This is my first time seeing you and I subscribed. I, too, am trying my hand at homesteading. After 12 years of being very ill, in and out of hospitals, since I retired, I am now feeling so much better this year. I started canning, making my own bread, which my family loves, I just made a pan of biscuits with homemade beef vegetable stew. They love the new me! I have so many meals in a jar, which I love. There are days when I am very tired by dinnertime, so those meals are a lifesaver! I make yeast bread, and I want to start experimenting with sourdough next. Love your channel!
@@kathylamb5385 wow that’s awesome! I’m so glad you found me and I’m glad you are starting to feel better. I have done sourdough but I find I have trouble with the timing lol I think it’s just not the stage of life I’m in yet. I end up always forgetting it 😅
Just found your channel and it was a breathe of fresh. We’ve always been a one income homeschooling family. All of my children have graduated from homeschooling. I think TH-cam needs more channels like yours. You have a new subscriber.
One tip to save you a little is to take time to pour you food in a small sieve/stainer to get that grease off and not use the paper towels for it. Keep the paper towels for other uses. I always stain the grease off my food and then throw it in a jar or can that I am throwing away.
@@crus5112 that’s a great tip thank you 😊 I usually save the grease from most but I don’t like the taste of the grease from the sausage lol kinda odd I know but that’s why I didn’t save it 😅
I absolutely love your fireplace so beautiful. I love that you can see right through into the next room. That’s gonna be so cozy during the winter months and I love the fact that you utilize it to cook in as well. I can’t wait to see that. Also, wanted to say hello I’m a new subscriber. Absolutely love your channel. I love how real and honest you are. It’s needed at this time right now. Love the story about the apron. 😊
