One of the Smiling Acaras, Laetacara curviceps is one of my all time favorite fish. Hard to find! They definitely deserve more love as they are great with larger tetras - no mini rasboras. All around great choices. Maybe an African butterfly fish for those rock dwellers? Or a gourami... mollies... platys...
The Dwarf Flag Acara is a great little additional to any aquarium. Largely very peaceful: even spawning fish don't cause too much trouble if the tank is large enough to allow them the space they need. Mature fish are very attractive. They are active and inquisitive: you really get the feeling they are curious about the surroundings, rather than aimlessly schooling about. In the UK, availability is a bit of a problem.... and when they appear they don't look as robust as they were long time ago (don't know if that's a result of decades of farmed/tank raised interbreeding?) I have long desired a couple of pairs: but I just can't find 4 fish that look as robust as I remember when I first kept them.
Indeed I dislike them and anyone who says they are peaceful is wrong they nip long flowing fins, males and females both fight (females being worse) and are just aggressive even if they don’t have to be.
I got a pair of ramirezi with a male apistogramma Borelli. I would like to have some bolivian ramirezi and Cacatuoide apistogramma. Do you think is better to get just a male of each to put them with my pair of Ramirezi? Thanks.
Thank you so much for taking the time to put this video together. I learned a lot! I'm definitely doing my homework before I start my next tank . I think I'm really in love with the blue Rams! 😍I hope you have an amazing day 👍🐟🌱🌿
I know this video is 2 years old but if you're still looking for tank mates for the temporalis, cyprichromis leptosoma would be great imo. Really cool looking cichlid that's gonna stay in your top third and maxes out about 3in.
I notice your Apistograma has a long “number 2” streaming behind . I have one that seems to always have a long one trailing too. Are they known for “big jobs” ? They do break off and are easy to remove with a siphon or pipettes, it just seems he goes to the toilet….a lot !
Great video I’m currently getting into apistogramma’s but having alil trouble finding them here in southern wv any recommendations for ordering some ? Greatly Appreciated
I have single male Curvicep in my 20 long community, his name is Bongo and he is my centerpiece fish! His personality is what made me decide to buy him last week, and i’ve fallen in love with him. he does well with my danios, minnows, and platies but he did eat up my tiny snails and shrimp!
great video! i thought in a prior video you mentioned you inherited some caudopunks (neolamprologus caudopunctatus). are you still keeping them? if so, would love to hear about your experience with them. thanks!
Kribs are great had two female and one male, one female had lots of young while she was looking after them, the male would slip away and go and flirt with the second female.
Hopefully they are doing well! They too have a lot of personality!! I miss watching them "glide" through the aquarium. I would imagine they're getting big by now. ?? Either way, love your passion and videos!! Apparently I brought TX with me ... had a tornado warning yesterday 😯 They mentioned the last big tornado was over 30 years ago!😶😅
Good Morning, I have 3 Krebs... 2 female and I believe a male. The 1 female is super aggressive and chases the 1 female all over the tank. Hence the reason it cowers by the back of the filter On occasion the aggressor ( female) has done the “ shimy” to her. Normal behavior?
If you mean algae yes, green algae is common basically everyone gets it but you do want to remove it, a scrubber to get it off the glass and some cleaner fish like corydoras eat it. But if you have brown algae thats a serious problem that needs to be dealt with immediately. Green algae is a excess of light so turn off your light for a few more hours a day only keep it on for like 6 hours a day and scrub it away. Brown algae is usually brought into the tank by wood or rocks and spreads like fire. I've found phosguard helps clear it but you also need some cleaner fish like corydoras or shrimp, amano shrimp are huge eaters and wont be eaten by too many fish because of their size.
I like demasoni cichlids. Their striking blue looks gorgeous.
Bolivian Rams are nice.
Great video! I just picked up some GBRs and they are my first cichlids ever. Can't wait to have them pair off!
Awesome and good luck!
My favourite, GBR.
I saw 3 species I haven't seen before, so thank you Jason.
Your very welcome glad you enjoyed!

If you haven’t decided what to keep with the shell brooders, some type of rainbow fish would be awesome and add a lot of color!
Shellies! Especially multi’s for their personality. I’m sure someone else has mentioned them, but fav cichlid so far
For the African “shell dweller” cichlids if the tank parameters match up you could do African buttterfly fish there like a “mini arowana”
Great idea

@@JadrenAquatics the beset fish for you is the republican southern long ear sunfish
@@JadrenAquatics I'm a democrat🟦 I make hybrid fish only. I'm breeding a special male jewel cichlid with a special female salvini cichlid.
Hey can you please tell again, what are those both species at 6:54
You are super informative. New to cichlids and these smaller ones are amazing. Can the Kribs go in with Apistos?
If they have room to get away from each other, they are both bottom tank dwellers
Great information. I would like to have cichlids, I never had them before. Can they work in a 16G Cora Life BioCube with live plants?
noticed your r o behind you what brand is it is it just for the fish room or house too?
Just the fish room and I only use it on my caridina fish tanks. It's just some off brand I got off of amazon
@@JadrenAquatics do you use tap water for Neos?

Watch Imperial Tropical website out of Florida. You have to watch and order when you see what you want. They are well known.

Great video, thanks for sharing
Trying really hard to find some curvicep cichlids at the moment 🙂

Kribs are awesome I have one. They love to eat snails.
Could you mix electric blue rams and apistogramas in the same tank. I have a 55 gal and I want to put other cool fish with my blue rams
Yes you can just provide plenty of caves and plants so that they have cover to hide. Thanks!
@@JadrenAquatics thank you ill try it out and see how it goes. Its my biggest tank haha and I want more color
Can u put two different male rams in the same tank
My Kribensises are out at the front of the tank all the time. I have alot of hiding spots
How many German Blues can i add to my 35 gallon?

My curviceps was this color in the store. In my 29 he is a dark blue and gray, It's crazy!
