Tears are running down my cheeks as I watch this video knowing that soon I too will be in Glory "Where the Roses Never Fade" to reunite with all the loved ones who have gone before me. You guys do one of if not the best versions of this song I've ever heard, 5*****s! May God's blessings be upon you all, Jeff
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful and touching performance.. it is my daddy's favourite song.. he left 16 years back.. and I would like to sing this for him someday.
We did do this at People's Church, and have had a lot of compliments on it, which I give all the Glory to God! Regarding the steel guitar, it was added in later by Ted!
My old band, Rise and Shine, used to play the Agape Club too. We really looked up to the TJB and wanted to be just like them. I had the privilege of doing some recording and playing with Paul Dobbs. The guy is a great steel player and he is the one I remember playing with Ted. He also played with Paul Overstreet.
Yes! Teddy & Fresno The Early Day's I went with Teddy & The Band To Many place's Where The Word Of Jesus We had the Pleasure to Bring & See Many Saved,Piled in to Doc Nobel's office Many were saved,Good To Remember !
Many thanks to all of you who put a "like" on this video, it's a beautiful song, and I'm not just saying that because we're playing it, it's just a great song!
I couldn't see the steel player's face. However, for many years Teddy's steel player was Paul Dobbs. The heavy use of harmonics is a signature sign of Paul's too. This looks like the "People's Church" in Fresno. Given that Brumely is from Bakersfield, I would say that Dobbs is the picker here. Lots of variables in the music business so I certainly could be wroing. :>)
You can see the steel player's face in the Play My Fiddle/Orange Blossom vid that Ted has posted. Check it out at about the 4:50 mark. I don't think it's Paul Dobbs... it might be Brumley.
You are correct; it's not Dobbs. I'm not positive that it's Brumley yet. He didn't wear glasses that I can remember. Fresno had a couple of really good steel pickers back then. I don't recall their names since it's been awhile. Teddy used to play out at the old Agape Club in north Fresno/Pinedale years ago.

Paul Dobbs is a very close friend of mine, whom I've known for over 40 years!

My wife was diagnosed with scleroderma in 1970 and passed away in 1980. Horrible diseases
Love this song but the closed captions are horrendous. Please, someone redo them.
