Grrr! I've been trying to solder inner bezels for years and the results have been hit-and-miss at best. I had pretty much limited myself to round tube settings and cabochons to avoid inner bezels. You've given me hope that I can actually do this. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your informative knowledge. It's nice to have a real fresh insight into doing faceted bezels. I really love your loop-in-loop gold necklace thst you're wearing. What gauge gold wire is it and the what size was the dowel used to make the jump rings for it? I would love if you could demonstrate how to make the loop-in-loop chain. Thanks guys! ❤
So glad you enjoyed it! My chain is 24 gauge on an 1/4 inch dowel. If you search my channel, there are a bunch of videos on making loop in loop chains. :)
Love your work! I saw you guys no longer sell this ball vice anymore - what vice would you recommend for setting soft stones in the same way by locking the ring in the jaws with paper towels, tape etc ? Trying to set some tourmalines. Also do you guys ever make rings that are casted to form a thick bezel like a roman setting? I'd love to see you guys teach how to set those, thanks!
We don’t make a Roman setting with a thick cast bezel, we repousse the groove around the stone. Most of the jewelry vices available are quite expensive, you can get just a table top vise off of amazon for a more affordable option. 😃.
@@polarjeez We use this technique for faceted stones and cabochons with curved bottoms, settings with details that need the stone raised, etc. Lots of my setting videos use an inner bezel for lots of different scenarios. Very Useful! :)
So so helpful! I’ve been struggling with inner bezels for a long time. One question - what gauge fine silver sheet do you use for the inner bezel? Thanks so much for your videos. I learn so much!
I'm just lazy and it works so well! I made some brooches with lots of leaves, I used crown bezel wire, and I put a teardrop shaped wire in each one, this saved me so much time! I love short cuts! Too much to do and so little time! I love your videos❤️ P.S. I also use tweesers to place my solder, that solder pick must be one of those traditions some people hold onto.....not me😁
