I will always be grateful to Women Within! When I wore a size 30 and had a very difficult time finding clothing to fit, this brand saved me. Some of the clothing is outdated but this brand provides affordable clothing to women who may have limited options. Thank you for doing this video!!
@@AudreyStar17 agreed, every time I click on the links in the description because i'm interested about a piece of clothing she shown.. I back down. Way too expensive a majority of the time.
I agree. I have a knee injury at the moment and can't wear jeans and their sporty knits are saving me. And with their frequent sales and coupons, I can afford multiple colors of my favorite pieces.
I agree that a lot of their stuff is not super trendy. But it's an affordable and sometimes only option for extra plus size people. While I support the sentiment that we should all have access to cute clothes regardless of size, they should be given credit for not only keeping extended plus sizes but also expanding to even bigger sizes. While so many companies are shrinking their sizes, they are one of the very few who have not. It's not a perfect option but I hate to see then dragged for aesthetics more than anything else.
I have a hard time buying from a plus-size retailer that doesn’t use plus-size models. Most of their models aren’t even midsized. But I do occasionally find a gem from them.
the lady from Real Housewives was in one of their catalogs years ago, in it modeling swimwear or something. It's the lady from Atlanta who was a model and started her own agency. I don't remember her name now but you have to laugh at a company that markets itself as true plus size, then uses sz 6 women. So insulting.
The thing I hate about woman within is the use skinny models. Put that crap on plus size girls who will actually show what it really looks like!! You should call them up and let them know!!
I agree and have complained many times to deaf ears. I guess if you're a size 10 now, that is considered "plus size". What, do they want us all to disappear? LOL
thank you so so so so much for saying this - and thank you to EVERY person who echoed the sentiment. For a short time - woman within did seem to hire ACTUAL plus size models. Now most of the models are small and wearing clothing that they're swimming in. I hate it - I can't wait til I have enough money to NEVER buy from woman within or ANY Of their catalogues again. That is the dream
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Woman Within honey you have to know how to style their clothes. I absolutely love that they still carry pure cotton natural fabric clothing. That alone sets them far above the rest.
I think anyone 50+ is hesitant to drag on WW. Chubbies today are going nuts that Old Navy is limiting instore plus options. I get it. But 14 year old me remembers when WW, Romans and Lane Bryant were it. End of story, goodnight. No online. No 2-3 racks in the back of straight sized stores.
I'm 44, and I remember those days. Being a teen and having to shop at Avenue or Lane Bryant, with their horrible floral prints and businesswoman blazers. Regular stores rarely went up to size 16 back then, and 18? Forget about it.
@@sarahrodrigues9849 I do sometimes shop at WW, but I never even knew they had physical stores, so I only found them online several yrs ago. And now Avenue and LB have thankfully gotten a lot better clothes than they had in the 90s.
I am 46 and I can remember when I turned 17 I would drive four hours to shop at a Catherines. We had no plus sized anything in our area. My mother was a seamstress and sewed many of my clothes (from age 10-16) to match my friends trendy clothes. I was the only plus sized person in my friendship circle. I hated that my clothes were homemade. Nobody knew but me but I was so embarrassed by that. Now I look back and realized how blessed I was to have a mom who cared so much. As an older teen Romans and WW were my go too for clothes.
I'm just saying..... All of those items looked really nice. I am a "smaller" plus size woman but I appreciate Women Within for the price point.... AND because I'm more apple shaped than pear, so I can't do crop tops or really body hugging tops. Thanks for this review!
WW has a great price point and have many options to choose from especially online. I appreciate that they have extended sizes for people that cant wear store bought plus size or wear larger than a traditional 3x. They truely have helped many plus sized ladies look great through the years and allowed ladies who cant physically shop be able to buy clothes and have them shipped.
Yes I thought she looked great in that! But many outfits also I wonder if she ever pulls a shirt out and wears it over top of her skirts and skorts instead of always tucking them in?
Woman Within is affordable for those of us on a limited income, and who wear extended sizes. I would rather look a bit "dowdy" (which I don't!) than wearing things that are too clingy and revealing. That would be ridiculous at my age.
I agree... Age or size! All that clingy stuff is cringeworthy! I feel like they see people on tv or on the stage wearing some things and think that they can wear it on a day to day basis. It's just not suitable for regular people.
@@roxazaloah her ranting on Instagram today about the “mean comments” on this video really prove this. People were rightfully criticizing her and instead of trying to understand them, she acts like everyone is attacking her. Its sad
@@Eda-Fox I saw that. What a joke. She can't handle any sort of criticism, valid, constructive or otherwise. She really gives me narcissistic vibes especially seeing those "mean comments" reactions of hers. I'm glad I unsubscribed a while back. Her content and attitude just isn't what it once was when she was still pushing the "trifecta of love" or whatever it was. Her hauls also used to be more in depth rather than just outright slamming companies for her inability to get the proper size for herself. The other thing that made me chuckle is how she says she works "so hard" on her videos. They're the most low effort videos I've seen from her now. She just opens bags and tries on the clothing, doesn't make an effort to make it presentable (ie ironing or steaming the wrinkles out which makes them look crappy), doesn't make any effort to style them up like she used to, no suggestions how or where to wear them, it's just frustrating. I didn't know that trying on clothes was such a tough job....
