There's some similarity, but she was milles ahead in terms of access and Pakistan affair... She was a friend of Sonia Gandhi... And had a child with a Pakistani elite called Salman Taseer (who later became the governor of Pakistani Punjab and assassinated)

Since Amritpal escape story surfaced, many media channels have had pundits on who have categorically said that Bhindranwale was Indira Gandhi's creation who then got 2 Big for his boots and had to be removed by her police. Till now nobody has even ever mentioned Sanjay Gandhi's name. And throughout the period since independence Akalis have been the biggest enemies of Punjab. We all saw how they spurned the farmers protests because they wanted to keep making large sums in the Mandis.

Although I was student of Panjab University in 70ties at Chandigarh and remember the time and events.Always knew he was product Congress and Giani Zail Singh helped him.Only today I came to know from Tavleen Singh that it was Sanjay Gandhi, quite revealing.Very ENLIGHTENING and refreshing.

Few days ago on Barkha Dutt's Mojo Story, Tavleen Singh Ma'am was suggesting Indian and Punjab Govt to have a talk with Amritpal over this Khalistan Resurgence ! 😂 Her POV was completely discarded by all the 5 eminent panelists, she has clearly lost the touch with reality.

Tavleen before used to say good things about BJP & then her son was refused visas to India because he had written a false piece on Modi and India. His allegiance has always been with Pakistan, being the son of a Pakistani man, although he is supposed to have been brought up by his maternal grandmother. And since this incident Tavleen has become anti BJP & Modi. If she was that fair she would have condemned what her son did and continued to support BJP.
This was the moment where she understood how totalitarian and intolerant BJP is

From the very beginning they have sold out India to others, not allowed any infra structure development of any significance, brought in changes unilaterally only affecting Hindus, throughout have appeased the peacefools who are showing their true colours. The peacefools were never restricted unlike the Hindus. Islam and Christian religions have no restrictions placed on them but Hindu religions and Hindus have and the Congis have the gall to call India secular when they have been the most discriminatory against the Hindus. Congis brought in the "Places of Worship Act" in 1991. Then they brought in the Waqf Act 1995. The M community is using this act to usurp land and property that has never belonged to them.
Tavleen Singh is one of the few independent voices we have out there. Good to hear her opinion on this.

Shekhar Gupta mentioned in one of his shows that Tavleen Singh was the one journalist who wasn't in awe off Bhindranwale and wasn't bullied by him.
Frankly, that is one fact of redemption for Ms. Singh, who is otherwise absolute crap all the time in all circumstances.
Frankly even Hindus aren't feeling bullied by either Bhindranwale old or Bhindranwale new. But we sure are trying to find our way out of secularism.
I wonder if you realised that the very condescending outlook bordering on contempt for Hindus is as prominent in Tavleen Singh and the other Indian "secular" elites as it probably is amongst the Pakistanis? Hostility towards Hinduness is a shared trait of both the Pakistani as well as Indian elites post 1947.

I want the "all" to include Hindus also. Secularism leans on the shoulders of Hindus but pretends they are subduing a Hindu monster. Secularism wants Hindus to be a put up as a punching bag, where everyone who declares himself to be "not a Hindu " can have a go at. Secularism has no legs to stand on its own. This is a secularism which couldn't get itself to stand against 'sar tan se juda', which encourages Hijab simultaneously as it mocks Ghoonghat, It is all for Christian evangelisation of Hindu communities. And now it has got Sikhs as the latest entrants to have a go against Hindus. That is all there is to it. Actually it would be good if all Christians and Muslims and Sikhs also genuinely become secular instead of the Sham which passes for secularism.

Every other gurudwara in Punjab has photos of bhindranwale being venerated......Hindus outside Punjab don't know much I guess....majority of the Sikhs in punjab support bhindranwale but are prudent enough not to go against India as they have realised it's not practical to do so

The whole lot of bullshit is added to isolated incidents.
There is a respect for Bhindrawala in Punjab due to his opposition of Nirankaris and other religious issues of the time, and finally got portrayed as Martyr after 1984. He was not a person to settle political issues, religious leader should never do politics. Some of his statements against Hindus were embarrassing, and the majority never agreed or took those statements seriously. To the date, there isn't any Hindu, Sikh issue in Punjab. It is always against the center when it comes to major issues. Most Sikhs living in cities go to Hindu Temples as well.
Kps Gill is hated for human rights issues. 10s of thousands of innocent sikhs were killed and burnt/dumped in rivers under KPS gill. Just a data of 2-3 years in 1 district for unidentified bodies gathered from cremation grounds gave number of 7000, and punjab had 14-15 districts at the time. Later, that activist was also abducted and killed by police.
KS Brar is not hated as such but he isn't liked due to his role in operation blue star. I personally feel he was just doing his duty. Fact of matter, even Brother of Bhindrawala was doing his duty outside golden temple during operation, who was also in the army.
Killing Suri was unfortunate and a big failure of police to protect him. Though he was no Saint, he gave statements like "killing sikhs" and taking sikh women when everyone goes aboard. When killed, he was protesting against another Hindu organization, which was running the temple some operational issues, not any Hindu sikh issue.
There are 2-3% radicals in both the religions, but they are on the fringes. One fringe support Simarjeet Mann's Akali Dal, other supports BJP.
So, in short, most of the issues in Punjab are created by central and state governments of the time for some political benefit.
Also, Tavleen indicated as well, practical or prudence are the last words you associate with Jat Sikhs. They are not RSS who plan for decades ahead. If tomorrow BJP announce Hindu Rastra you will see the "prudent attitude" of Sikh as well as majority of Hindus.

The Sikhs seem to have forgotten this. Their ancestors were Hindus. Just like the "M" community the Sikhs are behaving like they have no connection with the Hindus.
