What I like about your video is you get to the point. It's not about being loud flipping your hair doing duck lips being extra etc. Just straight to the point thanks dear.
I recently started making an ayurvedic oil myself. My second batch is infusing now. I used close to 50 ingredients (🙈) including powders and dried herbs. It's hard to limit it once you read about the amazing properties that these oils, powders, and herbs possess.
ikr? it's hard to add under 10 ingredients. this mix should last me several months. what are some of your favorite ingredients? next week, I'll make another with more whole ingredients vice powders. i try to stagger my oil mixes by making 2-6 total, every 2-3 weeks. i make my dry mixes as i need them and let them sit for at least 3 days before using them.
@@HealyMeans I don't know if I have any favorite powders just yet. Maybe amla, brahmi, fenugreek, hibiscus, aloe vera, and rose? I kinda did the thing people warn about and jumped into this full-speed ahead! 😆 But I will say that I enjoy dried herbs (nettle, horsetail, dandelion root, rosemary, eucalyptus, marshmallow root, burdock root, chamomile, green tea, black tea, and peppermint tea) and have been experimenting with teas for my hair and to drink. My plan is to let my second batch infuse for 6-8 weeks and then use the sediment for a new batch after straining. I went overboard with my measurements. 🤦🏽♀️
hi nawi 🤗 no irritation from this combination of ingredients i use this oil in small amounts, most on wet hair. sometimes i dilute it with other carrier oils, but even when i use it straight, i have no issues. i used everything shown in the video. tfw 👍🏼
hi m 🤗 yes, it is. try it 1 part base mix to 3-5 parts carrier oil and/or other carrier. you can add 1tsp-1tbsp to prepoo, shampoo, conditioner, leave-in, styler, hot oil treatment...this base mix is very versatile. i also recommend adjusting the measurement of ingredients to your liking, allergies, etc. tfw and commenting.
Yes, I'm an auyurvedic person. I too watch other people making their own recipes. Nappy Fu, SheRae Delasol, and some others. I appreciate you all for the tips that you give.
Wow! I'm loving these ayurvedic instruction videos. I also use different ingredients every time I make ayurvedic oils and pastes 🙈 I have never let the ingredients infuse for a month. I'm going to try that in my next batch. Also, now that the weather is getting warm, I'll try placing my mixtures outside for the infusion process. I buy different oils that contain ayurvedic ingredients and tend to use them on a daily basis - there are a lot of great ones in the market. I use my mixtures for hot oil treatments and to mix into my DCs. I just started incorporating ayurvedic ingredients into my regimen about 5 months ago and I have totally transformed my hair. My hair is so much fuller than it used to be. I can't wait to see my results after 12 months! Great video!❤
Ayurveda is good for the body - inside and out. the reason i let them sit so long is to increase potency. that way i can dilute a portion and use in different ways ... and continue infusing the rest of the mix. it lasts forever. inside scoop - i have a jar of lavender-infused and calendula-infused oils (flowers are still in the jars) that are at least 6 *years* old!!!! haven't used them in a while, but it's by the drops 😂🤣 stay safe
hi gg 🤗 same here. i decided to create what works for me. and being a DIYer, i can tailor my formulas based on need, preference or creative spark (on a dime/per batch...i dont have to wait for a new line to be released). i enjoy the convenience of store-bought products, but my heart will always be DIY. tfw
I'm soo glad I found this video & your channel!! I was conflicted over how many herbs and powders I could put in one recipe because they all have their uses and didn't know of it would counteract, but this was great! Can't wait to whip up a batch to use! Thanks for sharing your recipe and video!
hi letti 🤗 glad you enjoyed the video. i may have gone a bit overboard with this recipe (lol). i do believe you can do too much, but if you study the synergy between ingredients, you can pack more (or less) into one mix. this is definitely one of my "kitchen sink" mixes, but my hair really likes it. after the initial infusion timeframe, i leave the oil in the herb mix and stir once a month or so (keep the jar in a cool, dry place, tightly sealed). i fill a smaller bottle and dilute 50% with a light carrier oil, which helps it last longer, while still imparting the benefits of every ingredient. thanks for watching and commenting 😊
I am very interested in this recipe and i have just about every herb you named. However i got a question. What would happen if i used henna powder? I do have cassia obvata but just curious. Thanks! I'll be following.😊
hi gretchen 🤗 i have very limited experience using henna in my hair oil mixes. depending on how long you infuse the ingredient, it may impart a color to the oil. im not sure if it would show any color change on your hair. if you try henna, please let me know your results. tfw
I also make my own Ayurvedic hair oils... I don't buy it from stores, cause the last time I did that.. my hair ended up thinning 😢.. maybe it was an ingredient that my hair didn't like 🤷♂️.. that's when I started making my own.. thank you for sharing, new Subscriber.
