Part of me feels bad we inadvertently finessed Jimmy too. We knew he was a fiery competitor. We tried the sign the old vets move to try to fight off the rebuild. Ultimately we needed to rebuild and, as fans, I think most were happy to let him go the way maybe like a wolf (pun intended) you rescued as a young cub and raised built up it's strength and was ready to go out and do its thing. We really genuinely thought this was a good fit for him and the Wolves. It's really not the Bulls or Jimmy's fault that their stars aren't maturing fast enough. People talk about Towns the way they talk about Derrick Rose or something. Derrick Rose was ready to win since day 1. These guys are not like that. Jimmy really needs to go play with his peers. Get him in Houston or LA or OKC. He needs to play with other 27-30 year old guys who are ready to win. The Wolves just aren't. Honest and unfortunate mistake by all parties involved. Jimmy has been like that awkward cousins who is 7 years older than all the other cousins but too young for the parents. He has never really played with healthy guys his age since Rose got hurt. And it's perfectly natural in the modern NBA for him to want that. I think he's tried to avoid going the superteam route at all costs, but he also wants to win. You kinda just have to go that route at this point. You just have to.

Most wasn't what I would call real ball players, plus they had more years. You'll never have a consistent winning environment with teammates like that.