I feel like showing that I have a figure is pretty basic. Not skintight, by any means, but well-tailored. Some of these hang like a tent. Just my opinion. I’d rather wear clothes that create more of a waist. You don’t necessarily have to have one naturally…trust me!
I'm a WW customer. "Dowdy" is subjective, and a classic look is always in fashion. I was a seamstress for several years, and I dressed executive women in a classic way... they looked neither old nor boring. Dressing a figure properly is not a common skill anymore, and blatant and glaring colors shapes and fabric designs are the only look the young will countenance. I feel this is simply because they don't know a better alternative. You can make better quality than you can ever buy. I have a set of master patterns I have used to sew my own clothing for over 40 years. If I were sewing for you the look would be up to date, but without the obvious lack of taste common in most ready made clothing today.
Hey Anna I am old (68) & live in a nursing home due to MS, I don't feel old but I buy from WW because its affordable & they deliver. Sizing is a challenge from them everything runs big. Feel free to send me all your rejects.
My mom (60 years old) loves this company. She does suffer from chronic pain and RA, so the comfy and soft materials work really well for her. She orders from there often and loved that they had skorts 😂
I am 59 and I am in chronic pain 24/7/365. I like tbe soft clothes from this company. My husband hates when I find something I really like because I buy them in several colors. I just wish their fabrics did not fade. I try everything to keep the clothes from fading. So I am glad they have excellent sales.
Hi Vickie! My grandma told me a trick several years ago to help clothing from fading (also to keep red clothing from bleeding in the wash). Soak the items in vinegar (and let them dry) before their first wash. This will “set” they dye and keep them from fading as fast. It’s not a perfect fix but I’ve found that it does help the fading process to slow down significantly. 😘
Frumpy clothes are not an age thing. I am 59 and very stylish. So when you don't like something frumpy please don't liken it to age. Otherwise I love your energy and you. 😊❤
Yep. I unsubscribed to her because of that. I'm 50 and I've never been frumpy and never will be if I'm lucky enough to get older! Age is just a number!
@@triciag3311 YEP. Age & size are just numbers. It's the person who makes the clothes, not the other way around!! I'll be 51 this Fall & proud to be "old, matronly or whatever, but never FRUMPY!
OMG, I'm early 30s and I love the crinkle knee length & midi length dresses... love them with cardigans for work & jean jacket for casual wear. Never disappointed with fabric as no fear of ruining after 1 wash like so many items owned from lane bryant or torrid
This is the most flattering and age-appropriate clothing haul that I've ever seen you post or wear in the entire history of your social media presence.
She seems to not comprehend that she is the demographic they're catering to. Anna, why do you think you are not the old people you keep mocking, because I assure you, you are.
I agree. She usually wears her clothes way too tight. These clothes all looked much better and fit her better than usual. She didn't look nearly as lumpy.
As someone who watches your channel from the heart of the Midwest, I really took issue with your “Midwest 4th of July” comment. There’s nothing wrong with that look - some of us who are bigger just want to be comfortable and aren’t into wearing super tight clothes 🤷🏻♀️
Didn't Anna grow up in Illinois or something? I'm pretty sure she was referring to that from experience. Different strokes for different folks, but midwestern mom-core is its own look that isn't for everybody.
@@GretaZ-dd3lu This. I originally had in my comment (and deleted, because I didn't want to be rude) that . . . this definitely isn't a common aesthetic in CA. That doesn't make it bad at all, but it's ok to acknowledge it's different and not suited for how Anna prefers to style herself (and that's ok, too!).
I agree 100% style is personal and not all of us are into the crop top craze for us larger ladies or extra tight fitting clothes that shows every lump bump and excess we have. I sort of took issue with the grandma red top. And the Midwest to. I don't think style or what we find cute and fun has a thing to do with where you come from.
This brand saved me a few times because in the early days of online shopping, they were one of the few that shipped to Hong Kong where finding plus sized clothing is nigh on impossible - everything is geared towards teeny tiny females and generally the largest shoe size for ladies is a 39 or a size 6. I found some great pullovers and tops at Women within and was happy to have found them. Yes, some of their stuff is quite dowdy and matronly, but their prices are great and their shipping is fast! I have mentioned this before, but I really wish that clothing manufacturers for the plus sizes would stop using all of the synthetic fabrics like the polyesters etc. Do they think that just because we are plus sized we don't like or deserve natural fibres? I already sweat enough as it is in the hot weather in Hong Kong and to wear synthetic stuff that makes me even hotter and sweatier, that literally sticks to me is a big no! Thanks for the video!
Can you get some natural fibre fabric and use the sweaty clothes to take patterns from? Or get a seamstress to do it for you if you can’t sew? Must be so frustrating. The shoe situation would drive me nuts.
@@dees3179 I don’t tend to buy synthetic clothing for that very reason. Tailoring clothes is not cheap anymore either so that’s not really an option either. I tend to buy clothes when I’m back home in Australia even though it’s the wrong season. Yeah I’ve had to get used to not being able to buy fashionable shoes cheaply. There are a few places but again, not cheap. At least the online shopping options have improved greatly.
