About Us:
Hey! We are Lydia and Wehan, welcome to our channel 💙🚐
We're from Perth (Australia) and have just completed the big lap of Australia in our self converted Sprinter van.
Feeling unfulfilled and unhappy after building the life we thought we should want, in 2021 we decided to to sell our house and quit our corporate jobs so that we could go on the big lap of Australia in our self converted Sprinter van. Having barely travelled previously (besides a one off trip to Bali) and being hardcore 'planners' we were worried we were making a huge mistake but we've been travelling full-time for over 2 years now and we haven't looked back.
Our goal is to continue to push ourselves outside our comfort zone; seeking new adventures, learning about new cultures and seeing as much of the world as possible. We hope you enjoy watching!

Thumbs up 👍 Lydia & Wehan
Watching this makes me want to return to Phuket, 2 trips last year got me through 2024. Mangos in Thailand taste a lot sweeter and juicier than in Australia..You have barely scratched the surface of Phuket, enjoy it. Personally i go there for regular dental work, the night life, the friendly people, the climate, the beaches, and i just love the overall ambience. It is very safe and not so expensive. And after countless trips since 1995 i cannot wait to return.
Loving these videos of Thailand, stay safe guys
Thank you! 😊
You can buy mango sticky rice at Coles now, in the frozen section.
Ooh.. Have you tried it? 🥭 Wehan's mom actually messaged us a couple of days ago and said she tried it and thought of us.. we did a double take when she said it was from Coles!
@@lydiaandwehan I haven't tried it yet, but I saw it on tiktok 🙈
Have fun guys and stay safe.
💙
Beautiful video guys, vibrant, warm and really filmed well…..right now where’s my passport……as another storm rages outside…cheers guys x
I think it's time you moved to Australia! It seems like you never catch a break with the weather. 🤣 Thank you for the kind words!
@ haha….yep, it’s really changed these past few years, global warming for sure…..already planning a return trip in March 2026, this time to Northern Tassie…..any excuse eh….really loving your new adventure, just perfect to watch, I really see that wanderlust excitement in you both, it’s very infectious….safe travels and all the best from my tropical Jersey……mmmm….if only x
Lol regarding the beach signs yes the first 3 have beach as first word and last one just says Phuket 😂 it's not too hard to learn because there is an alphabet but what makes it harder are the 5 tones. Have fun!! Oh and so glad you got to see some of the Loy Krathong festival it's so nice
Love the vid guys. I've only ever been to Thailand once, but it was so good. It's a bit hectic but that's like all of Asia. I used to travel to Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam for work and I can tell you that you'll love these places. Also, best to get a travel sim provider like Airalo or Holafly and save yourself the hassle of getting a sim everywhere. Have a good one, cheers.
Thank you! The busyness was initially quite a shock after spending 2 years travelling around Australia and seeing more animals than people 🤣 Now we absolutely love it. What incredible places to travel to for work, we definitely have a few of them on our list for the near future. Thanks for the tip, we did consider esims and would consider them for other countries but since we're here a little while we thought it was worth the effort getting a local sim as they're quite a bit cheaper.
Nice vid guys i love thailand and the beautifull thai ppl and the food 😊 yes def go to phi phi island safe travels ❤
Such lovely people and fantastic food!! 💙
Beautiful Thailand. If you get the chance do a day trip to Phi Phi island and James Bond island for kayaking. Both are fantastic.
We have been several times and never felt unsafe. It's definitely an eye opener at night though down Bangla road 😮
Lydia I'm celiac and went to a local supermarket and purchased gf soy sauce and oyster sauce. Most places were more than happy to use them when preparing my meal. I found the curries were fine just say NO soy sauce that's the main culprit ! FB groups are a great help to when looking for somewhere to eat.
Enjoy guys xx
Agreed, we feel very safe and welcomed in Thailand! Can totally understand why you've been several times. 😊 Thank you so much for the tip, thankfully we've managed to have lots of great gluten free meals so far 🤤
love the video........if you don't mind , where did you stay in Patong??
Thank you! We stayed at the Bauman Ville Hotel which we would definitely recommend if you can get it for a good price. They can get pretty pricey in high season ($150+ per night) so would recommend trying to book in advance and checking multiple booking sites with VPNs to get the best price. We managed to get a good deal of $29.22 (AUD) a night (with bonus Qantas points) with Qantas Hotels. 😊
5 Thai dramas are filmed in Phuket.

what made you guys go with a local sim and not a E sim? just wondering as im traveling later this year!
How exciting, where are you off to? 😊 We only went with a local sim because of the price. 1 month unlimited with Airalo is $57.50 while the sim we ended up with was just $15.40 unlimited for the month. The initial sim we were after was $8.76 for the month. I think we got unlucky trying to get the cheaper sim in Patong as we've seen them pretty readily available elsewhere around Thailand. Esims are super convenient but if you are here for extended periods the local sims are worth the effort.
@@lydiaandwehan going to scotland and ah yeah that makes sense :)
Need more info and video footage around Patong
Too much time spent on food
Karon Beach lots better 😅😅😅
Haha funny Australians.
I am from Western Australia haha good work
Nice From pakistan
What’s up with all the comments saying stay safe”? Thailand is one of safest countries in the world. It’s laughable. 🤡
I think it’s just a polite thing to say when people are travelling 😊 We say it to friends and family no matter what country they travel to. But you’re right we feel very safe in Thailand!
@ a polite thing to say is enjoy and have a great time. Not stay safe. Pretty disrespectful to any countries you go.
@ I was there last month my wife and I walked through an alley at 3 in the morning and felt safer then any westerns countries. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@3553sean Haha, yeah I laughed at the comments too. It's mostly Westerners who think any non Western country is super strange and dangerous. 😆 I don't think these people travel much, they probably think Phuket is like walking around Bogota, Caracas or Lagos. 😆 If this vlog was in Canada, London, Paris or New Zealand they would not be saying "stay safe", but since it's in SE Asia (statistically the actual lowest violent crime in the entire world), somehow their life is in danger because everyone is brown and they should be careful because they assume they're all violent criminals. 😆 The irony is if they went to Paris they could die in any banlieue there. Same with any ghetto in America, yet they probably think walking around North Philly or the Southside of Chicago is safer than walking around Phuket or Koh Samui because it's Western and familiar. 😆 Glad I wasn't the only one that picked up on that.
coconut milk in a mango sticky rice dish is a mix of coconut milk , sugar, a bit of salt (to balance the flavor)...i m thai ..not a sweet tongue, ..just a little coconut cream for this dish.
It's the perfect balance that hits all the spots, sweet, salty, filling and refreshing. We still can't get over how amazing the mangoes are here in Thailand!
These comments are so funny "Stay safe guys! It's so dangerous in Thailand!" 🤣
u can ask for a less sweet "wan noi" or no sugar for all vendors.
That's very helpful, thank you so much!! 🙏
