You guys have a great way of sharing your luxurious life while not coming across as rude or pompous. I can tell that you are good people and you make watching your channel fun b/c the viewer feels like a guest visiting some of their mates. Thanks for that...I look forward to your next video.
Great tour, you have shown almost all important on this nice yacht. Just to let you know, Bavaria C45, C50, C57 and C57 were designed in the cooperation of Cosutti yacht design and Pulse yacht design, they did a lot of sailing yachts together, Some Salonas, Swans...Cosutti is responsable for naval architecture and Pulse for interior design and engineering, so Cosutti is what you see from outside, hull, deck, keel, rudder, sails and Pulse all you see and do not see from inside, interiors, structure, recievers, engineering...I had a privilege to work with them, great guys.
So funny. We meet briefly in a tavern in a small bay in Greece while anchoring during/at the end of a storm in 2019. And now I discover your channel on YT
Excellent review showing good and bad. You might consider losing a little wine storage to better 1st aid as per Ryan & Sophie. Great to see your new vlog going so well.
Hahaha just having a beer with Sophie now and we were discussing our medical kit. When we left the UK to sail accross the Atlantic we were actually refused antibiotics by our doctor. We eventually got them through a different doctor but it wasn't easy.
I cant remember if I've said it or not but I'm loving your channel 😄 This is a serious boat! thankyou for letting me in your home/lives its top notch👌 Cheers! James
Wow. Impressive. What a nice yacht. The style and way of presenting it is first rate. Thank you. Oh and the sound insulating of the master is important. Sleep is a good thing off watch. Thank and be safe.
Hello James and Filipa, this is Candice and Roberto. First of all we want to let you know we did enjoy immensely these fun and completely natural videos, they showed how much you 2 have enjoyed the wonders of sailing and cruising. We are in touch with Matt here in the USA and working a way to purchase your wonderful boat. We are often in Europe (we are both originally from the old continent) and hopefully will have the chance to meet you both. Cheers!
Hard to believe, you guys did sail the Med for years but N E V E R thought of those ladrats who wanna see how things are at sea, especially that BAVARIA high end yacht for 2 🤣😂🤣😂😉 (since you mentioned, due to COVID, that guest bedroom has been empty for a loooong time) it seems like, you guys do nothing else, but film 24/7 on your fantastic home?! ⛵️⛵️⛵️ 🎥🎥📹📹 Love that tour, really interesting and nice to see it all. You enjoy your beer parties and the laundry days out at sea. AMAZING yacht, no doubt and your way of presenting your video footage . . . i wonder . . . WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO all day the last years in the Mediterranean Sea? 😉☺️🤫🤔🤭 You can tell me later! 🤣😂🤣😂 Enjoy your sailings and keep those vlogs coming! 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻
I have been looking at the 57 as the boat I want. Thanks for the walkthrough. I now have to show your video to my fiancé. I think the washer in the 3rd head will sell her on this boat.
Yet another high quality production from Team Aequus! Thanks so much for sharing that detailed tour! It would be great to hear James give us his overview of how she sails, docking, what he loves, what he’d change or what you have changed etc.... Beautiful vessel and thanks so much for sharing her w us! Fair Winds!
Great tour guys, your channel is coming along in leaps and bounds. I enjoy the mix of topics you cover, some similar channels seem to concentrate on only one aspect of cruising. Keep it up and I’m sure your TH-cam viewers will take off.
Beautiful boat. Our 33 footer is going to feel pretty small after seeing this. Congrats again on your channel. Really enjoying following your adventures. Stay safe.
Clearly you have the financial ability to own a very nice, large, well equiped and new sailing yacht. A lot of sailing channels I watch, it seems they are spending a lot of time fixing everything on smaller and older boats. The constant fixing of problems while at sea would be a concern of mine. Hope to see you two that the Miami boat show in 2022.
The living areas of the yacht seem really well thought out!!! It seems very livable!! I like the separate shower and loo in the master cabin! Beautiful yacht!! Love from Vermont
Great Tour! Having everything computerized does make life easier but if something fails getting it fixed may be a problem. I feel like you gave a real glimpse into the future of sailing on a beautiful boat!
