February 4th 2022!!! SO EXCITED! that live read was amazing, as was the trailer. I can't believe how far they've come, top kickstarter, top of twitch, Campaign 3, I can't wait to see what happens next!
The official 3rd campaign is supposed to be happening sometime later this year like around November or December, as they've already shown off the set and it looks great and Matt confirmed that they are sticking with format they've been using when the pandemic started.
I desperately NEED as much much the scenes as I can get like this. This is what happens when you get a close group of experienced voice actors with creative ideas and hand them $10M to basically make what they want.
I feel like Pike not piping up with a "No he isn't." after that 'pickle' remark was a wasted opportunity. (Because Vax's nickname for Pike was Pickle or Pickles)
I just noticed, besides drinking wine and not ale, Percy is just leaning back against the wall doing nothing when the brawl starts!! 😄👍 such a De Rolo move.
Also, the fight music was an instrumental for "Your Turn to Roll!" I didn't recognize it until I started listening to that old song recently! EASTER EGG, rollers!😅
To everyone complaining that they are being too vulgar, remember the setting they are in. They are in a bar where more than half the party is sloshed with a bunch of other patrons who are probably buzzed themselves where the F bomb is probably common place. Best to wait and see them in the king's court or some other place of high renown before saying that the script is too inappropriate.
Uh.. did you watch the original show or no? They have no incentive to make it clean. It's not airing on Nickelodeon, or even Adult Swim. It's straight up Amazon Prime, home of Invincible and The Boys and everything else. They were probably encouraged to cut loose and talk however they wanna talk, especially because they did back in their original campaign. Everyone from Pike to Percy is gonna cuss up a storm and it's just something you have to get used to to watch anything made by Critical Role. It grates on me too a bit when it's scripted, but like it or not, it's true to the source material.
That's going to be incredible. Though since the whole Briarwood arc is going to be resolved in season 1 and Amazon has paid for a season 2, I'm already calling that the season finale will end on the cliffhanger of the Chroma Conclave's arrival at Emon.
@@VegetaLF7 Do we know how many episodes season one is going to be? So many shows nowadays have like, eight episodes per season, but I'd be stoked with like, 24 episodes. How they used to do it not that long ago.
@@ChaoticDumbAce I haven't seen the whole series, I think people had issues with Korra but the animation was never an issue I heard about so I think it'll be great.
i cant wait for for this show. there are so little adult oriented animated series that arent raunchy comedies in western animation. Hope shows like this and Invincible help pave the way for more to come.
Same! Animation can be used for such a wide variety of genres, but in the west when used for adults they seem to always default to raunchy comedy paired with lacking and at times ugly visuals. It's nice to see a more adult show that's going to be both a good story and pretty to look at visually :D
I certainly hope that would be the case, given Matt's rather graphic descriptions of the various kills throughout the show. Not making a gore fest would be doing it a disservice.
Love the Shifter or Werewolf backing up Matt's character here. I can already tell I'll be watching the show again looking at the background characters.
Big Spoiler for later part of Campaign 2 I wanted to mention because it's even funnier with this scene: Remember how Keyleth's mom said 'Oh no, my family doesn't drink' Hard cut to this scene where Keyleth gets wasted
I absolutely love that they've not toned anything down for the sake of family friendliness or marketing, not like they should even feel like that'd be a good idea anyway considering how few good adult fantasy series exist these days
I hope the world opens up and actually understand how monumental this whole thing is, i feel like this is but one step to paw the way for others in the future that might be able to achive the same like CR have done, boy what a time to be alive.
I have to give props to the Barkeep. Got his hand full on severed and didn't bat an eye, now that's some D&D level of attention. A long rest will clean him right up
Man, I’m loving seeing all these clutched pearls. They for sure haven’t seen the source material. Just because it’s Fantasy doesn’t mean it has to be kid friendly. And besides, it’s almost like the immaturity is supposed to be a contrast of character for things like “character arcs”. Especially since the story of this show is… really dark.
So many adults nowadays watch nothing but media made for kids and become convinced that any kind of violence or swearing is forced. Disney rots the brain.
Oh absolutely. They said from the get go this show was not going to be toned down for kids, that it is very much adult animation. I'm genuinely not going to be surprised if we get uncensored nudity on top of everything at one point (how often did Vox Machina bathe together? Hell, Vex full on flashed Grog in the Vasselheim arc to motivate him at one point). Anyone complaining that this show is too vulgar or violent is only kidding themselves, this isn't a kid's show.
Totally. This is a unique media genre, too. A RPG live play converted into a scripted animated show. They're literally breaking new ground here and I'm happy that they're not cleaning it up and making unlike the source material. I encourage people to be open to whatever it ends up being because our community made this. Let's let it be pure and whatever it needs to be.
@@EricBurnetMusic Slight amendment to that, it's not 100% new ground as there have been animated shows based off D&D sessions in the past. Granted this one was based mostly off the livestreamed game, but also off their private home game. The 1990's anime Record of Lodoss War is probably the most well known example of this happening before. That started as a D&D game that was recorded into a readable transcription of the session that was popular at the time, which got turned into a novel, which got turned into an anime. Not to take away how special of a circumstance Legend of Vox Machina finds itself in, it's just in a super rare situation rather than a entirely unique one.