I'm not familiar with this brand, so when I saw your intro, and based on the video title, I was prepared for some genuinely dowdy clothes. Instead, most of the pieces looked great on you (that red top would look amazing with a chic pair of white linen pants, and it really flattered your body shape). Based on the comments below, this brand is beloved by many who feel unseen and are underserved by other brands. I love your content but even as an objective outsider, I feel that your video title is very unfair, and the comments below prove that many people do indeed shop at Woman Within. And yes, ageism is a thing. Equating advanced age with frumpiness is par for the course in a culture that fetishizes youth to the point of sexualizing children, and is deathly afraid of any sign of ageing. So it's a good idea for all of us to be aware of this unconscious bias. But you can be stylish at any age, and also, style doesn't equal trend. It's just as important, if not more important, to dress for your body shape, your personal color palette, your lifestyle, and your personality. There are plenty of pieces I've seen from so called trendy sites that are so goddamn hideous and are totally unwearable. Every single piece you showed today is completely wearable and realistic for a plus size body, as opposed to what you'll get on the so called trendy sites. And let's not forget the budget, too. I think a brand that stays faithful to its customer and delivers decent quality, reliably styled clothing should be commended, not vilified.
Valerie, I agree with everything you said, minus the statement that these pieces look great on her. In my opinion, they don't. I don't think she dresses for her size or IN her size.
@@AnaTorres-os8wt 100% this. If only she dressed in the size she is and not the size she says she is, we could get a better appreciation of the clothing. And while I do not know her exact age, I suspect she is on the other side of 40, and that not that far away from "old lady" lol
Thanks for this haul. As a 50+ year old Midwesterner who owns that red 4th of July shirt, I really enjoyed this. WW is good if you are choosey and have a looser hold on "fashion". You are so appreciated!
I'm also a midwesterner that liked the red shirt. In fact I liked it best out of everything she showed. I definitely have a different style than she does. I thought she looked really nice in it too.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes the red shirt. I may need to get one for the 4th now. Might get some loafers and elastic waist wide leg capris with a permanent press crease in the front just to keep it 💯. Lol jk but I do like the shirt.
Wow Anna I have been watchingnyou for a long time and this is one of my least favorite videos you have done. It's not because i don't like the piece nor it is because you don't look nice because you do. It's because even though Woman Within is not the typical trendy shopping spot, it is one of the very few affordable with variety places that us super plus ladies can shop and still look classic cute comfortable and sometimes trendy. If felt so much negative energy from the beginning of this video which set the tone of it for me. I still love you but come on now they carry pretty much all sizes and the sizing is pretty much true to size.
As a former size 30/32, Woman Within was one of the only places I could get clothes. I wasn't happy about shopping there, but didn't have much choice. It took a lot of searching to find young, stylish clothes. Their clothes are so inconsistentent in sizing and often cheaply made. It's just sad. Plus size people deserve better. Also, there was not a thing wrong with that red shirt you said looked like something people would wear at a Midwest 4th of July. It was just a simple red shirt and pretty classic. I'm a bit crabby today, I'll admit it, but I don't appreciate anyone acting like those of us from the Midwest can't be fashionable. That sounded really snobby and judgemental. Also, I feel like often you wear your clothes far too tight, and these clothes fit and looked good on you, even if some of them were ugly and cheaply made. I'm an average sized person now, but I don't want skin tight or revealing clothes. You can look sexy without everything hanging out, and still not look dowdy either. And while I'm ranting, get some damn plus size models to model your clothes WW! It always drove me nuts that the clothes looked several sizes too big on the models. Get people that fit the clothes!
I agree with you re the Midwest. I’m on the east coast but how dare people think the middle of our country isn’t just as valid in every way including fashion.
The Midwest comment was simply a joke. I’m from St. Louis and I didn’t take offense to it because I am extremely fashion forward and trendy plus size dresser. They have options for conservative people and fashion forward people.
@@Iworkwithnitwits i agree. I am not an exhibitionist and do not buy clothes that have my bust hanging out for public viewing , and I hate the discomfort of tight clothing. Woman within has a lot of sporty snd pretty clothes .
Honestly I thought everything at least seemed to fit well, even if it wasn’t very exciting. I’ve been actually buying a lot of stuff at Avenue lately. They sell quite a few brands now, and it is all incredibly affordable.
Catherine’s used to have great quality clothing when the brick-and-mortar stores were open. I shopped there almost exclusively for professional clothing, and their seamless microfiber panties were the absolute best! Now that they are part of WW, quality is nonexistent. The same old WW clothes are marketed as Catherine’s brand…ah, no. No. Poor quality fabrics, terrible construction. I MISS the MAGGIE BARNES line and the REAL CATHERINE’S!
Anna what happened to you? I'm not subscribed to you but I remember seeing video of you a long time ago doing yoga. I really enjoyed watching that video. I'm disappointed that instead of hearing what people are offering you about your attitude re: older people, you're doubling down. It's not about the clothes, it's is really about the attitudes we have towards each other "beneath" the clothes, makeup, money. clout etc.
