I’ve had a Honda HRX 217 for many years now. I’ve put it thru a lot. I think it’s a fantastic mower. Just started to have some similar problems with the drive wheels. Most videos, on this subject, just talk about cleaning up the corrosion on the driveshaft/axle. Yours gives me another thing to check. Thank you!

Is this a real fix? Did replacing the spring work for you?

      @@Double_Jinx My spring is fine.
and wheels are locked pulling the mower backwards. I was hoping you had a different solution. Oh well.

ATG advised Honda about their lawnmowers locking up in reverse (backward movements) & they done nothing.
Because they knew they have fooled many with $500.00+ junk after 3.7 years.
The transmission designer should be fired long time ago but didn't. So now Honda, like Husqvarna, is out of business.

These machines come like this brand new. Garbage design. I use this hunk of junk to mow my parents lawn. Dad bought it before he passed from cancer and that is why he bought it. Thought it would be easier. Going forward yes but not backwards. So even brand new i used it and hated it. My back would be in pain by time i was done mowing from amount of force rewuired to pull it bsckwards. Loved going back home to use my basic old fashioned style mower
