Why is no one surprised by the fact that the entire villagers are descendants of legendary Belmont clan. When the return of the Dracula was near, their Belmont blood called to them to the same location. Despite their colorful personalities, as all Belmonts do, they were all eligible to wield Vampire Killer and defeat Dracula.
It's never stated in any official source that Richter was unable to use the whip. What we do know factually from Portrait Of Ruin is that Richter gave up the whip because shortly after SOTN Nostradamus made a prophecy about Dracula dying for good in 1999 if the Belmonts refrain from using the Vampire Killer until then. So, logically, seeing a possibility of not just redeeming himself from his failure, but also ending the endless cycle of light battling darkness (as well as the figurative curse of the Belmont family's duty), Richter made his decision to give up the whip. His hunch was finally proven to be correct when, during the Demon Castle War of 1999, Julius Belmont, alongside Alucard, the Catholic Church, some Hakuba shrine priests and an entire military force had managed to completely eradicate Dracula by killing him after his power (the Castle) got sealed in an eclipse.
@Ahmad Adnan It's not specified what series of events led up to the duel as well as the circumstances that it happened under. From Aria of Sorrow we know for a fact that the Hakuba priests sealed the castle, and that the world's military fought back against Dracula (hence zombie soldiers). Plus Alucard definitely helped Julius. Do you really think he would've just sat back and done nothing during the final battle between light and darkness? I find that hard to believe. What I'm trying to say is that yes, while Julius did fight 1v1 against Dracula, he definitely got a lot of help to get the duel to happen in the first place, and that Dracula was definitely weakened at some point by his castle being sealed, which is why Julius was able to kill him for good in the first place. "Almighty prime Julius" is just a myth that has little to no evidence supporting it, so get over it.
I thought I have watch enough anime to feel not touched and envies those anyone who had loving, protective brothers, even it must cost their lives. Not to mention they keep acting like the villain so the younger sibling would hate, dammit. I' touched, I'm sad.
SHANOAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I don't know why he still says that in Albus Mode and you don't. One time in Albus Mode both the Albus boss and the Albus I was using killed each other. He Shanoaaaugh'ed and I simply made a death scream.
I can't believe how cheap this strategy is, I lost about 10 times, so while I was in the middle of a battle, I tried this, while I was at ~200 health, finished it immediately with ~140 in 1 try. Thanks!
all games have their own "strategy" if you wanna call it, i beat Hugh in circle of the moon the same way, you just have to stay close to him so he dont shoot you with his magic attacks
I never played OoE but I like this Shanoa character. She's so beautiful and exotic, very Asian looking. The one thing I find strange about her and Alucard is how they fight with their long hair unbound and flowing. Realistically, hair that long would be a hindrance on the battlefield unless it was tied back and restrained.
Miss Elly Alucard's a vampire I doubt his hair could really be that much of a hindrance to him. Plus shanoa uses her hair to block the gliff on her back, she primarily uses weapons conjured with magic so I doubt the hair really gets in the way for her either.
Very easy way to beat him Vol scutum + vol umbra. Just Shield and spam umbra, you will only take damage from those twin dark & light ball. Shield stops gun shots and the big ball spell. If you keep attacking him while shielding he wouldn't do another thing than spells and gun shots.
You can fight him whenever you reach that point in the game - doesn't matter how many villagers you saved. ...That said, what happens *after* the battle changes quite a lot depending on whether you rescued them all or not.
As thencutscene says, thebonly way his soul remains intact enough to survive inside dominus and for Shaneoa to learn the truth was to absorb the power of the 13 Belmont Decendents, Fail that and Shanoea releases Dracula unwittingly
@Christina Mathews Thats the union glyph (Y+UP), for when you have a Light glyph equiped in the first slot and a Dark glyph equiped on the second slot...
Albus: No, Shanoa... RUN! You have to get away from here! Now!
Shanoa: I can't, Albus. There's a boss door in the way.
Albus: **sigh** BARNACLE SHOT!!!!

I like to fight albus the old fashion, I didn't want to use any of the union attacks. To me it makes the fight more exciting.
Getting all of the boss medals was a bitch, especially certain medals(I'm looking at you, Blackmore and Eligor...).
Try getting 9 of each. That was fun.

Fun fact: Albus is voiced by the same person who voiced Speedwagon
For being one of the most acrobatic playable characters, his fighting pattern sure is slow.
Zetto Vii He wasn't at his best i guess
Dracula's power is a helluva drug, he was high as hell

On my game it skipped the whole sequence with albus afterward me just went straight to the castle where you use it and die

If they ever made a Castlevania movie and Shanoa was featured, I'd say Eva Green would fit the role.
