As a Fujian White Crane practitioner based in Taiwan, I can honestly say this is one of the best examples of FWC applications on TH-cam. You know a teacher is the real deal when he lets the partner attack freely and responds spontaneously in a demo as opposed to having the partner stand still with an arm out like a dummy or only showing choreographed moves.

My teacher studied this and speaks about it- the closely related and somewhat rare "Shaking Crane" style. WIth that speed and the internal energy behind it, those quick sharp strikes break bones easily. He also said the shaking crane practitioners had unbalanced chi and were a little crazy... this guy has it, but does not seem crazy. Good practicing to all.

I get the impression this master doesn't seem too concerned with comparing his style to other styles. He's just good at what he does, and if there is any threat to his life he will instinctively find a way to address the situation, and he will hurt you. Very no-nonsense. You can tell that he uses his presence to already control the situation before even touching. ---- Sanchin (and all its cultural-historical variations) is truly fascinating.

一门深入。Means Focus on Just One Style.
This is the differece between Master Ong and Master Bruce Lee.
If Master Bruce was to just focus on Wing Chun, he could have become the second Ip Mun. However he took martial art as a philosophy study and reinvented the wheel call Jeet Kuen Do and this indirectly over exert what his body can take and on the fateful 20th July 1973, he was downed with headache, took some OTC medication for that and passed away.

Seriously, the mans speeds even at his age is impressive and he makes it look so effortless, it's as if these techniques are but reflexes to him. Not to mention despite how slight his movements seem, there is good deal of power behind him. It is as they said in the video. Nice video. I lived in Asia for over 25 years and sought out old and genuine masters, who are sadly declining. To grasp the traditional teachings that are dwindling can help in the learning of mastering your own style(s). To find the seed in the curtain of clouds and indeed, the continuous training that one must prevail, you can find and understand what has been passed on through so many generations. Again sadly, that “seed” is being lost in today’s times. Take time to see and “feel” what was, and what is now. Oh, yes, I’m now over 70 and truly treasure those encounters and teachings that might get lost in the future.

      The seeker is for thrill
      Entertainment and short term joy.
It is true were forever lost as very fews is interested in a long journey of practice and only successful if the seek is found .
Even the karate 10 Dan keep seeking the original source like shaolin till bodhidharma.
Do you think bodhidharma ready teach kungfu .
      I doubt so.
      He only teach no mind
      No thinking
      No fear

I'm from Spain. I was living in Japan and practicing Japanese traditional karate for 8 years there. After knowing this style I feel that I wasted my time doing something that has been so watered down and ideologically biased that it is not even healthy. They teach you that typical "macho" kamikaze type of thinking of "always charging forward and never step back", which never matched my personality and I felt always pushing myself too much to change myself to something that I'm not.
When I was searching the roots of karate and I found the white crane style I felt in love with it. Even I'm now 44 years old I want to learn it and reset many wrong things that I learned from Japanese karate.
But here, in Spain, I think that there are no masters of this style. Where I live there are many Chinese people but I doubt there is somebody knowledgeable about this who can teach me. It would motivate me a lot to learn it because I'm now with depression and anxiety. It would be a way to correct my mistakes in martial arts which are also connected with a life being forced to be unnatural.

This was great. The way he used his bodily energy and loose limbs was very effective. He has very direct movements that should secure victory. Also the technique is not precise it is fluid, like water. Meaning all he has to to is be flexible, and overwhelm you. I also noticed an advanced spiritual energy. Not in the sense of a monk or religious man, but spirit of the warrior was prevalent. Going full speed, you can seriously hurt somebody like this.

I believe what Master Ong Chin Kwee has to say about 'spirits is true. There is a correct spirit and an incorrect spirit, that's it. According to this clip, a person can learn to harness the correct spirit by engaging themselves with the 3 battles. This makes much sense because I know that if I am filled with the incorrect spirit, I am already defeated and it is impossible to survive, you cannot, and you will end up a 'dead man walking, like me. Therefore, if I am dead, the only way for me to live and survive is to harness the correct 'spirit'. By achieving this, the correct spirit will live for me, if I am lucky, because I cannot, I am already dead. -"Boogie Theory"

I don't think it would be any tougher than the training professional fighters to through nowadays. In fact you could say the training was likely easier, though the conditions would be worse and the knowledge less, I guess that could be construed as difficulty.
There also isn't much weight moving in those strikes so they will be pretty quick, the same as a boxers jab.

This is kind of internal organ and all the main 12 nerve to rejunibenate and alive.
As age 84 grand master Ong is super at the speed.
Normally breaking limb is waste of time.
It go direct to dip out the eyes and twists the balls.
It is not heavy weight challenge but life and dead.
So it healthy and alive is more important than challenge.

    • @AveSicarius
      @AveSicarius 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@vipassanamasterzenng5780 you cannot break someones limbs that easily, especially when you are older. It requires a lot of leverage in a particular position, usually in a grappling scenario not the movements you see in striking here. It is also very difficult to accurately gouge out someones eyes, or to attack their testicles given the conditions in a real fight.
With adrenaline going, both of those attacks will not put someone down even in the unlikely scenario you get them off.
If I get you in a rear naked choke and you attack my eyes then you get your neck broken, if I'm striking and you try to attack my eyes while I'm moving my head; you get a blast to the chin.
Do you see the trade off in that scenario? I can't see very well at worst compared to being unable to fight.
Such techniques are unrealistic due to the conditions of combat and generally only included when you don't actually do any stress testing, not to mention legal issues even if you did manage the impossible and pulled it off.

Simple skills with simple body mechanics and structure practiced ad nauseum develops a ridiculous amount of refined power in the movements. "Chi" is just a concept. It's not magic. See "The deep front line" and human movement science. It can't be judged from the mechanical perspective of western boxing.
