This video breaks down the findings of a fellow diver called Krash. Some of those findings are - Armor Coverage - Armor # meaning - Armor Color Meaning - Difference in Helmets
Lol this feels like Helldiver astrology. I hope this is real because if it is it adds SO much more depth to armors which is such a fun idea and something I've really wanted. While it seems insane the devs do seem to care a lot about small details and also aren't afraid to hide info from players. I'll have to experiment around with this a bit.
This is super cool if that's how these actually work, and I am inclined to believe it. Would love to see a full overview of these effects if you guys throw that video together.
I know enemies can score "Critical hits" on you, but what if those crits were like, hitting unprotected areas? I think a good idea for testing would be to wear 2 different covering armours with a rating of 100, get hit 100 to 300 times by one scavenger and count the amount of crits each armour got. If the less covered armour has significantly more crits, we might have misinterpreted the crit system. Also, if the last hit could kill you without a crit, it shouldn't be counted as a hit. Since that one could have either been a regular hit or a crit. Edit: Testing results in replies.
@@jonnylaw1990 So I did some quick testing with 2 sets of armour with 12 resupplies(26 stims(24 + 2 at start)) and my findings were uhh, interesting. With the Drone Master armour(least visually protective of it's class(100 rating)), I counted a total of 23 crit hits And with the Exterminator(Most visually protective of it's class) I counted a total of 11 crits. The Exterminator has double the padding compared to the Drone Master and took a little more than half the crits. I feel like there actually might be something to this. Maybe we could get someone like Ryken XIV to dig deeper into this? Cause either I had dumb luck or there actually is some truth to this theory.
@@jonnylaw1990 With scavengers and other melee enemies it's completely random where you get hit. Which is why it makes me think that crit hits might be hits in unarmoured spots.
i think some of this may be ehh but I also wouldnt be surprised, it was estimated that the hood helmet does increase your speed. I thought it was more so light armors gave you less attention because of sound possibly. Its worth a look though, it kind of in a grey area but we wont know unless more people put it to the test.
The first time I learned that some parts of armor has different ratings, I instantly wished that they had their own armor mesh like the ballistic shield, I would love to see light arms literally bounce off heavy armor plates
that brings a whole new layer to the game and it is indeed sometimes very frustrating when i wear certain armor. no i keep my eyes open to realize those thimgs to happen.
Very interesting, would make sense of what the CEO said about transmog and effects. Look forwars to the video breaking down 0 -9. Subscribed, thank you 😊
I know this is very much *I made it the f up* right now. But I definitely will do my own testing to improve what I like doing in this game and see if I get better results. Look forward to better proof and more examples.
I apreciate the scepesism. I too was aceptical when Krash was telling me all this. But once I was doing some tests with him. Either his charisma is at 100. Or he is pulling a genjutsu on me cause i could see the differences.. And it was confirming some of the weird things I was seeing on my own
This is some "Charlie pointing at the whiteboard"-level conspiracy stuff. While all this sounds cool and interesting, it's definitely not true. While it wouldn't disprove anything, some easy ones to validate/disprove are the helmet with antennae and lenses to see through fog better, and the drone master tan coloration causing bots to take longer to target you. These can be easily tested one-to-one: dive into a mission with fog with the helmet and record some footage looking at a distinctive point from a specific distance/location. Then, quit out, and dive back into the same mission (same seed) without that helmet and look at the same location from the same spot. There will be no difference. The same can be done with the drone master armor. Find a normal bot, sneak up to it until it starts scanning you, and measure how long it takes before it starts shooting. This should be done specifically with unalerted bots for normalization. Then, dive in without the drone master armor, do the same procedure, and measure. They will have the same detection time.
Most of it I think is incorrect, but I reckon the actual armour plates giving you protection feels right (I noticed something like that in my own gameplay)
I must know what orange means. I need to know if its effect is helping or hurting my flamer build. (Not that I will stop using it. I have to wear the full orange set when using fire weapons. It ties the build together.)
Intriguing to say the least! Please breakdown more numbers and colors. Especially interested in the Light Armors number designations; do they follow the stratagem/aoe size values or some completely different characteristics?
I do believe you're mostly correct based on my experience. Im not sure if im as confident in the color or number designation idea. At least in how you described in the video. Maybe something there but i think that theory needs more work. I have definitely noticed watching a friends stream while in the same game as me have way better visibility while im in almost total darkness.
Ive always assumed that there’s hidden stats, like dark souls games, particularly on the helmets as if two definitely have a bonus then they probably all do but I’m dubious about all the differences here! Interesting though!
I would say this is complete BS, but I've found little obscure shit in games that is completely left unexplained - but it's still there. Keep testing 👍
If this is real, maybe it's unfinished or scrapped code. Maybe the couple of helmets that had hidden stats were part of it? We already know there are hidden stats with weapons. It's absolutely plausible that the devs had a much deeper gear system that they scrapped but there are some remnants of it in the code
how come none of these are told to us by the game seem like it really should. also could you put togther some kind of spread sheet for all the known effect and unknown effects
There is a spreadsheet. Which will be shown in the next set of videos. And think of it like the 50 stats hidden in weapons. They said they wanted us to kinda figure them out
Should they though? I like that the only way to know is to try things, I much prefer when you have to figure things out by ourselves plus it helps mène the community
Yeah nah. The colors of the armor and visor don't do anything (there are literally color palette swaps in the game files) and the numbers don't mean anything either. The 500kg does not increase in explosion radius size with the FS-55 Devastator or the CE-35 Trench Engineer and the armor prefixes only denote which kit perk they will come with (with a few exceptions and I can see them being in the wrong category or having the wrong passive explained below) CE - Combat Engineer - Every suit with this prefix has the Engineer Kit passive CM - Combat Medic - Every suit has the Medic passive DP - Democracy Protects - Every suit has the Democracy Protects passive SA - Servo Assisted B - Bastion SC - Scout EX - Experimental - Only 3 suits have this and they're all the Arc Damage Resist TR - ? - This is only found on the pre-order suits with the only pattern is that they're pre-order. Due to it appearing to be a light suit, the Drone Master having the SC prefix makes me believe it was originally slated to be a Scout suit, just as the Combat Technician armor has the SA prefix and the description of "Due to the enhanced strength caused by this armor, caution is advised when using door handles or embracing colleagues." yet it has the Scout passive, so the exception does not and will never prove the rule. If a suit of CM prefix armor comes out that doesn't have the Medic passive, but since literally every other CM prefix does, the CM is still Combat Medic and suits with CM are expected to have the Medic passive. The only thing I could see being plausible would be the armor plates/padding providing actual coverage since the devs do this for the enemies as well.
Thank you so your critique. I hope the next video with what the testing shows changes your perspective.. al least gets you to the point... "okay maybe something is going on"
Actually seeing the tests for these effects would be appreciated. I dont disbelieve you, as from what i can tell the scout allows you to see minor points of interest on the map if you hover over them before you actually discover them, and it definitely doesnt tell you that in the description, but id still like to see it in action, plus a text list of all stats for quick reference would be fantastic
No way this is true. People have done extensive testing on armors using 100s of impacts. If anything weird was going on they would have noticed. The videos are on YT and you can see their experimentation with hard data.
