser money he's going to blow on his amusement park habit and not support his wife and child (whom he can't remember the name of) that sort of money? She's never going to see any of that money for her or her child. So when they vote, they think, "Hey, if he wins, he's going to blow that money on his habit and her concern will get even more ignored." Probably why he came on the show was because of the promise of cash and he thought he could blow it on amusement parks. But I think they push to try to get over a certain number on things so that the person feels social pressure to change.

The wife could've have had that money and take care of her child and get divorced. She won't need him anymore and it will also make her feel that so many people agree that this is a serious concern, so she'd probably take a better decision. After all, that money is for the one who sent the concern.
That's what I think.

Even if she did have her own bank account, he's still legally entitled to that money. (For example, in the case where the wife with the loser husband had a bank account for their kid and he stole the money from the kid by showing up at the bank and taking the money out). Therefore, he would have taken the money, not her. Even if they specify it's for her, he still has a legal right to her money. That's what married means. If they were already divorced, then yeah, she could keep the money and get child support, but Korean law is pretty harsh on women who divorce (except when men cheat), often favoring men getting custody, even when the woman has better pay, etc. (You'd have to watch Greatest Marriage, which is far more optimistic for that.) And single mothers have a super tough time as people often fire single mothers and legally can.
Dong Yeop has pointed it out in the past with loser husbands, too, that if the person wins, the husband gets the money. That's why in most cases the person with the loser husband never wins. It's always the person who has a serious concern where change could happen is when money was given.
They rarely ever suggest divorce/separation, so I'm thinking they cut out some parts where it was clear it was not salvageable--even more than shown. (I think if she came back and was divorced and still was doing this sort of thing to her and their child and not paying child support, she'd have a sweeping win).

He's a really terrible case and it's also partly to do with the culture in China. They pointed out that he's a very patriarchal man and his wife agreed. His child is a girl and patriarchy always prefers boys. China has also been obsessed with boy children for centuries and this habit and expectation will be near impossible to break. Nah. A lot of the other men, at the end, admit they were wrong, or a little wrong, or say they will try to change or something. This is the only guy I've seen that doesn't know his kid's name, doesn't say he loves his wife (even if they usually don't mean it or show it they usually say it) and at the end doesn't even say he might change or he wants to change.
The reason I keep watching this show is cos so often it shows people learning they were wrong and the catch up moments from sometimes very worrying concerns show how brilliantly people can change. BUT this genuinely seemed hopeless, even at the end. As far as I can remember, the concern with the most hopeless ending.
The second guy gets on my nerves so much, it's like how can you do that to your wife and daughter.His wife needs to take herself and her daughter and leave him because he's too selfish. I worry that she'll end up homeless with a baby because of him.
Korea does have some sort of benefits system so I don't think it will be that bad and I suppose she could go live with her mum (in China?) if things get really bad but yeah. People who succeeded in climbing Everest did it because they took safety seriously. If Everest is his goal he should climb it first with equipment and plan super properly to prevent accidents.
The second concern clearly didn't have as many votes as the first one because she should just get a divorce. She's lucky they only have one child and not more. It's best if she goes to her family and lets the guy go on amusement park rides for the rest of his insignificant life. No one should get married just because they had a child together or to be afraid of being a single parent. It's better being alone than in horrible company.

The mother is too worried about her son hiking, and it's understandable. She shouldn't stop him from something that keeps him alive. It would be nice if he uses shoes and safety equipments/kit aid for hiking.

I love the guy who hikes barefoot! He's super adventurous! I love hiking myself but my feet are way too sensitive to walk barefoot outside. I can't even get a foot massage. But being outside and enjoying nature while exercising is my favorite.

I really don't get the audience sometimes! A guy who mountain climbs barefoot, gets more votes than a guy who only sees his wife as a servant to be bossed around. One has a slightly dangerous but impressive dream and accidentally (and apologetically) makes his mother worry, the other treats his family like crap and doesn't even pretend like he cares. Wtf! But then this is the same show that didn't consider racism to be a big 'concern'.

Honestly it really frustrates me when they have parents on who have concerns about their young child because a lot of them could be solved with just a little firm parenting. If your daughter goes to too many football games then don't take her. If she watches the game instead of sleeping, take away her screen or don't take her to late games on school nights. Simple. The parents have all the control here and yet they let themselves be pushed around by their child.
I was just thinking the same thing. I have never understood these concerns, why do they buy the tickets for the games? Why do they drive her there? Why do they let her rule their family like this? I honestly think it's a disgrace that the mother sent in this concern. It's YOUR fault, not your daughter's. I work a lot with Koreans and it always surprises me how much they let their kids run their household. I know it's a cultural thing, since the older generations went through so much hardships that they don't want their kids to suffer, thus treats them like this. However, this is parenting 101... There needs to be rules ...

Dreams take risk! We wouldn't be where we are in the world if those before us didn't risk their lives to pursue their dreams! If every man or woman stopped following their dream for the sake of worrying their parents, we wouldn't be where we are today and have all the technological, industrial, medical advancements, and world and space exploration that has brought us where we are today. Society only has a chance to grow if only people take risk within that society. That first man would have killed himself if he had never climbed a mountain. Did the mother or the panel think about that? Taking away mountains from that man is the same as taking out his heart and hope in life. Mothers naturally worry about their children, but mothers also should support and love their children, as they follow their dreams!

I agree too, he could alleviate some of the worry with some backup plans in case Plan A fails. like have a team with him with equipment and ready to provide support if needed. he could hike mountains shirtless and shoeless for all I care. the wise thing in the crazy is to have preventative measures in place. :)

I think the second guy married his wife not because he loved her, but because he needed a valid reason in order to force her to come with him to the amusement parks and run errands for him. Simply put, his wife is just his servant.

Idk if it's just because I've been playing soccer my whole life, but if I knew that little girl or if I was her mom I would support her and take her to however many games she wanted and looks for good soccer clubs that could make her a great soccer player because you rarely see such passion for a sport on kids and instead of trying to change them they should support her so she can be an amazing player and in a future have a chance to become professional

I love the first story!! I love her son, I honestly don't think it is that big of a concern. He is a very likeable person, and seems very energized. I feel bad for the mother, I am sure that she is very worried, however it is what he does to find hope in life. The story about how he was going to commit suicide, broke my heart. If my son was like that and him climbing mountains is how he deals with everyday life, I would be happy I still had him in my life. It isn't as black and white as that I know, but I would rather have him climbing mountains barefoot and enjoying it than have him dead. That is just my thoughts on the matter.