I think many of the clothes looked amazing on you and fit better then the stuff you usually wear. Mini skirts actually fit you properly & some of those dresses look great on ya! The red top..lol.. I'm from Midwest. Yes- yes it does... but in all seriousness you looked MUCH MUCH better in Most of their cut and can accessorize the ShiiT out of it.
I love your fashion hauls! You are always honest with your opinions and I appreciate you pointing out flaws as well as the positives! So many times nowadays the hauls I see are nonstop positivity (10 out of 10 recommend) even when an item is clearly defective or see through or any number of other issues. Most other haulers won’t dare discuss how an item would perform if they actually sit down in it. Thanks for the video! I appreciate it!
You seem to think women over 50 are frumpy, dowdy, and undesirable. That’s ageist and annoying. I’m 53, and the most attractive I’ve ever been. Change your messaging around women and aging, please. It’s really insulting.
I actually don’t think that at all. I think marketing to older women sends the message that they should dress frumpy and dated. I know many amazing older women who dress fantastically. However marketing needs to catch up to what the modern older woman wants to wear.
@@GlitterAndLazers You made a lot of references to frumpy or dowdy clothing, and you linked those references to aging, grandmothers etc. I’m glad you don’t think older women are undesirable. However, that message was lost in your video. Other ladies my age commented on this as well, so you might want to consider that there is merit to our opinions, and take care in how you reference older women going forward. Alienating anyone over 50 really limits your audience.
I’m 46 and I thought her perspective was funny as hell bc it’s me 😂 here I am running around looking for that July 4 outfit and I will have my corn dog lemonade and sparkler wearing my old fart WW T.
I feel like the title is misleading… you liked the majority of the items. Also, literally every item looked good on you. I know you had issues with the fabrics but they all looked nice.
All of my nightgowns, summer and winter, come from WW. Also my cozy flannel bathrobe is from them and I love it during our Michigan winters. It's ok that they aren't your style (or mine sometimes too, other than the pjs) but it's also ok for the people who do like their clothes to wear them proudly.
“It's ok that they aren't your style but it's also ok for the people who do like their clothes to wear them proudly.” THIS!! I think that this sentiment should be used as a tagline on every single clothing haul on here. It perfectly sums up how everyone should feel while watching these videos. Thank you so much for saying this!!
while i agree with you that the brand is mostly outdated. There are cute clothes and at my heaviest thats all i could wear and i am grateful they are around. While you might not enjoy everything, they have its like everything else you learn to shop there. basics are always basics.
I've never tried their brand but will now. I have a small budget and need some basics in my size. I do very little online shopping. I'm willing to try them now. I go for soft fabric, cottons whenever I can.
@@evettabush4882 i only shop for basics like leggings, yoga pants and so forth. my suggestion is to truly read the info on the item and any reviews they do bait you with what you see versus what you get.
The company that sells Woman Within also holds several other plus size clothing names… Eloquii is a younger focused more fashion forward one of those companies as well as others…I think Woman Within knows it’s audience and caters to their likes. One thing I don’t like about this family of companies is that usually they don’t use plus size models which is really unfortunate.
I appreciate their size range, I appreciate the price point, and I appreciate that the pants/shorts my grandma likes have been available for the last 40 years from them. But the entire catalog doesn't need to look like it's all the same stuff for the last 40 years.
Stop using alienating verbiage and terms like old lady and old people. I’m sure you’ve made peace with being a plus size woman. I can remember a day when you would have been labeled “Super Plus”. Folks would have bashed you for wearing stripes and that flower top you have on. And definitely would have come for you for wearing tight mini skorts. But you overcame those days. Age is something we can’t change. If lucky. But age also has nothing to do with fashion. I don’t know what kind of 4th of July picnics you’re going to, but the grandma’s at the ones I go to, aren’t dowdy. I follow tons of Plus size influencer’s. Even when unhappy with a haul, they NEVER liable a look old lady or make those of us ( that are older) feel like idiots for following them. Watching this was hard. Quite frankly I felt how could she of all people be comfortable with labels. Some of the pieces you chose were cute, but some were not. I guess my point is. If you’re an influencer, do you really want to alienate a whole group of women because they’re older? 🤷🏽♀️ Women Within has been a source for women unable to afford top name fashion’s for plus women. Do another WW haul. But without the ageism. And only pick stuff you know would be worth your time.
The clothing doesn’t work for those models because they don’t fit their bodies! You missed an opportunity to express the importance of showing plus size clothes on plus size women. My grandma doesn’t want to look “hip and cool”. She feels comfortable in the clothes from Woman Within. It’s important to remembering that we won’t always be in our 20s or 30s. There will come a time when we may want to dress more modestly or more for comfort, rather than fashion. We do t want to edge those businesses out for more of the same.
I have been shopping at Woman Within, Roamans, and Catherine‘s for as long as I can remember because they are the only companies that make clothes in the size I need. I hate it because I want cute modern clothes but I have no choice. I’m 60 years old and I have been shopping at these stores since my 30s and I just wear what I can fit in. No styling in the equation. In fact, I was told at the Catherine’s store in St. Louis Missouri that some of their stores had more hip clothes but that they went by demographics so therefore my store was geared toward older women. I hate it.