i'm surprised that nobody is amazed by how they're live-reading, right beside each other, without the script immediately in their hands, etc. like... that's epic. they're so skilled at their craft and i'm imagining that it didn't take them too many takes to do it, either.
I have to wonder if they aren't using a teleprompter to keep the shots of them clean.
@@Roccondil I think they are. They're all looking in the same direction just off screen
Let's see: drinking, vomiting, swearing, sexual suggestions, violence.
I think we are going to love this.
All that's missing are some dragon fights but that comes later ;)
Right?? I love how they made all of that CRYSTAL CLEAR right up front.
And yet most of VM fanbase till needs content warning when an imaginery child gets hurt. PC culture at its finest.
@@Csoongor And you know what, yes, I'll own it. You are entirely correct:

I'm anxiously waiting for NEXT Thursdays, but I don't have prime so that's probably why I don't care as much about the cartoons release date

@@derrickhaggard Campaign 3 starts October 21!

Keyleth "my family doesnt drink" of the Air Ashari
I desperately NEED as much much the scenes as I can get like this.
This is what happens when you get a close group of experienced voice actors with creative ideas and hand them $10M to basically make what they want.
It was ELEVEN!!! ;)
I feel like Pike not piping up with a "No he isn't." after that 'pickle' remark was a wasted opportunity.
(Because Vax's nickname for Pike was Pickle or Pickles)
It would also be unexpectedly flirtatious towards Vax, but Pike has a history of being unexpectedly flirtatious haha
Depending on when this scenario took place Kiki would've chimed in too. Mostly to say that's her job.
Surely this will be rated G (for Grog)
Also ale
@@DrDonkeyBurgers Did I mention Ale!?
You sure it isn't rated R for 'RAGE'? :P
vax trying his luck even when he starting a fight. Grog drinks and hits things, Kiki pukes and Pike looks after her
And Percy just drinks his wine indifferent to everything
Oh how I‘ve missed Vax‘s danger-flirting
To everyone complaining that they are being too vulgar, remember the setting they are in. They are in a bar where more than half the party is sloshed with a bunch of other patrons who are probably buzzed themselves where the F bomb is probably common place. Best to wait and see them in the king's court or some other place of high renown before saying that the script is too inappropriate.
Plus, despite it being a cartoon, this show is NOT intended for children.
Uh.. did you watch the original show or no? They have no incentive to make it clean. It's not airing on Nickelodeon, or even Adult Swim. It's straight up Amazon Prime, home of Invincible and The Boys and everything else. They were probably encouraged to cut loose and talk however they wanna talk, especially because they did back in their original campaign.
Everyone from Pike to Percy is gonna cuss up a storm and it's just something you have to get used to to watch anything made by Critical Role. It grates on me too a bit when it's scripted, but like it or not, it's true to the source material.
Completely on form for Vox Machina, too. Nothing here that wouldn’t have been in the game.
I feel like the ppl crying about vulgarity didnt watch the same campaign i did?! VM are NASTY
@@SkoloT We are talking about a team that was originally named "The Shits"
I've been anticipating the attack in Whitestone for so long. Dinosaur Scanlan is gonna be awesome!
That's going to be incredible. Though since the whole Briarwood arc is going to be resolved in season 1 and Amazon has paid for a season 2, I'm already calling that the season finale will end on the cliffhanger of the Chroma Conclave's arrival at Emon.
@@VegetaLF7 that would work so well