hi lovelycherry 🤗 the best thing about making your own hair, skin and body products is that you know what's in it. i also like that i can make small batches and modify the ingredients based on my current needs. thank you for subscribing to my channel ... back at ya! 😁
The first time I tried cold-pressed neem oil, it was so smelly and thick, I almost threw it out. Thankfully I had the bright idea to mix it with a deep conditioner and add essential oils to mask the smell and make application easier. It's now one of my favorites and I don't even mind the sauteed onion smell anymore 😂
hi unit coordinator 🤗 you are so right. i use neem oil for DIY hair, body and garden products and the smell is 🤢. it doesn't bother me like it used to (thank goodness), but i rarely use it on its own - essential oils and other products definitely help with the smell. thanks for watching and commenting 😁
Hey Healy 👋🏾👋🏾 I’m excited to see part 2 of this video! I’ve never made anything like this for diy, but I would like to give it a try. What does sunlight do for the oil? Thanks for sharing 💛🌸
Hi Curly T 😃 I started DIYing a very long time ago - with one or two ingredients, then added more as I researched, self-studied and learned. I've been (on & off over the years) creating internal and topical mixes, recipes and formulas of all sorts....and I really enjoy it! Sunlight is a natural and environmentally safe heat source that supports ingredient infusion into the medium (oil/water/vinegar/etc.). During inclement weather/seasons or if I need something quickly, I use the double-boiler method - although not preferred (personal preference). This oil will be part of a general health regimen. I'll start using it around the 4th of July and let you know how its going periodically. Greatly appreciate your continued watch/comment support. Stay safe.
hi thandiwe 🤗 most definitely! i recommend making it in small portions at a time (1/2 tsp - 1 tbsp of oil residue in 2, 4 or 8oz, depending on how often and how much you plan to use and how potent you want the spritz). no matter what your liquid is - water, aloe vera, coconut water, hydrosols - keep your spritz in the fridge unless you add a preservative. on it's own, the spray should be good for 7-10 days in the fridge...but always do a visual and smell test before applying. of course you can also keep the spritz in a cool, dry place (but im not certified to recommend that). hope this helps! thanks for watching and commenting. 😊
hi bindiya rohit 🤗 thank you so much for watching and commenting. i really appreciate your comment. i have done a lot of research over the years and a lot of it was reading ayurvedic literature to better understand each ingredient i use to make my hair oils. because i dilute this base oil with other carriers (it's very potent on it's own), it takes me a while to use it up - even when i share. but it's almost time for me to make another batch. what ingredients do you recommend? tfw 😁👍😁
Hi beautiful, that is great the oil last so long you only have to make it twice a year. My hair loves olive oil and sweet almond oil. I still haven't tried jojoba oil but I didn't know it was a wax...very interesting. This oils sounds amazing for the hair. I love the Now Foods brand for the oils. I have to stay away from tea tree oil now b/c I'm allergic. Wow! Sit out for a month. This sounds great and neem oil does have a strong scent to say it nicely. LOL. FW and have a great day.
Hi lovely Jackie 🤗 this mix is very potent. i normally dilute it with another carrier oil and use as a scalp massage, hot oil treatment, etc. sometimes i use it full-strength on the bottom half of my hair or the ends - just depends on how I'm feeling or what my hair needs at the time. i really appreciate the FWs - i do the same. stay safe 😊
hi tracy 🤗 i use this hair oil several different ways - as a hot oil treatment, added to my deep conditioners, as a scalp nourisher, to seal and protect my ends...and added to hair butters. be creative - #DoYouBoo 😁 thanks for watching and commenting.
Wow! These are some awesome products, I can’t wait to see the end result. Will you remove it from outside if it’s rains, or will it sit there for the entire month?
luckily where i am, it shouldn't rain any time soon. if it does, I'll put the jar under something but try to keep it outside. the mix is in an airtight jar, so it'll be ok. i can't wait to use this oil. stay safe 😊👍🏼😊
Good morning friend 🌞. In your video I noticed your neem oil is very thick, almost like molasses, I make all my natural oils at home, if you made the neem oil yourself can you please give me the recipe of how to make it that way, I love to try it. Thanks and have a blessed day 🙏💖
hi maria 🤗 i did not make this bottle of neem oil. to make it thick like that, i let it sit with the top open for a couple hours a day, two or three times a week over several months. it makes a thicker consistency - almost like a concentrate, which helps to "bulk up" my hair oil and make it less drippy. this is great for when i use the oil to "grease" my scalp. it also mixes better with other ingredients i use to keep pests out of my garden (helps the formula stick to the plants, even after a light watering). this was an accidental discovery, but it works for me. hth. tfw 😁