@@BlackTruth1 Nobody asked for a rude opinion. I'm sure she was really surprised she hadn't thought of that👿 and happy that you are such a wealth of insight....
I've never heard of this brand and personally haven't thankfully had to shop at the brands Debra listed but I hope to God this doc person gets their account deleted. It's not cool to be hateful or to talk about someone you don't know. To the original person commenting I don't know you but don't let anyone ever break you down. ❤️
WW has some great things, especially their jeans. Other things might look dowdy but it depends on what you wear with it. My pet peeve about them is their shipping costs….. holy moly!
“Jeans and leggings” made sense to me, coming from a cold climate. That’s legit 9 months a year, here. I LOVE the orange and pink top. I love the colors you do. The bright and pastel together is so fresh.
different strokes for different folks. I agree that it's unfair that a lot of Plus is matronly- but I do think it's sort of missing the mark when you critique the style of the clothes rather than anything else, really- but you choose to shop there. So....not sure what you were expecting?
Back in the day Woman Within was actually Lane Bryant. They were also criticized for not using plus sized models then. But they were about the only place you could buy plus sized fashion.
I loved the two red & pink dresses. I don’t think you have to be on a boat to wear marine. It’s great for summer, if you wear dark colors (I usually don’t).
I'm glad that you found great things but the "hard pass" clickbait and title is kind of disappointing. Isn't the point to show that they have some great pieces. And a fantastic size range
I shop at their group of sites for things like sleepwear, tshirts, tank tops, and underwear. I agree that their buyers are outdated and behind the times. They need to step it up. // We also should talk about their swimwear. Awful awful stuff unless you're under a size 24.
Somehow I managed to keep myself clothed via the OneStopPlus brands for 45 years, so I would not bad mouth it at all. I have had very good luck with all the basics, the crochet pieces, jeans and trousers, activewear and intimates. I have been size 16 up to size 34. I have shopped many other places as well, but you can't mess the Perfect Tee or the button down shirts up.
I have really good luck finding reasonably priced office appropriate clothing and suits at Woman Within. The prices with coupons and sales are unbeatable by other plus size clothing lines for office style attire.
Honestly those clothes are made for your body type. Everything was flattering. The quality is off..sad. I’ve worn that military green skirt with a white button down years ago. They use to sell suede skirts. But I agree there is now better fashion options.
I agree that they are pretty awful in quality, but I have to shop exclusively at Woman Within because they are the only place I’ve found that consistently has extended plus sizes. If anyone knows of online stores I can find roomy size 6x clothes that aren’t sleeveless or above the knee, please let me know.
I like Women Within for t-shirts, leggings, sweats, and stretch jeans. However, YOU are the one that turned me on to their sports skorts years ago! Ellos has some nice stuff for like secret pajamas.
tons of people do like dressing like that. just because a clothing store doesn’t carry your style doesn’t mean nobody will want to wear anything in it. i honestly thought this stuff was cute and while i understand wanting to dress trendy there are plenty of those who have their style and stick with it. i’m sure she has good intentions but this take was kinda not it (at least based on the thumbnail).
I love that they have "matronly" clothing. If you are looking for pieces made from classic fabrics, cuts and patterns, it rocks. I love that I can get the same dress in cotton, linen, seersucker, courdory, denim ect... they have the best grandma night gowns!
WW has some great base pieces, the shorts, leggings, tank tops, all sorts of t-shirts etc at really great prices, and you did find some cute dresses! You want too stick to cotton / jersey type for best quality. I don't think those items are frumpy more causal. If you are looking for something for a night out or really dressy, NOT here at all.
The red/pink/pink tank dress and the shorter one in similar colors with the cute short sleeves are really cute. I want the shorter one (I’m not as comfortable in sleeveless, myself, but should probably get over it).
So out of 14 things, you liked 9. And this was a “hard pass?” I agree that this brand has a lot of possibly “matronly” outfits, but seems to me you liked more than you disliked. I have bought from there several times and usually keep much more than I send back. I think you were a bit too harsh on this one honestly. Still love you though ❤️
They definitely help with pricing as others have mentioned. I would love to see plus size models. Their pieces are also good for layering with trendier pieces.
Girl I cannot watch your videos anymore!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣I buy soooo much of the stuff you review and am never disappointed!!!!I would say we have matching wardrobes by now!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
I definitely like the style of clothes from woman within. I'm not from the USA so I can't shop there. I'm 34, a mom and apple shaped with a much bigger bust. I like to look feminine but I really don't want to dress for the male gaze. I want modest clothing. There is just this idea that women are only empowered if they give random men a free peep show and I'm not in favor of that. I choose who sexualizes my body and when. Other women can be so mean about modest clothing and I find it kind of upsetting. I'm fed up with being called 'frumpy' and 'grandma' because I don't want to dress to be arousing to random men.
@@Msleonoraful I stopped wearing certain clothing because it would create a certain reaction from strange men when I was out in public and it lead to uncomfortable and even frightening situations. I had a think about whether or not I wanted this to happen and about who these clothes are really created for. Women's contemporary fashion trends are created for the male gaze, to make women seem more sexually accessible in view of the public. I'm not comfortable with that personally, I want to choose who sexualizes my body and when. I used to believe that when I wore these clothes, I was just wearing them for myself and maybe I was in my mind, but then when I analyzed it in depth I realized that my experience was far from empowering and who the creators of fashion really made these clothes for.
