      Wow I really appreciate your comment! I love Short Course trucks, and you really can't go wrong with and SC10 or an Arrma Senton BLX. The slash VXL is really good too but they are so expensive by comparison and they aren't quite as durable, though they are still very durable in their own right. But between the Senton and the SC10, it's a coin toss for me.

    I've been a Team Associated fanboi since the RC10 was first released. It was my second RC. It was awesome in races and if you weren't running one, you were losing. • @Rek_Rc
      @Rek_Rc  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That drone with tado at the controls is becoming one of the main ingredients of our videos to help us gain our own sort of video style. Every rc channel has something that identifies them, and for us, it's those action montages, I think. Seeing a car whiz past from a stationary position is fun and gives a sense of how fast it's going, but to be able to go with the car, almost as a passenger is really unique and I think some viewers are starting to like those segments, at least I'm hoping they are. Strapping a camera directly to the car would be good too, but it takes away that visual of what the car is doing while also riding along with it.

    I still have my trusty 2wd SC10 from 2009 and it's still a blast to drive on the right track.

    • @Rek_Rc
      @Rek_Rc  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, I considered getting race shocks, proper track tires, and a race body on mine and taking it to some club races. 2WD SCT seems easy to find, but 4WD SCT races aren't as popular it seems. Is that true? Or am I just missing something?

      @@Rek_Rc I live in Europe and I don't think there are any short course trucks left here, let alone 2wd. They were never really popular here, because ppl couldn't drive them properly, they thought they were too hard to drive. 4wd SC was way more popular, but they've faded into oblivion altogether. I'm having trouble finding 32 pitch gears to fit the 3mm shaft on the stock motor. I can find some but they are of hit or miss quality. I would like to step up the pinion by maybe 2 teeth, that should put it right at 50 MPH. The Traxxas truck in the video is running the same system as the TA, but I had 48p gears so it breaks 50 easily. I'd like the same for the SC10

      @Rek_Rc  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I thought about going for 60 just on a pinion gear, which I'm sure it could do but it would be tons of heat and might damage the stock motor or ESC. It does 50 MPH now on the pinion I put in which is just about the sweet spot for the stock system. But with mods like yours 60 is probably no sweat for it.

      @Rek_Rc  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I adore my Senton BLX, it's faster, and for durability I'd say it's very close between the two with a slight edge favoring the Senton. But I will say the TA does handle better, the center diff really does help it be more stable on turns over a slipper clutch 4x4. You really can't go wrong with either truck, they are even similarly priced.

    Told you they were good ha ha, handling is sublime for a rtr. Took my Pro4 sc10 out yesterday, along with my Senton 3s blx & FTX Zorro 3s brushles. As we know the Senton 3s is a super fast beast out the box & fun, but it does not handle anywhere close to the Associated Pro 4 sc10, it feels like it has a giro on board but dosn't of coarse. Where abouts in you short coarse collection would you place the HPI Jumpshot Flux 2wd ?

    • @Rek_Rc
      @Rek_Rc  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You were absolutely right the truck is fantastic. You're spot on with how it compares to the Senton, both are good, one is a raging beast, the other is more precise. My HPI for speed is second only to my Maxx Slash, the HPI can do 55 MPH, and it think it handles really well even being a 2WD, for durability, the chassis is near unbreakable, but the turn buckles tend to pop off a lot, it's easy enough to just pop them and on, but it can be annoying at times to be having a blast and suddenly vere off because the linkage popped off. I love my HPI, but it's not for beginners. I wouldn't recommend it to a new RC hobbyist. But if you want insane speed for under 300 in an SCT, you literally can't beat it for out of the box performance unless you spend at least 200 dollars more.

    Really nice SCT. Strange it's not more popular. What do you think about the electronics?

    • @Rek_Rc
      @Rek_Rc  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Anyone who likes SCT style trucks should have one. The electronics are fine in my opinion, they are simple, reliable, and you can put them through some abuse without much worry. They don't seem all that powerful out of the box but a bit of gearing can fix that. Their receivers could be better, I have had their receivers fail a time or two, but other than that they have been problem free. Just basic straight forward and mostly reliable (except the receivers).

Senton's ESC/motor combo is better. Surprisingly the servo is pretty good. It does handle and jump really good for a short course truck...surprisingly good, actually.
