    I've been collecting live Zeppelin since the 70s, and I love looking at old boot records, but very few of those old ones hold up nowadays sound-wise compared to the low generation sources that have been popping up over the years on boot cd's. That said, I would love to stumble upon a record shop like yours.

    Unless you have the Vienna and German shows from their 1973 euro tour you are missing zep at their live zenith. Warning these concerts will ruin you for other zep shows. I'm still dismayed at all the alleged zepheads who aren t even aware of their brief 1980 euro tour. Frankfort and Brussels shows the highlights.

    • @MJEvermore853
      @MJEvermore853 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Already had a few concerts under their belts in the US in 1968. Denver, on Dec 26th, Portland (I think?), and Gonzaga University at the trail end of Dec which was the earliest concert to be bootlegged. That's just the USA....
      Before then, they had shows in the UK under the "Led Zeppelin" name ( not the "New Yardbirds" anymore). I think the first LZ show in the UK was at Surrey University. Then the Marquee in London, Liverpool, etc, all in October '68.

      @@MJEvermore853 Man that's a sick lot of info. Sorry if I only answer you now, just stumbled on my own comment after 9 months. Yeah, I knew that they took over the Yardbirds, Page was the first to join that group, while either Bonzo or Plant were the last. I knew about Finland 1968's performance as New Yardbirds, but those other dates you name, I must thank you, because I did not know of those

      No. Winterland '68 as the New Yardbirds was before that. They only played one LZ song, the rest were Yardbirds tunes. It is described in Luis Ray's books. I had it, but I lost it in the Great Fire of '18. And 90% of my collection is low Gen, and remasters of low Gens. Enjoy, even if this is late. 😊

    the best live concert boot can sound ok if it was recorded from the mixing board. Recorded onto reel to reel then mastered and sent to a cutting lathe. Not the case with probably 95% of the boots most of which were recorded on portable cassette decks, often in the audience. I never got into buying boots for this reason. They are not authorized label releases so the sound quality is usually just unlistenable for me. I like how Frank Zappa released his Beat The Boots box set (rare) on vinyl and mastered each one as best he could. They were way better than the crap pressed anywhere.. Great store Mike.

      @henryvonzeppelin1288 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't know about what You
      talk'in my Friend.... Let me explain to You...
      Some Metalacetate Lp's of Led Zeppelin ( Bootleg's) are worth more than Your 1000 $...
      Some of them reaches at Auctions Prices up to 2500 $.....as Example the original famous six Acetate Set Led Zeppelin ,, The Nun " San Diego 1975.... The most expensive til now are Düsseldorf 1980 a two Red Metalacetate Lp Set for 2800$.... Nassau Collisseum 1975 three coloured Metalacetate Lp's for 3800$.... and Geil Record's six Acetate Set live in Fort Worth Texas 1977 for 3920$.....There are some of them, where excist only 25 Copies or 20....
      As well there excist other fine Document's, such as Excample, the Led Zeppelin Ramble Records Release's, what have only 10 or 15 Copies or sometimes less and they all features never before on Vinyl released Stuff.... as Example Düsseldorf 1970 4Lp , or Honolulu 1970 2Lp, or LA 21.8.1971 3Lp, or LA 25.6.1977 3Lp......
      Left to name the verry few Release's
      of the old japanese Acetate Lp's from the Eightees with at most 30 Copies.... as Example Earlscourt first Night 4 Acetate Set, Landover 1977 last Night 4 Acetate Lp , Essen 1973 2 Acetate Lp or Fillmore East 69'Gold Acetate Lp..... and, and, and..
      They are expensive, because no Release's on Vinyl excist, only this few Acetate Lp's....
      All in all verry much wanted by Collector's..... Nobody collected them for the Soundquality, they be collected for they'r Rarity, as well as the Bootleg Vinyl Releases because they are the first Release's of these Material ...
      That's what You should know about,before You do such a Statement.....

      Incorrect

    • @ej2333
      @ej2333 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      From ultimate rock classic report: "Many Led Zeppelin fans know that their film, 'The Song Remains the Same' isn't entirely from the band's three-night stay at Madison Square Garden in 1973. But a new article goes into detail about the re-creation of the concerts that they did at Shepperton Studios a year later."
      Look up " Song remains the same" you will find this: " the May 2008 issue of Uncut Magazine, Page recalled the events surrounding the shooting of additional footage at Shepperton Studios:
      I'm sort of miming at Shepperton to what I'd played at Madison Square Garden, but of course, although I've got a rough approximation of what I was playing from night to night, it's not exact. So the film that came out in the '70s is a bit warts-and-all.[8]
      A plan to shoot additional footage on the band's Autumn 1975 U.S. tour was abandoned due to Plant's car crash in Rhodes, Greece. "