You can be fashionable and modest. Kate Middleton isn’t running around in skimpy clothes neither is Amal Clooney. Jennifer Hudson, Adele - plenty of examples. It is ok to say you are not into fashion and trend toward practical. But, it is not right to equate fashionable with immodest
I recently thrifted a shirt that was originally from WW! It’s a charcoal gray button down baseball shirt with white contrast stitching and a lovely gentle flare to it, and it’s a little loose on me so it reads “art teacher” in a way I really like. It’s super soft and hangs well! Kind of a rayon/linen vibe to it. Admittedly I haven’t ever checked out their website, but the item I have has made it into my regular rotation.
I can't believe the negative bs you flip the choice to stick to modest clothing. Believe it or not, there is a whole culture that doesn't involve looking cute and childlike. Women of every size and age choose modest clothing because they are comfortable in it and like not being a distraction to everybody within a five mile radius. Women Within is a terrible company but the style isn't the issue. It's the sizing, the material, and the quality. I love the red tank, btw :D :D It's classic.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't look to someone who calls her channel Glitter and Lazers to be super supportive of modest fashion. If her style perspective seems too narrow minded, maybe she's just not the vlogger for you?
@@rebeckabarber112 I think someone who goes on and on about inclusivity might consider her negative language regarding modest dressers. I found her comment about how there was no reason for it in the modern world to be particularly tone deaf.
@@koshersalt179 I agree. I've bought from this company for 30 years. I still have some of the clothes I bought 30 years ago. They have held up well and are still fashionable enough staples. Skirts, blouses, t-shirts and I'm wearing an ancient pair of their shorts right now. Perfect for every day kicking around. I'm personally not at all comfortable in super tight clothes like she normally models. This is the first video in a while that I liked all the stuff she showed. I thought the yellow dress was too tight on her but otherwise it was all really classy. It's not matronly. It's called CLASSY.
I loved this video! I used to shop Women Within and Roamans. They had this cute oversized, shag, baby pink cardigan I will wear until it falls apart....but I won't shop there again. Their customer service was terrible when they shipped me the wrong size of something else and would not do an exchange. Also, their sizing is a bit inconsistent.
OMG that sweatshirt skirt totally reminded me that in high school I had a pink terry cloth skirt with pinstripes down the side that I wore with a white v neck Tshirt and mt knock off addidas with iridescent stripes and I thought I was so cool.
Hmmm I think you're title doesn't match the video You liked some of the pieces I shop there They have many basics There and Roamans have really helped me when I can't find a top that is long enough or big enough They offer so many sizes shapes and colors Hadn't seen some of these pieces though will have to look again :)
My favorite was the color block tiered dress. I recently got a cardigan from Woman Within as my first purchase from them and it surprised me by being lightweight and I love it. 💕
My two favorite things in this haul on you...that teal cardigan...was ahhhhmazing. And (of course) that mauve top. While it was oversized, I really liked it on you. It looked cute and slouchy. P.s. you're beautiful, stay honest!! Love you to pieces!!
Women Within has bought out seven different stores. Woman Within had Jessica London and Ellos for younger styles. I’m 66 and in my black wide leg cotton yoga petite pants I look damn fine at 66 - my Ellos Trapeze Tee in sailor anchors is gorgeous. My shoes are cute,” too. If you want to buy the giant cat tees, go ahead. I also shop Target, Old Navy…I like some of your style, not all. I like a classic style . A gramma “4th of July shirt is okay with your light denim jacket works. Just my opine. I’ll keep watching !
Women Within, Roamans, etc are cool for affordable basic standards like leggings, boleros, dress suiting, & nightshirts. But also the reason I keep my measurements handy. Because the models are not plus-size at all.
I shop them a lot for my basics - t-shirts, basic pants, cardigans, some jeans, business casual tops for work. When they have sales, and then sometimes a coupon code on top of it, the price is Right! You do have to pay close attention to fabric and some styles are matronly, but there's a lot you can make work, especially for larger plus (I wear 26-30 depending on item and cut.)
That green striped tank is a great cut on u, very flattering! Also, u look amazing in the hot pink dress! I swear your best colours are hot pink and red, they always look great!
I will always be grateful to Women Within! When I wore a size 30 and had a very difficult time finding clothing to fit, this brand saved me. Some of the clothing is outdated but this brand provides affordable clothing to women who may have limited options. Thank you for doing this video!!
A great point!
yeah... I don't have the budget for a lot of the things she wears, not the closet space... so WW has always been helpful.
@@AudreyStar17 agreed, every time I click on the links in the description because i'm interested about a piece of clothing she shown.. I back down. Way too expensive a majority of the time.
I totally agree!!
AMEN!
For such a harsh intro on the brand (that many people obviously love), you seemed to have liked most of the items. 🤷♀️
I have a hard time buying from a plus-size retailer that doesn’t use plus-size models. Most of their models aren’t even midsized. But I do occasionally find a gem from them.