I’m sure that this question will stir up a hornet’s nest of comments, but here goes...I loved your tour video. My wife and I have a retirement goal very similar to what you are doing now. We want to do a factory pick up, cruise the Med, do the ARC, cruise the Caribbean and complete a circumnavigation before returning home to BC and cruising local waters. The Bavaria C57 is also at the top of my monohull list, along side the Hanse 588. I also want to add the Williams, just like you have done. So here come the questions. I hear so many say that a monohull for a full time couple is exhausting and the cruising on a heel quickly becomes old. Additionally, there are complaints about motion when moored. Having said that, the equivalent living space and style in a cat would be a 50’ at a significantly higher price. So I was wondering how you feel about these comments and what your experience has been? In another note, I love the Williams tender but have heard comments that, because of it’s weight, you might get caught on a beach with the tide having gone down, an you are unable to drag it to the water. Do you have any thoughts on that? Finally, do you ever feel that having the galley and saloon below deck negatively impacts your experience to a significant degree or does the Bavaria design overcome these concerns? Thanks so much for your help.
Hi Dave, I certainly wouldn't rule out a cat if we were to buy another boat in the future but as you say it would be a lot more money for the equivalent size. In my opinion there is no such thing as the perfect boat. Every boat has some sort of compromise. Questions I think you should ask yourself (other than budget!) are... What percentage of time will i actually be sailing on a passage vs at anchor or in a marina? Most people spend way more time at anchor then they do making long passages so its probably more important to be on a boat that's comfortable and has some nice socialising space. Both the C57 and the 588 would be perfect as would most cats. With regards to heeling Philippa does not enjoy it so much when the boat heels and you do have to make sure everything is stowed. But the heeling does mean you can sail upwind better than most cats. Having said that though if you are following the trade winds then the wind will be behind you most of the time so maybe this is not so much of an issue. A cat is more stable when at anchor but most of the time we are very comfortable especially in the Caribbean where the wind and swell come from a constant direction most of the time. Having the saloon and galley below has never really been an issue for us and it also means people can't see directly in when walking or sailing past although I do see that the layout on cats is probably very nice having everting on one level. I absolutely love my Willams Minijet! You would need 2 people to drag it up or down a beach but I usually use the anchor in shallow water rather than beaching it. The other big pro with the Willams is that there is no outboard engine to worry about being stolen. Support from Willams is excellent but you will need to carry spares as the nearest dealer in the Caribbean is in Florida. Servicing will also be an issue when you leave the Med but its fairly easy to do oil and filter changes yourself. Hope this helps.
Regarding the ability of sailing vessels to sail into the wind, The one time you will curse the cats lack of ability to point as against the monohull is when you are trying to tack into a seaway or heavy swell, possibly away from danger. The mono will be making progress, the cat not so much. I have owned both and after the cat I have gone back to a mono albeit older generation but still valid I think.
Aequus is a most beautiful boat and thank you for the tour ! There’s been a quantum leap in cruising comfort and technology since I first sailed with my dad many, many years ago 😊 Looking forward to seeing more videos 👍
1PAHero Might I suggest a water barrier blanket. That can deep be deployed over larger breaches through the Hull than a bung can plug. Say for instance if you hit an iceberg or a floating container. I didn’t hear any mention of a Storm Drogue/ Sea Anchor. And there’s these nifty little things that you can suspend from your boom over the side, while on a mooring ball. To reduce rocking. I wonder if there’s anyway to quiet the water slapping at the bottom of the dive platform?? Just discovered your channel and really appreciate that the two of you have very little previous experience, and now are crossing oceans on the 57 footer! Awesome!!!
The slapping we don't really mid at all, it is actually lovely to hear the water and I don't think I have ever mentioned it nor James, I am also conscious of these things but never given it a thought until you just mentioned it.. it might sound more on camera! We really don't need anything to stop rocking, we very rarely rock to any degree, occasionally we might but it isn't enough to warrant dealing with it. Thank you for your comments and for being here 1PAHero
I'll look into the water blanket as that sounds like a really useful thing to have onboard. Thabks for the tip! As for drogues or sea anchors we don't have one. I know it's a bit of a controversial topic because of the forces these things generate and the issues in deployment/retrieval. I watched an interview with Skip Novak a while ago and he was pretty anti them.
