Great video! Amazing recommendations! Very helpful video for all travellers!! I was recently in Phuket. I rented a car for 12 days because the taxi is expensive. The people who work there are professional and friendly. Everything was very fast and without problems. The car was like new. The staff answered all my questions. I strongly recommend ORANGE CAR PHUKET if you need a car or a motorcycle!
Patong, Phuket is a bit crowded but at the same time, very very great to stay at. very convenient to beaches, streetfoods, and tours
You've brought back so many memories of my trips to Phuket. Nicely done. That water recommendation is extremely important. I do like the Singha beer, and one day on a ferry to Phuket I was drinking Singha the entire way, lounging on the open deck. I didn't sense it coming on, and became dehydrated. I actually managed to find a hotel, check in and drop off my luggage, then set out to book a scuba trip the next day.
After booking the trip, i realized i had no idea where my luggage was, or my hotel. This was much more than being drunk....which i wasn't. I had to sit down, drink some water....a lot of water.....and get my wits back. After that, i began seeing the world in color again and remembered where my stuff was. I attribute this mostly to dehydration, and well, ok, somewhat to the Singha.
Hi heading over to Thailand in October, getting married to my partner, after visiting Bangkok for few nights. Traveling to phuket, never been, me and my partner, dad, mother in law and few friends. Not sure where to stay? Can you or anyone recommend anywhere? Not to quiet and not to busy but somewhere in the middle with plenty of bars and restaurants and nice calm beautiful sea, good for swimming, nice hotels, suitable for my young 70 year old dad and mother in law. Been looking but just can't decide? Great Vid, thanks Craig
G'day mate, no probs at all. So for Phuket I like these hotels: the Avista Hideaway by M Gallery. Hotel Indigo and Mandarava Resort and spa. Let me know how you go. Happy to help further:)
Always my favorite country 🇹🇭 many places to visit. More safe than other country in south east Asian from my experiences.
3:25 just rent a scooter, by yourself. they're like €4/day and gasoline is super ultra cheap in Phuket. Be sure to rent a scooter through your ho(s)tel, they know the rental companies that are reliable. DO NOT RENT A SCOOTER FOR MORE THAN ONE DAY. Pay for it every day, unless you can park it safely. There are scams where the rental company steals your scooter and let you pay for the theft.
I got my moped from Nina’s cars on 61/34 Moo.4 on Viset Rd Rawai Muang(I hope that’s the address I copied it from their business card)
Anyways it was reasonably priced and they offer insurance where you only pay up to 4000 baht if you total the bike and an additional 4000 baht if you mess up somebody else’s vehicle.
The French man who owns the place seemed like a stand up guy and had lots of bikes and some cars to choose from. Safe travels everyone cheers
Phuket Thailand was beautiful place went there last May,yummy food, nice people and fantastic beaches 💜
@@matt_travels how I wish...
Here in Phuket for the first time and we had those toasties because of your video... 👍👍 I will never look at a 711 the same again. Thank you!
I just bought my solo ticket to Phuket and this video helped relieve so much of the stress,
thank you man seriously
@@matt_travels Will do, going in August!
Same here. See you there soon!
@@aur2009 don't know if you actually wanna meet up lol, but dude it would be so awesome to meet someone who commented on my youtube post haha
liuleisawesome I’m going in November! Please tell us how your visit goes!
@@lovegxdherself Just wanted to let you know, I am here now and it is unbelievable, I believe November is still during the low-season, (someone correct me if im wrong) so you should be fine. Right now its the end of the high season and beginning of the low season at the same time, so there's a decent amount of tourists, but beaches are not packed and there's still great places to go to escape the more crowded areas. Will continue to update as the week goes on.
Should be Lub D hostile is also very expensive and they charge the same for a shard dorm that other places charge for a single room
Doing a solo trip to Phuket, have my taxi organized before I go. Seems elegant travel.
Really nice video... many tourist start to visit phuket for many reasons...
Thanks for all your views. Hoping you got some good tips.
Were staying for a Month at the Anantara Mai Khao Pool Villa in a 2 bedroom
Oh beautiful. Hoe was your stay?
full respect for this video. I am going to Phuket next month but I heard it can be abit touristy and sleazy in parts so this video is perfect. You may laugh but I have a phobia of bugs. Does Phuket or Thailand have a bug problem? I only care about when sleeping in the hotel etc? I assume I can get some buy spray from a 7-11 shop?
Would you suggest picking one spot to stay and traveling around or moving to a new district every few days?