They use straight size catalogue models, smh
the lady from Real Housewives was in one of their catalogs years ago, in it modeling swimwear or something. It's the lady from Atlanta who was a model and started her own agency. I don't remember her name now but you have to laugh at a company that markets itself as true plus size, then uses sz 6 women. So insulting.
@@VABmo Cynthia Bailey?
They use normal models and somehow the clothes still look fugly on them!
@@jenniferbooth9235 Yes that's it!
LOL
And they seem to find the skinniest models!!
@@Janadu If you’re above a size 4, you’re plus size according to the fashion industry.
Right? It’s so insulting. Tiny stick women in the jeans and jeggings can’t show me what my Size 18 thighs are going to look like in those clothes.
thank you so so so so much for saying this - and thank you to EVERY person who echoed the sentiment.
It’s still matronly. They need to polish up their image and update styles. I’m old and I see that.
Me too
I think anyone 50+ is hesitant to drag on WW.
I'm 24 and I buy from WW to this day, they have good basics and I feel like a lot of people like to hate because they have nothing better to do 🤷
@@sarahrodrigues9849 I do sometimes shop at WW, but I never even knew they had physical stores, so I only found them online several yrs ago.
Lane Bryant is so expensive. I will only buy from there if they have clearance and/or sales.
It's funny to me that the red tank top you dislike so much is one of the things that actually looked the best on you.
I adored how it fit in the back, but I agree with her that it was a bit dowdy from the front. A lower neckline might have improved it a bit.
I do sometimes feel like she assumes everyone has the same budget for clothing as she does. In my dreams!!
I agree... Age or size! All that clingy stuff is cringeworthy! I feel like they see people on tv or on the stage wearing some things and think that they can wear it on a day to day basis. It's just not suitable for regular people.
@@fairlyvague82 Anna is extremely tone-deaf to her audience it seems, as well as life, in general.
Some of us plus size don't like to wear skin tight clothing that shows everything .
I feel like showing that I have a figure is pretty basic. Not skintight, by any means, but well-tailored. Some of these hang like a tent. Just my opinion. I’d rather wear clothes that create more of a waist. You don’t necessarily have to have one naturally…trust me!
Exactly
Pp

I LOVE skorts! 💜 😁💜
I guess I need to get a skort!
I am 59 and I am in chronic pain 24/7/365. I like tbe soft clothes from this company. My husband hates when I find something I really like because I buy them in several colors. I just wish their fabrics did not fade. I try everything to keep the clothes from fading. So I am glad they have excellent sales.
Same. I'm a lot younger, but I have RA and Lupus, and sometimes I just HAVE to wear their clothing
You actually look better in these clothes than your usual ones. Not everyone wants to dress in tight clothes meant for people under the age of 21
Absolutely
Yup. Agreed. Not every body is screaming “I want body con!” I doubt I’m not the only person who wants to blend in, not stand out.
Frumpy clothes are not an age thing. I am 59 and very stylish. So when you don't like something frumpy please don't liken it to age. Otherwise I love your energy and you. 😊❤
Exactly, I am 61 and a grandma but I don’t dress as one ‼️

As someone who watches your channel from the heart of the Midwest, I really took issue with your “Midwest 4th of July” comment. There’s nothing wrong with that look - some of us who are bigger just want to be comfortable and aren’t into wearing super tight clothes 🤷🏻♀️
Right I'm in the midwest too and I'd definitely wear that lol 😆
I thought it was super cute.
Yes disappointed loved ordering from them.always had lots of sizes
Valerie, I agree with everything you said, minus the statement that these pieces look great on her. In my opinion, they don't. I don't think she dresses for her size or IN her size.
WW has great younger fresher designs with its Ellis line. Ulta Popken does as well.
Honestly I am almost 40 and really liked that 4th of July shirt lol my style is very different from Anna (not in a negative way just different )
I'm also a midwesterner that liked the red shirt. In fact I liked it best out of everything she showed. I definitely have a different style than she does. I thought she looked really nice in it too.
As a Midwesterner I thought the red shirt was cute and flattering on Anna 🤷♀️ 😆
Hello from Illinois my fellow mid westerner! I am 53 and have that shirt in 3 colors😉

I used to visit the Catherine's store a few decades ago and their clothes would make Woman Within seem like Torrid.

Anna what happened to you? I'm not subscribed to you but I remember seeing video of you a long time ago doing yoga. I really enjoyed watching that video. I'm disappointed that instead of hearing what people are offering you about your attitude re: older people, you're doubling down.
“It's ok that they aren't your style but it's also ok for the people who do like their clothes to wear them proudly.”
THIS!! I think that this sentiment should be used as a tagline on every single clothing haul on here. It perfectly sums up how everyone should feel while watching these videos. Thank you so much for saying this!!
You need to size up one or two sizes. If the clothes fitted properly they would flatter rather than emphasise your shape.
while i agree with you that the brand is mostly outdated. There are cute clothes and at my heaviest thats all i could wear and i am grateful they are around. While you might not enjoy everything, they have its like everything else you learn to shop there. basics are always basics.

Um…I’m 47 and the “grandma at 4th of July” blouse was my favorite item you tried on. Slightly offended…🥹
I appreciate their size range, I appreciate the price point, and I appreciate that the pants/shorts my grandma likes have been available for the last 40 years from them. But the entire catalog doesn't need to look like it's all the same stuff for the last 40 years.