In one of your videos I think I saw that you have a scuba tank air compressor - where does it live? Thank you for the great videos - fun and informative.
Love it guys!!! Love to hear more about your Williams Minijet. How it performs when lightly loaded vs 3-4 people on board and how well it can pull a skier or boarder. It’s truly a lovely bit of kit 👌🏼
Can I make a safety suggestion ?? now that I've watched through the whole video , I saw at the end where you showed the 2 pkgs of emergency bungs under the nav station seat , you might want to take a lesson from Zingaro James whose boat just recently "almost" sank , and take those bungs out of the packaging and place the right sized one next to each and every through hole you have on the boat ** then secure each to something close to the through hole with a wire , so if there is a valve failure it doesn't float off , then the bung is right there and ready to jam in the hole !! that way you don't loose time having to run back to the nav station to grab one and then run back to the breach , could mean a lot less water in the boat ! ? stay safe
Thank you Badcat, sometimes it does help to be reminded.. Yes we know James Zingaro very well and know his situation that happened recently. I think taking them out of the bags might be the first step you are right, I think in order to wire the bungs next to the through holes, we need to buy more bungs otherwise if nothing to do with a through hole fitting we will also be running round trying to find an appropriately sized bung..
Such a great vid Jim/Phillipa, you both look really natural and just being yourselves really works for these. Boat looks amazing, wish we could have come for a trip already, defo will when Covid is done and gone.
Really enjoying your channel, keep up the great videos. I was impressed by how much brighter below deck was than older monohulls. It seems like those lower windows below the deck line really make a difference in natural light. That bathing platform and tender garage looks genius. Beautiful boat. Looking forward to following your adventures.
Love you videos. Was wondering, are most of the underfloor storage compartments dry? (ie, the ones you show with the wine, drinks etc in the galley and main salon)
enjoyed alot as always , be good to know on an upcoming video on the medical side how you are set up, the courses in 1st aid you attended , how did you prepare to deal with medical situations, injuries ???? most SV videos seem to skip this subject - one for next time
Bedroom = cabin, back of the boat = stern, front of the boat = bow , rope is a line unless attached to a sail then it’s a sheet, and grab bags are usually ditch bags but now I feel bad - and yes the anchor is important 😂
Thank you for the full tour, love your Bavaria C57! So you 2 have a really great home, i´m a bit jealous i have to say ... Looking forward to see much more from you, love your channel! Cheers from Munich, Germany
thanks for the detailed video. could you tell me about the built quality as well? For example if you know about other brands such as Hanse, Bennatau etc could you compare with them? thnks alot
Great tour Phillipa and James! It's a beautiful yacht for sure. If I'd ever consider a monohull, I'd certainly be looking at yours. Did you have a lot of previous experience with the electronics equipment you use? If not, what was the learning curve like for you both?
I approve this video! & I Definitely approve your " Bavaria C57 sailing yacht!!" Ha! Thanx for the share! Just recently discoverd your channel. Subbed & jumped onboard THE ADVENTURE
Whoever invented silicone was a gift to MANkind. I mean that sincerely, My last three GFs have been enhanced and the utter joy this amazing substance brought me is beyond words. Kind of like sailing.
Funny to hear that Bavaria has just started using vacuum infusion. A technique that other boat manufacturers e.g. Euphoria Yachts, X-Yacht and Azuree had been using for years...
Beautiful and Very user-friendly boat. Do you also have normal swtches on board for lights, bidge pump, etc? Or is the touch-screen the only control option ? Fair winds 👍🏿
Not sure if you are still checking your comments. We are Bavaria owners. Wondering the Brand of the microwave you have onboard? Bavaria has not been able to give us a recommendation for a microwave they usually install on the C57’s. Thank you!
Indeed!!! Definitely a slip of the tongue! If you open the door fully there is a full life size picture of you behind the door that we missed filming ;) .....which is there until you actually grace us with your presence Deano ❤🤣
Laundry room makes so much sence i could never figer how in 50' space they put so meny toilets it always seemed dumb some boats have 2 toilets pr person
That's a sweet ride yo! Perhaps some day my wifey and I will get to do what you guys are doing. How many amp hours of Lithium batteries do you have and can you add more should you choose to? Thanx and cheers from Denver Colorado USA.
