  • This Wing Chun training lesson teaches a basic trapping technique against someone attempting a push.
    While Wing Chun trapping is a great technique. It’s not one of those techniques that you can always use. In other words, either the trap is there to take or it isn’t.
    I know, that doesn’t sound like a great answer so I will elaborate a little bit. Because we are always focusing on developing our sensitivity, you can feel when it is the right time to use a technique faster than you can think about using the technique.
    It’s been my experience that the best time to pull off this specific type of trap is when your opponent is putting more pressure in front of them than you are. So essentially because they are “forcing forward” you can take and use that extra energy to create the arcs you need to put your opponent into this type of trap.
    Whereas if you try to trap for the sake of trapping alone, chances are your trap is going to fail you. When I am teaching my personal students I tell them all the time, that I can *FEEL what they are thinking. What I mean by this, your body responds very quickly to what you are thinking.
    Often times your subconscious automatically starts obeying you even though you are only thinking about it. Often times this can be felt through the way the body starts responding. This is one of the reasons we put a lot of effort into learning how to become more sensitive. The more sensitive we are the faster we can feel what is happening once we are connected to a person. More often than not, we feel faster than a person can think.
    It’s at this level of sensitivity that trapping becomes a deadly weapon in your arsenal.
    Happy Training!

    These videos make me realize how relaxed and confident you have to be to become grandmaster level at this martial art. Everything you do has to be so fluid, and you can't accidentally tense your shoulders, arms, elbows, literally anything or you can lose your balance or flub your technique. And most people even with proper training will not be able to remain completely calm and relaxed in a self defense situation, so I have EXTREME amounts of respect for anyone that is putting in the work to become great at this martial art. What a display of pure discipline, focus, and fluidity. Thank you for the great video, I hope to learn more from you as time goes on.

    Love that small circle. I guess that’s the whole point of huen Sao. I do huen Sao the wrong way. I try to make it as stealth as possible. It looks like it’s supposed to be exaggerated because it’s job is the misalign the incoming force.
    🙏🏿 gratitude.

    It's amazing how you can move your hands with Wing Chun it's very handy martial art in karate I wish I could had stayed in my karate class chemical bond with Kung Fu in judo any other martial arts it could be a very deadly style and a very powerful powerful weapon indeed it all depends on how fast you are and how much speed you can react how much speed you have cuz sometimes speed is everything you're fast enough to move your hands in your body into one single strike 🥋💪😉👍🥋

    Making videos like this is hard ppl get to armchair quarter back the results...like im about to do. The only two points ill bring up is the fact that in order to trap he i hope ppl understood the you have to stop walking back and step forward or else he we stop gather and keep punching. Next is while i appreciate the arch detail the fact that he took the guys hands in two different directions "splitting" his energy is also a key factor to making this work. Thanks for the video.

    Cantonese 小念頭 in English is "Siu Nim Tao" instead of of Siu or Sil Lum Tao as appeared on the subject.

    • @entertaichi
      @entertaichi  ปีที่แล้ว

      One of the reasons we use Sil instead of Siu is because there is more keyword traffic on Sil rather than Siu
