இன்றைய பதிவில் அச்சன்கோவில் ஐயப்பன் ஆலயம் குறித்து நாம் காணவிருக்கிறோம்.
அச்சன்கோவில் கேரளத்தின் கொல்லம் மாவட்டத்தில் பத்தனாபுரம் வட்டத்தில் உள்ளது. பரசுராமர் நிறுவிய ஐந்து கோயில்களில் இதுவும் ஒன்று.
இந்த ஆலயம் அடர்ந்த வனப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ளது.
சாஸ்தாவின் கோவில்களில், சபரிமலை ஆலயத்துக்கு அடுத்தபடியாக புகழ் பெற்ற கோவிலாக அச்சன்கோவில் திகழ்கிறது.
பரசுராமர் சாஸ்தாவை பிரதிஷ்டைசெய்த அனைத்து ஆலயங்களிலும் விக்கிரகம் மாற்றம் கண்டுள்ளது. ஆனால் இந்த ஆலயத்தில் மட்டும், விக்கிரகம் மாற்றம் இல்லாது பழமை மாறாது காட்சியளிக்கிறது. எனவே தான் இங்குள்ள சாஸ்தாவின் சிலை மிக மிக பழமை வாய்ந்ததாக திகழ்கிறது.
இங்கே அய்யப்ன் வனராஜனாக, அமர்ந்த நிலையில் கையில் அமுதமும், கருப்பனின் காந்தமலை வாளும் ஏந்தி காட்சி அளிக்கிறார். இவருக்கு இருபுறமும் பூர்ணா, புஷ்கலை எனும் இரு தேவியர் மலர் தூவுவது போன்று காட்சி தருகின்றனர். இங்குள்ள ஐய்யப்பனை கல்யாண சாஸ்தா என்று அழைக்கின்றனர். திருமண வரம் வேண்டுவோர் வழிபட வேண்டிய சிறப்புமிக்க தலம் இதுவாகும்.
பாம்பு உள்ளிட்ட விஷப்பூச்சி கடித்தவர்கள் இங்கு வந்து வழிபட்டு ,ஐயப்பனிடம் சந்தனம் பெற்று பூசிக்கொண்டால் குணமடைவர் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. இதனால் இங்குள்ள ஐயப்பனை மகாவைத்யா என்றும் அழைக்கின்றனர்.
இங்கு தமிழக முறைப்படியே பூஜைகளும் வழிபாடுகாளும் நடைபெறுகின்றன. மார்கழி மாதத்தின் முதல் பத்து நாட்கள் இங்கு முக்கிய திருவிழா நடைபெறுகிறது. சாஸ்தாவின் ஆலயங்களில் சபரிமலை மற்றும் அச்சன் கோவில் ஆகிய இரு ஆலயங்களில் மட்டுமே பத்து நாட்கள் திருவிழா நடைபெறுவதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
இவ்விழா நாட்களில் ஐயப்பனுக்கு அணிவிப்பதற்காக வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் தங்க ஆபரணங்கள் மற்றும் வாள் போன்றவை புனலூர் கருவூலத்தில் இருந்து எடுத்துச் சென்று அணிவிக்கப்படுகின்றன. இந்த திருவாபரண ஊர்வலம் செல்லும் பாதையானது, கேரளாவிலுள்ள புனலூர், ஆரியங்காவு, தமிழ்நாட்டிலுள்ள செங்கோட்டை, தென்காசி உள்ளிட்ட நகரங்களின் வழியாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது. விழாவின் ஒன்பதாம் நாளில் தேரோட்டம் நடத்தப் பெறுகிறது. தை மாதம் வரும் ரேவதி நட்சத்திர நாளில் பூச்சொறிதல் நிகழ்ச்சி இங்கு நடைபெறுகிறது.
கேரள மாநிலம், புனலூர் நகரில் இருந்து 42 கிலோ மீட்டர் தொலைவிலும், தமிழ்நாட்டிலுள்ள செங்கோட்டை நகரில் இருந்து 27 கிலோமீட்டர் தொலைவிலும் அச்சன்கோவில் அமைந்திருக்கிறது.
In this post we are learn about the Achankovil temple. Achankovil is located in Pathanapuram circle in Kollam district of Kerala. It is one of the five temples founded by Parasurama. This temple is situated in a dense forest. Among the temples of Shasta, Achan Kovil is the most famous temple next to Sabarimala temple.
All the temples dedicated to Parasurama Shasta have seen a change in the idol. But only in this temple, the idol remains unchanged and remains unchanged. Hence the statue of Shasta here is very ancient.
Here Ayyaban is shown as Vanarajan, in a seated position, carrying an elixir in his hand and Karuppa's Kanthamalai sword. On either side of him are two goddesses, Purna and Pushkalai, showering flowers. Ayyappan here is called Kalyana Sastha. It is a special place to be worshiped by those seeking marriage.
It is believed that people who have been bitten by snakes and other poisonous insects come here to worship and get cured. Ayyappan, who is consecrated here, always has sandalwood and tirtha (holy water) in his left hand. Both are considered important in getting rid of the venom of snakebites. Sandalwood is taken from the idol of Ayyappan. It is said that if the holy water given by the priest is applied along with the sandalwood, the poison will be removed immediately and the cure will be obtained. This is why Ayyappan here is also called Mahavaidya.
Pujas and worships are held here according to Tamil Nadu style. The main festival takes place here during the first ten days of the month of Margazhi (Danu month in Malayalam). Among Shasta's temples, Sabarimala and Achan Temple are the only two temples where the festival is said to be held for ten days. Special worships are performed here on all the special days of Lord Ayyappan. Special worships are held here on Ayyappan Mandal worship days.
On these festival days, gold ornaments and swords kept for Ayyappan are taken from the Punalur treasury and worn. The route of this Thiruvaparana procession passes through Punalur, Ariankavu in Kerala, Sengottai and Thenkasi in Tamil Nadu. On the ninth day of the festival, a procession takes place. A flower sprinkling ceremony is held here on Revathi Nakshatra day in Thai month.
It is believed that Ayyappan here will remove all kinds of fears of the devotees and guide them to a prosperous life. Also, those who worship Ayyappan in this place will get rid of marriage impediments. People living in the household will have a happy life.
It is believed that those wishing to have a child will get a child if they worship the goddess here with silk cloth, bangles etc.
Achankoville is located at a distance of 42 km from Punalur city in Kerala state and 27 km from Sengottai city in Tamil Nadu.