Bavaria definitely offers more interior space than any other boat with the same length. I actually have a Beneteau 41.1 and want to upgrade to a 50 footer. The Bavaria C50 (Vs. the Beneteau 51.1) has an amazing volume inside and furthermore dinghy garage but everybody is saying me that the quality, the reliability and the after sales service of Bavaria is not so good as the one of Beneteau (I must say I am very happy in this sense with Beneteau). What can you tell me about your experience with Bavaria? Would you buy again another Bavaria? Thanks and wish you greatest adventures!
Hey Pablo, we are very happy with our C57. I recently helped another guy who was buying a Bavaria with a few things to look out for when taking delivery. If you drop me a direct message via our Facebook page I'll be happy to help.
Literally not a boat, but a floating iPhone) And if the electronics fail, then how will you turn on the pumps in case of an emergency? Isn’t the old system better with conventional and simple switches? Friends in bavaria 45 had a failure even of the old circuit breaker system at Atlantic ocean. But there you can at least turn on or off something directly. And in this case, how can you act in an extreme case? In no case think that I wish you an emergency) Seven feet under the keel)
Very nice boat, how much does that boat cost? I would love to have a sail boat and travel the world, but for now I love to ride around the isle of wight on my 85mph Personal water craft with my friends.
You've got yourselves a wonderful home in paradise and I hope you will enjoy it many years. If I may ask, if you paid the premium price, why did you not opt for a premium brand? Probably a Swan 54 would be more expensive but surely you could get an Euphoria 54 or a smaller Garcia or Hallberg-Rassy?
Just had a look at the website. They look very nice but are quite a lot more expensive than a comparible sized Rocna... Probably because they are stainless steel.
@@SailingAequus Indeed they are expensive. They use 100% Swedish Steel. I read somewhere there have been requests for cheaper models with plated metal etc but they refuse to compromise. Yes they are expensive unfortunately.
We haven't had an issue so far with 20,000+, miles of sailing. I guess if it was that rough we probably wouldn't be cooking. When on passage we usually prepare meals ahead of time to make things easier. 95% of our time is NOT on passage so having a galley that is functional when we are at anchor is more important to us.
What a beautiful and well thought out boat!! Though I think they should have spent more time on designing in the clothes washer, the garage is FANTASTIC!!!! I believe your channel will fly. I am pretty sure there are no other women who can out-look this beautiful and sexy woman on the seas. Funny thing is she is friends with another very beautiful and sexy lady, so it's a fantastic day when they are together and loading video cards and both showing them... It's been many many years since I was in England, but it all comes back to me the moment I hear her voice... Stay safe and please keep the videos coming.... Cheers!!!
You guys have a great way of sharing your luxurious life while not coming across as rude or pompous. I can tell that you are good people and you make watching your channel fun b/c the viewer feels like a guest visiting some of their mates. Thanks for that...I look forward to your next video.

This is fantastic! They should pay you for the promotional content 😜 it’s hard not to be amazed by all the features they smartly puzzled together!
Hahaha Thanks Blair.
Really appreciate your openness and the honesty in willing to share your experiences. Thank you!
Thank you Puertolex
Excellent review. Thank you for sharing us your floating dream. Sail safe, problem free.
So funny.
We meet briefly in a tavern in a small bay in Greece while anchoring during/at the end of a storm in 2019. And now I discover your channel on YT
Hi Ralph, I remember it well. Small world!
Excellent review showing good and bad. You might consider losing a little wine storage to better 1st aid as per Ryan & Sophie. Great to see your new vlog going so well.

Philippa you’re getting so comfortable on the camera that was amazing ,best yet
Thank you Tammy, that is very kind..
Thank you for the wonderful presentation. I hope you will enjoy your boat for many years to come.
Wow. Impressive. What a nice yacht. The style and way of presenting it is first rate. Thank you. Oh and the sound insulating of the master is important. Sleep is a good thing off watch. Thank and be safe.

Quite the awesome vessel, very impressive.
Great videos, going through them like a Netflix addict, lol
All well done.

Wow! What a proper Yacht! Everything is so well thought out. Thanks for the overview and sharing.