Great trips and beautiful Island (The beach movie)Leo🏖😊🤓🤠
All good advice except; never get in a tuk tuk. Take a meter taxi or a bike taxi. Ive lived here for years - take it from a resident - no tuk tuks. I too love the 7/11 toasted sandwiches.
Good you give us a reason for no tuk tuks please?
@@rossross7165 mafia, they drive reckless and no safety
@@waddwawadsdasad2339 thanks for reply.i ended up using tuk tuks in bangkok and also phuket.you were right. They aren't very safe but luckily we didnt have any problems and price was ok.
Your vlog really help me to find what to do in phuket right now. Thank you
wow a ton of info, i love thai food so a beach destination like phuket would be an awesome choice!
Loved seeing Rob in the video too that's just awesome to see many of you guys get together and chill.
Matthew O'Connor TV totally agree. I hope myself get to have the pleasure of meeting you fine men when I make my trip in April
Thanks for this! Will definitely take some tips from this when I go :)
The best thing you said in the entire video is 'The Toasties'... don't forget the dim sums and everything else they have. Love 711's in the Thailand!
Thanks for the toasties tip Matt, I was wondering what to eat late night from the 711
One thumb up for you 👍🏼 welcome to Thailand 🇹🇭
how can i book a scooter? any suggestions on platforms to book a tour or for island hopping?
Also, Thai etiquette is important if you wish to be respectful. Remember to cover your shoulders and knees when visiting temples, remove shoes when going into a Thai house or temple and don't point your feet at monks.
Thanks mate for the great video! I am going to Phuket very soon and needed some tips :)
Many nice viewes in Thailand just now know it.
Nice video i'm thai and go to phuket next month it's my frist time
Hi there love youre vid ,im also going alone this december ,my question is where or which region is the best place to stay in a hotel to.be near to everything ,like the beaches and stuff ,brside pattong beach which is the next place you would recommend and also not to.far away frm bangla road thx my friend
The most important thing about Phuket is that THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT and they drive like in England so if you rent a motorbike or car you might get confused. For me, Grab (the Thai Uber) was the best option, but it is really expensive. If you are alone and not willing to drive a motorbike, I would suggest to do a city tour with an agency because at the end is the cheapest option.
Phuket is a nice place but I wouldn't recommend stay there for too long because there is not too much to do (there are a lot of things related to animals but I don't want to participate on animal abuse).
Also, I got a lot of "stings" on the sea that look and feel like mosquito bites but I heard that they are plankton bites, so I didn't enjoy the sea and beach at all.
Thanks for all the info! Going there next week
Hi there! Can you tell me what tour did you bought for Phi Phi islands? I'm going there and I'd love to do that tour. Thanks! :)
Hahaha, sandwiches. As a vegetarian, I practically lived on Grilled Cheese one
Thanks so much! We used your tip for transportation booking.
Hey! I definitely want to go to Salaloy Seafood restaurant. How do I get back from there to LubD Hostel? Is there any local/public transport available?
Hi, what about mobile when we go to beach.... I saw you, you jumped in water.
@@matt_travels hey thanks for the reply.... But my query was about when we go to the beach where we should put our mobile etc.
Is locker facility is available
First vid of yours ive seen but i enjoyed it...cheers M8 yoi ozzi mungrel 👌👍
I own 4 properties in Phuket, which is 1 bedroom+ (3 units)(170-230 USD per month) and another 2 bedroom+ (1 unit )(370 USD per month ) all those 4 are located in bangtao,Phuket
Do not drink the water. Words of wisdom, my friend. Words of wisdom.
Good job Matt
Very close to my province.siemreap angkor wat .cambodia
Hi Matthew! Thanks for this video it was really useful! Could you link the tour for Phi Phi?
Thanks so much mate a lot of stuff here I hadn’t seen in other videos. 😊
What is the hostel name? Lubdy?
Please share a link asap. Need to book soon
www.lubd.com/patong/, but if you want, book through Agoda. It's quite an expensive place, and Agoda gets better prices.
Should have mentioned the East side of the island... Chalong. Thats where all the muay thai and cross fit gyms are located.
Great advice I’m about to go to Thailand and need all the tips and advice I can get , cheers 🍻

Im bringing my kids on holiday for a week to phuket. Is it an expensive place. Im hoping 1000euro will do me for the week. What do u reckon. We're not big spenders. Don't drink or smoke so I'm hoping it will be a comfortable amount to bring.
