    One thing I've found works well for stripped screws, like in a door hinge, is to superglue a toothpick shove it in the hole, then put in the screw before the glue cures..take the screw down totally but gently, wait a minute then final torque it like you normally wood. Holds just like new.

    2P-10 can be used on any material as long as it is clean and the surface is well prepared. The surface should be clean, with no oil, and slightly etched so the glue can bite more effectively. It should not be used in lieu of a weld (on metal), but it is very effective for tacking, to hold a piece in place. Paul

    Miracle shop adhesive! Professionally, we referred to it as, "The Carpenter's Secret". (I use thick gel for most every application). Warning: With the activator sprayed on one side, it sets up your two pieces like LIGHTNING- with no time for re-positioning. So plan ahead.

    I was using 2p-10 thick on pine molding with an 80 tooth saw and was having issues with it bonding and actually expanding the miter a hair. I ended up using 80 grit away from the finish surface once cut and then it looked like it was absorbed into the wood better and made a perfect bond and tight miter. Would a lesser viscosity wick better into the smoother surface? Great stuff BTW. I wish it was around 25 years ago.

    The only issue with gluing solid wood miters is with wood glue the proper procedure is to fully coat both sides of the miter. The wood glue will seal the pores of the end grain and reduce movement because of changes in humidity.

    Which is better for getting down into shake and other "crumbly" lumber to shore it up: (1) Medium or (2) Thin? Thanks.

    • @FastCapLLC
      @FastCapLLC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, both will work. If it were me, I would start with thin to really seep down into the pores well and then do some final coats with medium to make sure it stays more on the outside.

    I love 2P 10. I prefer to you the jel, not thick/med/thin. It’s a must have in everyone’s jan at our company . We are contractors most of us specializing in carpentry. Someone told me it’s made locally in Washington too, not sure if that’s true or not but

      @PNWGrown Thanks so much for your input on our 2P-10! Our 2P-10 isn't made in Washington state but it is made here in the USA.

    Soooo, I tried to use that on my ebony wood picture frame and it didn’t work at all, any suggestions?

    • @voiceofreality9741
      @voiceofreality9741 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ebony is a very dense and smooth grain wood. 1. you need to sand the mating surface and use acetone to draw the oils out of the wood before use. Sounds difficult but only the mating surface needs it about 3/4 of the joint area and be sure to NOT apply an excessive amount of the product. There are other exotics out there that need the same process. Very heavy or large frames still need mechanical fastening after this product maintains correct position for you.

    Hi Paul
    How do you think, 2P-10 can be used in melamine faced Particleboard furniture assembled with wood dowels?
    The procedure I think is this way:
    Fill as necessary the hole bored on the components with the GLUE.
    Spray the dowel with the ACTIVATOR.
    Insert all the dowels in all the holes of the sides (RH&LH) of the cabinet
    Assembly the cabinet and mantain a pressure on the joints with dedicated devices.
    Wait XXseconds untill the glue sets.
    While we wait the glue set, we can dress the cabinet with hinges, drawers, etc.
    Actualy we use 16x8mm. diam. dowels without glue +8 minifix to mantain the cabinet closed.
    The minifix can be changed to dowels and we can have 24 glued dowels in a normal kitchen cabinet base.
    Do you tink it will work?
    regards
    Gerardo

      I'm 100% sure it will work, but it's not a question of whether it will work, it's a question of whether not it's the best solution. You have to test that against your current operation and see if there's an advantage. Paul

      Hi Paul
      The advantage is less time compared with PVA glues in cabinets traslation afer assembly.
      I´ll wait to test it in a new facility in Mexico at the end of this year and if it work, cost vs benefit will be evaluated
      regards
      Gerardo

    is it good for plastic?

    How careful do you have to be spraying activator around the glue bottle. Will it ruin the bottle of glue if fumes are around?

    • @FastCapLLC
      @FastCapLLC  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just simply make sure the overspray is not in the direction of the glue bottle. The bottle should be clearly to the side or behind where your spraying. If you make a mistake, and the bottle catalyzes, simply call us and we will replace it no charge. Paul

    Does P2 10 work on glass, plastic or other surface other than wood?

    I used this recently and the activator discolored my Azek light colored decking. I used it to glue my miter cuts. Any input on how to remove it? It is appeared a couple days later as a tan stain.

    • @FastCapLLC
      @FastCapLLC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So sorry. It probably won’t come out. That’s why it says don’t use on plastic and test on a small area before use.

    This guy's a good demonstrator but he should learn how to say aliphatic instead of alphetic.