Thank you Rico
Clearly you have the financial ability to own a very nice, large, well equiped and new sailing yacht. A lot of sailing channels I watch, it seems they are spending a lot of time fixing everything on smaller and older boats. The constant fixing of problems while at sea would be a concern of mine. Just found your channel, absolutely love your boat and both your personalities. Hopefully you'll both sail down to the Kenyan coast soon. Cheers!
Thats so so so good. Educational. Number 1.
Thank you Ignotas
The living areas of the yacht seem really well thought out!!! It seems very livable!! I like the separate shower and loo in the master cabin! Beautiful yacht!! Love from Vermont

beautiful boat. Perhaps a million dollar boat but"what we really like is touch on reading light and the helm refrigerator for beer' funny.
Haha.. that made us laugh
Love your channel! Fair winds both, Cheers.
Thank you David
Thank you for the informative tour of your beautiful yacht.
Thank you Sailing Brittany..

Can I make a safety suggestion ?? now that I've watched through the whole video , I saw at the end where you showed the 2 pkgs of emergency bungs
under the nav station seat , you might want to take a lesson from Zingaro James whose boat just recently "almost" sank , and take those bungs out
of the packaging and place the right sized one next to each and every through hole you have on the boat ** then secure each to something close to
the through hole with a wire , so if there is a valve failure it doesn't float off , then the bung is right there and ready to jam in the hole !! that way you don't
loose time having to run back to the nav station to grab one and then run back to the breach , could mean a lot less water in the boat ! ? stay safe
Agree. And some smaller bungs too.

Thanks Chris, yes the bathing platform is awesome for setting up dive /windsurfing / kite boarding kit. Really nice feature to have.
Great video, keep up the good work!
Thank you Daphne..
Thank’s for the tour ! Amazing boat ! See you 😏
Thank you Fabrice..
Thanks for sharing! You truly have a fabulous boat!☺️👍🏻
Thank you Joakim
Thanks for the tour! Fantastic boat you have there!
Thank you Rui for being here..
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Love you videos. Was wondering, are most of the underfloor storage compartments dry? (ie, the ones you show with the wine, drinks etc in the galley and main salon)
Thank you Michele, yes always dry, never wet...
enjoyed alot as always , be good to know on an upcoming video on the medical side how you are set up, the courses in 1st aid you attended , how did you prepare to deal with medical situations, injuries ???? most SV videos seem to skip this subject - one for next time
Thank you Stasi, great idea we will keep this in mind to do for sure..
Excellent video. What is the max size of tender for tender garage of your c57 ?
Hi Murat, it is 2.8 metres, that is a perfect fit..
Bedroom = cabin, back of the boat = stern, front of the boat = bow , rope is a line unless attached to a sail then it’s a sheet, and grab bags are usually ditch bags but now I feel bad - and yes the anchor is important 😂
Very good lifestyle 👍👍
Thank you Rudolf..
Thank you for the full tour, love your Bavaria C57! So you 2 have a really great home, i´m a bit jealous i have to say ... Looking forward to see much more from you, love your channel! Cheers from Munich, Germany
Thank you Stefan that is very sweet, we are glad we can share it with you here..
Thanks for the tour, what a dream boat. I was wondering is that a hood in the cupboard above the stove?
Thanks. Yes its an extractor fan for the hob.
Amazing interior! Can you do a video showing how you get the tender in and out of the garage?
It's coming 😁
This is a nice boat
Thank you very much Eric..
thanks for the detailed video. could you tell me about the built quality as well? For example if you know about other brands such as Hanse, Bennatau etc could you compare with them? thnks alot
Great tour Phillipa and James! It's a beautiful yacht for sure. If I'd ever consider a monohull, I'd certainly be looking at yours. Did you have a lot of previous experience with the electronics equipment you use? If not, what was the learning curve like for you both?
Hi Diana, the learning curve was exactly that, we learnt as we did it.. no previous experience..
@@SailingAequus I'm so technically challenged that I'm still trying to figure out the camera on my phone! LOL
I love the idea of sailing, but i don't do height, how many timed do go up the mainsail during sailing
I approve this video! & I Definitely approve your " Bavaria C57 sailing yacht!!" Ha!
