Pon and winter can be a lethal combination for plants, and I'm sorry this has happened to this Anthurium 😢 I have found that removing the reservoir and watering it through as if it's soil works better during the colder months, unless it's a plant that has just been transitioned to Pon. If this is the case, I just do half-reservoirs after the 2 week transitioning period of just watering the Pon through without a reservoir, and let the reservoir completely dry out before half filling again. I will then slowly increase the reservoir level once the temperatures start to rise. Also, if I have a root rot issue and the plant is going to be in soil, I will leave the soil dry for 24 hrs so that any chopped roots can heal before watering. I have found these methods work for me after a lot of trial and error. I sincerely hope this plant recovers well for you 🤞🤞🤞
That coir mix makes me a little nervous. I'd have added a bunch of chunky perlite for aeration. I've been rehabbing in tree fern/perlite with great success but as they say everyone's environment is unique so do what works for you! Wishing you success!!

😂 I guess it's the London accent. I really do think that it's the cold weather that affects my plants. I usually have good results with pon in the summer but the opposite in the winter
That's funny i have the same plant that had almost died in soil it was just a stump with good roots, and i just switched it to Leca and it immediately put out a giant perfect leaf in obsessed with it. I'm using larger sized leca in a clear glass, just one jar not a 2 pot set up. I can see through only one small part of the root system rotted in the transfer.
@@RootsReady nope I'm in Las Vegas, mine is inside but my house is at 75F in the winter so it just gets the ambient heat from heating the house. Do you not heat your house in the winter? We use the central AC to keep the place comfy but it only gets to about 40F at night. So yeah mine doesn't have to worry about the roots getting colder in Leca in winter.
Oooh thats a nice plant!! I have a crystal mag x lux seedling. Iove it! Anyway thats the reason I water my "Pon" like soil and never leave a resevoir. To be fair its DIY PON and the resevoir is BARELY a resevoir, like if u lift the pot there is none of that water draining sound. That is how ive avoided root rot. Do i have to water every 7 days, yes but i dont mind. But i also have way less plants LOL. Good to ya!
@@RootsReady Mine seem to have been doing well. I have had these long stringy things growing out of some of my plants, like my Anthurium. One caladium and my Silver Dragon bloomed. I had no idea they could do that.
It's because you are using the wrong POT you need a self watering pot with a whisking string that adsort the water slow without that soaking at the bottom of the pot

I am hoping that this mix is the best of both worlds, well draining but able to maintain good moisture around the roots. It's a tough balance to reach
You may need to add Zeolite and Charcoal to your Pon to help purify your water. 🪴Happy Planting🌿

That method has work for some of my other plants like my king Anthurium. It's something I will do more off in the future
