Jimmy proved all wrong
Pretty incredible that in the four seasons he’s played in Miami they’ve been in the finals twice and the conference finals once considering that the majority of those rosters are undrafted players. He really did prove that he was undervalued in how he was seen at the time. Even Philly caved to Ben Simmons since he wanted the ball over Jimmy and he left to go to Miami. And now we see what happened with Ben. If he does end up getting a ring with Miami it’ll be one of the top “bet on yourself and prove all the doubters wrong” stories especially if we see Philly not get one by the time he does. He already proved they made a mistake in handling him like they did to appease Simmons but at the time Simmons was an all star and he was seen as the future so it wasn’t nearly as wild of a choice to have made at that specific time. But while it’s clear they made the wrong call already it’ll truly be hammered home all the way if he wins it all with Miami and a roster that hasn’t been stocked full of all stars like a Philly has been and has made moves to grab stars like we saw with harden that didn’t pan out.

Nothing wrong with what Butler is doing. Wiggins and Towns are a couple of guys who are happy just putting up their stats, and living out their max contracts. They have zero competitive toughness, and you'll never win anything with their type of mentality. Butler is absolutely in the right.

Everyone on the TWolves has handled this so badly, its a joke. First of all, if Butler was really such a great player and leader, he should have been able to rally those guys to get the most out of them. Instead, he probably gave them some passive aggressive BS about not working hard enough. Jimmy Butler works hard, but that attitude is not getting him anywhere. Second, those other guys are just acting like babies. They're young, but come on, Butler should have gotten more respect from them. Third, Thibbs really should have been able to dampen this a lot more. Most of this should never have touched the media the way it has. A good leader is able to manage all kinds of personalities and get the most out of them, even when those parties might not like each other so much.

In this generation where opinion and fact have the same value. I come to find the word honesty to run into the same dilemma. Being aggressive and brutal with people even if there is some truth to what you say is not how to conduct yourself as a leader. Why is it we excused that behavior and chastise the opposite? Constructive criticism and being demonstrative are not the same thing. It's easy to say "jimmy is right, he is telling it like it is.." yet the majority of people would not respond well to that approach. In fact that approach and Leadership will get you reprimanded in most jobs.
Sal Garcia I agree. I think people just like to side with toughness but they don't see that this whole thing just makes Jimmy even more disliked by players. Today's NBA is not like the 90s where a teammate can scold another player and it's ok. Kyrie said the other day that leadership is about empowering your teammates. Steph curry does that without criticizing. People love playing with him. I also think jimmy is jealous of Kat and Wiggins. They have more natural talent, don't have to work as hard as he does, and get paid more. And they are having fun.