Thanx for the share! Just recently discoverd your channel. Subbed & jumped onboard
THE ADVENTURE
That is great to hear thank you A Rottie..
Whoever invented silicone was a gift to MANkind. I mean that sincerely, My last three GFs have been enhanced and the utter joy this amazing substance brought me is beyond words. Kind of like sailing.
How does the shower master cabin work in real life? Seems a little cheap solution but maybe it works?
The shower is amazing..
Great video😊😊
Thank you Jonny
It's an awesome yacht , laid out very well .
Thank you... yes they did a good job
Beautiful boat - but you already know that :)
hahaa thank you Mik ;)
Hi. Nice and very helpful video. Planning to buy a CR50 and wonder what you think for ocean crossing with them? Not comfortable as blue water boats?
Not sure if you are still checking your comments. We are Bavaria owners. Wondering the Brand of the microwave you have onboard? Bavaria has not been able to give us a recommendation for a microwave they usually install on the C57’s. Thank you!
💥correction 2nd aft cabin is named "Deano's Cabin" - I will expect this update in your next video 😉
Indeed!!! Definitely a slip of the tongue! If you open the door fully there is a full life size picture of you behind the door that we missed filming ;) .....which is there until you actually grace us with your presence Deano ❤🤣
@@SailingAequus soon my shipmates!
Great video, when deciding on which boat to buy did you consider a Catamaran?
We would consider a cat though we have never actually sailed one, we do love our beamy boat though :) thanks for being here Andrew
@@SailingAequus Yeah a truly beautiful boat... enjoying your videos they get better each time 👏🏻
Isn’t there also bunks
Laundry room makes so much sence i could never figer how in 50' space they put so meny toilets it always seemed dumb some boats have 2 toilets pr person
agreed
That's a sweet ride yo! Perhaps some day my wifey and I will get to do what you guys are doing. How many amp hours of Lithium batteries do you have and can you add more should you choose to? Thanx and cheers from Denver Colorado USA.
Thanks. We only have 300ah of lithium at the moment but we are planning on adding at least another 100ah.
@@SailingAequus may I ask what some of those items are to look out for? Cheers from Denver Colorado USA.
Hi Paul, thank you for your comment, there are actual manual switches for the bilge pumps also...
Hi guys! What about piracy? Have you done something about that?
Wow 😳. Your boat is fully equipped. Its the biggest Bavaria monohaul. May I ask is it worth buying a catamaran for the price you paid for B57?
Depends if you want a catermaran or not. For the same money you would be getting a smaller cat for sure.
Very nice boat, how much does that boat cost? I would love to have a sail boat and travel the world, but for now I love to ride around the isle of wight on my 85mph Personal water craft with my friends.
Awesome, awesome, awesome.
Thank you Johnny, very much..
Outstanding German sailing vessel- 👍
Thanks Robert..
Great buoyancy aids.
Bavaria (in my mind) used to be synonymous for a (very) lousy product.
This C57 however looks like a serious improvement. Enjoy.
Yes, I think Cocossutti yacht design did a really good job revitalising the Bavaria brand
Excellent boat, great decision..
Thank you Onar..
Ah yes the Axe, so if there is a whole under the waterline you can make another whole next to it for the water to leak out! ;)
By the way, you will think Rocna anchor is great until you try an ULTRA anchor!
Thats only backwards forwards in the galley what about leaning , heeling, and rolling . Its along way from one side to the other , timbeeeeerrr
We haven't had an issue so far with 20,000+, miles of sailing. I guess if it was that rough we probably wouldn't be cooking. When on passage we usually prepare meals ahead of time to make things easier. 95% of our time is NOT on passage so having a galley that is functional when we are at anchor is more important to us.
but are they real?
What a beautiful and well thought out boat!! Though I think they should have spent more time on designing in the clothes washer, the garage is FANTASTIC!!!! I believe your channel will fly. I am pretty sure there are no other women who can out-look this beautiful and sexy woman on the seas. Funny thing is she is friends with another very beautiful and sexy lady, so it's a fantastic day when they are together and loading video cards and both showing them... It's been many many years since I was in England, but it all comes back to me the moment I hear her voice... Stay safe and please keep the videos coming.... Cheers!!!
Thank you Steve, what a beautiful message to leave,
