If you're referring to Uncanny X-Men #314, Iceman didn't become an Omega then and Emma didn't 'unlock' his powers. She just showed him that he could do more with his powers than he thought possible while she was controlling him. Bobby admitted that he had failed to push himself to reach his full potential in a later conversation with Emma in Uncanny X-Men #318.
@@aer0planejelly911 well i dont disagree but if by showing him what he could do led to him doing it, that would fit under "unlock" because Bobby didn't know or think he could do it. didn't at some point in that 2nd conversation Bobby asked Emma for help in realizing his full potential power wise? its been yrs since I've actually read it but I could swear they were fairly close, like not romantically or anything just closer after the whole mind control thing.

I swear it's like every time I see a video of Iceman's abilities on TH-cam, the narrator always has to mention the Emma Frost incident as if it was an intricate part of Iceman's backstory. I'm one of those diehard fans that's followed Iceman for over 40 years, and if you dig deep enough, there's references out there that have him doing a lot of impossible things that aren't covered in a lot of Iceman Appreciation videos. The better part of Iceman's character and abilities were from the 90's and early part of the 2000's. Not so much in recent years, where Iceman's stories have been lack luster, and without good character development, or only focuses on the sexual aspects of his personal identity.
I stop supported an follow up on Iceman when the writers made him a member of the alphabet community gang!!! That just messed up my childhood, I knew Iceman for having a relationship with Polaris, He use to flirt heavy with Firestar on Spiderman & his amazing friends!!! Now they have him coming out as Gay. It don't sit well with me. Making Bobby Drakes & Tim Drake part d Alphabet community lost me as a fan of d sort for Marvel's Iceman & dc's Red Robin. Now I am not pushing any hate towards da community, just disappointed that they took characters that ppl grew up with since in the 80's under certain vibes an they just switch it up to please the community!!! Create new characters like Hulkling n Wicker!