I'm starting to like Ellos a lot (one of the Woman Within brands). I think it's younger and more modern than the other brands.
Most of the stuff she liked was actually Ella’s brand.
I hate it.
I agree Debra. I live in central Illinois. They closed our Catherines a couple years ago.
@@BlackTruth1 What a bish think to say to someone. You don't know her or her situation. Nor, do you know if she's cute or not!
@@BlackTruth1 Nobody asked for a rude opinion. I'm sure she was really surprised she hadn't thought of that👿 and happy that you are such a wealth of insight....
@@BlackTruth1 Why don't you find something to do with yourself that doesn't involve insulting people? You're probably not Mr. Perfect yourself.
I've never heard of this brand and personally haven't thankfully had to shop at the brands Debra listed but I hope to God this doc person gets their account deleted. It's not cool to be hateful or to talk about someone you don't know. To the original person commenting I don't know you but don't let anyone ever break you down. ❤️
Let’s not forget you did a campaign with Women Within a year or two ago! The pictures are still on your instagram.
Right?!
WW has some great things, especially their jeans. Other things might look dowdy but it depends on what you wear with it. My pet peeve about them is their shipping costs….. holy moly!
Agreed. I have tons of clothes from them and the pricing of the clothes is decent most of the time but shipping is sooo much!!
@@ericahearst5470 I do not like to pay shipping any where.
“Jeans and leggings” made sense to me, coming from a cold climate. That’s legit 9 months a year, here. I LOVE the orange and pink top. I love the colors you do. The bright and pastel together is so fresh.
Anna your eye shadow doesn't have to match your shirt.....
different strokes for different folks. I agree that it's unfair that a lot of Plus is matronly- but I do think it's sort of missing the mark when you critique the style of the clothes rather than anything else, really- but you choose to shop there. So....not sure what you were expecting?
She shopped there because it was a viewer request.
Back in the day Woman Within was actually Lane Bryant. They were also criticized for not using plus sized models then. But they were about the only place you could buy plus sized fashion.
MANY of the items looked good on you. Not a hard pass. The marine striped dress was especially cute.
Ive always loved some of their flannel shirts. They wash really well and are cute to wear as a tunic or a dress with some docs in the autumn/winter
Ooh good shout. I’ll revisit when fall comes around
I love their flannel. I live in Maine and wear them three out of four seasons.
Not everyone wants to wear "cute." Actually "cute" is for girls, not women.
Agreed but there’s a difference between elegant or sophisticated and dowdy/frumpy
I’d love to see more hauls from places people don’t typically haul! ❤️
Read my comment above. There are more.
"This dress is a piece of shit" ma'am I almost spit my drink out lmao
I love that they have "matronly" clothing. If you are looking for pieces made from classic fabrics, cuts and patterns, it rocks. I love that I can get the same dress in cotton, linen, seersucker, courdory, denim ect... they have the best grandma night gowns!
I thought that everything was super flattering on you.
I go comfort over trendy, so woman within is just perfect for me. Roamans and Catherines, too.
I wear a size 30 too. Woman Within offers many options at an affordable price. Thanks for the haul!
They definitely help with pricing as others have mentioned. I would love to see plus size models. Their pieces are also good for layering with trendier pieces.
Girl I cannot watch your videos anymore!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣I buy soooo much of the stuff you review and am never disappointed!!!!I would say we have matching wardrobes by now!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have never stopped at Woman Within. I always go to Torrid or Old Navy. They always fit me well.
To be fair though not everyone who dresses a little sexy does it for the male gaze but because that’s how they like to dress
Edit: By baseball shirt I mean like a collared button down short sleeve situation?? Y’know??
@@rebeckabarber112 couldn’t have said it better!
You are young and fun. I would not think Woman Within would be cute for you! Thanks for letting us see!
Hmmm I think you're title doesn't match the video
You liked some of the pieces
I shop there
They have many basics
There and Roamans have really helped me when I can't find a top that is long enough or big enough
They offer so many sizes shapes and colors
Hadn't seen some of these pieces though will have to look again :)
I like their dark denim stretchy jeans and swimsuits. But I agree other stuff is definitely a bit too "senior" for me. Love the tank dresses.
I liked the red shirt
Gosh I thought this was a really good haul! Most everything looked great on you! I actually really liked that red “Midwest “ top on you!
The camo green skort, the hot pink dress, and the nautical dress were FIIIREEEE!!! So good honey 🍯 ❤️
What's up with the pictures on that website? The smallest size they sell is a US12, but all the models are clearly under that size?
I'm from the midwest so that explains why I loved the red (4th of July) tank 🤷♀️
The clothes she “loves” are always too tight and lumpy on her.
I thought I was gonna see the shoes on. Bamboozled!
Hard pass? It seemed like you were pretty happy with most of the items in the haul. Clickbait again.
That green striped tank is a great cut on u, very flattering! Also, u look amazing in the hot pink dress! I swear your best colours are hot pink and red, they always look great!
Take me back to your LuLaRoe video. That one was so validating when I was under so much pressure to join