Keyleth: 0:28
Well, considering she had only *one* drink and ended up like that...
I'm getting some real Avatar vibes from the animation style. I'm basically vibrating with excitement!
Titmouse, the animation studio they're using, did Korra. So that makes sense

Castlevania netflix is the reason more shows like this and Invincible are being greenlit
Also check out Blood of Zeus, Seis Manos and Trese
@@JiF28 I completely forgot to mention Castlevania. and for the rest, i will have to check out. Thank you!
Same! Animation can be used for such a wide variety of genres, but in the west when used for adults they seem to always default to raunchy comedy paired with lacking and at times ugly visuals. It's nice to see a more adult show that's going to be both a good story and pretty to look at visually :D
Wow. It’s just as good as I imagined! I love Titmouse’e style! Like a new season of D&D-themed Avatar.
when you hear professional anything you usually picture them as serious, but with critical role they are professional and smiling!
Love how the anime vo and just vo experience is kicking in with this. Love these guys.
Every time I hear Travis do Grog, the more I’m convinced he's having the time of his life.
literally brings tears to my eyes to see how far these guys have come and seeing voice actors finally getting the recognition they deserve.

i like that blood spray when the arm came off they are not going to throw any punches with gore in this
I certainly hope that would be the case, given Matt's rather graphic descriptions of the various kills throughout the show. Not making a gore fest would be doing it a disservice.
@@VegetaLF7 i cant wait to see the dragon fisting attack in HD
It's so close! I can't wait. I can tell the cast is having a blast working on this.
Love the Shifter or Werewolf backing up Matt's character here. I can already tell I'll be watching the show again looking at the background characters.
I'm gonna guess he's a bugbear? No idea though lol
I believe he’s Dogfolk!
oh wait, that guy! yeah hmmm I agree dogfolk maybe? I thought at first some odd kinda gnoll but dogfolk makes way more sense lol
Gnoll was my thought, too.
Big Spoiler for later part of Campaign 2 I wanted to mention because it's even funnier with this scene:
Remember how Keyleth's mom said 'Oh no, my family doesn't drink'
Hard cut to this scene where Keyleth gets wasted
(Falls off bed laughing) oh is she in for a surprise then. XD
Finds out her Archdruid daughter has to attend the Exandria equivalent of the AA
I'm pretty sure Matt chose to say that about her family because Keyleth always showcased herself as a lightweight.
Please Percy in the corner at the end face palming is perfect
SO FREAKIN' EXCITED! Can't wait for the raw talent of this cast reach the ears of so many more people, their huge success makes me so happy for them.
When he said “you offering to help” i fuckin lost it
The animations, the voices, the comedy… I’m HYPED!
Man, this is amazing. And even more so watching them doing the voicing with the animation.
I absolutely love that they've not toned anything down for the sake of family friendliness or marketing, not like they should even feel like that'd be a good idea anyway considering how few good adult fantasy series exist these days
@yuoop noke February 4th
I’m happy with this preview as well. I appreciate they made it for and to appeal to the fans.
I hope the world opens up and actually understand how monumental this whole thing is, i feel like this is but one step to paw the way for others in the future that might be able to achive the same like CR have done, boy what a time to be alive.
Yea.. I doubt that.
So that's how that hand got in the bag of holding

"Are you looking to help?" "Yeah.... wait." 😂
This is exactly the right amount of chaotic neutral for Vox Machina
I just want to say, I love the teamwork.
Vax moving the arm to give Grog an easy hit at it is awesome!

They're all gonna be at NYCC again this year. Goddamn I'm having to get a extra day ticket now.
This looks so fucking good lol. I remember getting together with a few friends and ordering pizza to watch these absolute nerds play D&D. Now I'm gonna be watching a fully fledged show depicting things that we were only able to imagine in our heads. Wild.

Season two… don’t skip it. You will miss out on some amazing things that happened. Inside jokes will go over your head.
