- The Githyanki Patrol can be a deadly encounter. There's a hard hitting (although crappy aim) Great Weapon Master and another that cast Hold Person. We take aim and do our best to end it swiftly.
We're level 5!
Karmic dice: Off

Solo Warlock: • [Act 1] Solo - Nautilo...
Solo Paladin/Wizard: • [Act 1] Solo Death Kni...
Solo Shadow Monk: • [Act 1] Solo Shadow Mo...

So calming watching how you approach each scenario. Keep it coming.
Thanks, will do!
LOL the push, always the thing that gets me too
I really did not see that coming! Thankfully it's not that high of a fall, could had ended pretty bad otherwise.
So, I've been trying to do honour mode (not solo yet) but I can't really get past act 1 due to always getting bad rolls.
Anyways, nice vid again! Your builds are so much fun to watch!
Thank you Rimi! Act 1 is honestly really tough. Low hp and most builds doesn't come "online" until later. Low rolls are really rough during those circumstances. It's a learning curve too of course. Keep it up and shoot questions if you have em! :)
And thank you, glad that you enjoy em! ^^
I think the most impressive part of this battle besides being solo honour mode is that you don't come into these fights with a full spell load out but instead use them tactically for maximum effect and spell slot/resource efficientcy. I think most people would just full rest between each fight just to be safe especially for such a dangerous fight like this.
Oh thank you 🖤. I put a lot of faith into that first cloud of daggers, it usually wrecks them quite good, then we can use cantrip/alchemy flasks to wrap up the last part :)
sarth baretha was really fighting tooth and nail till the end there damn, but still she's no match for a shove/alchemist fire combo
I enjoyed throwing that last flask :D
Me trying to group them with the minor illusion and they are all over the place :D
Yeah it can be really awkward getting them to group up.
Back to the Githyanki patrol! Sweet 🙂
\o/
Shovel is just so cute. :).
I have Wyll right now as abjuration wizard - and nobody wants to hit him in melee (except a few steel watchers) but everybody tries to hit him from range so the whole point of armor of agathys doesn't fly. Yes, he's next to immortal, but he's also not much fun.
Watching you play really inspires me to try a nccro in my next run.
👍
Shovel has grown to be my favorite summon with her lines. She's awesome
@@FriendlyLich One level tempest cleric for the counter reaction, two levels of Warlock for armor of agathys and mage armor and nine levels of wizard. With blade ward on and abjuration on 18 nothing normal below 36 points of damage hurts him. BUT ... the AI of the mobs attack with either range or turn to other party members so it's more of a solo build - and he's intentionally just AC 19.
Anyway, I took a page of your playbook and let Gale perish in that run just to enjoy some other party banter - and it was really worth it. On one occasion Wyll and Shadowheart start to cite a naughty interaction between a mermaid and some adventurer from a book. I nearly fell of my chair 🤣.
Man, there are so many interactions between so many combinations of characters in the game, that alone is worth playing with a party :)
@@jotun5383 I have been planning a run with a very similar build like that. I wonder how much it will differ with being solo. What weapons did you use?
Haha, yes! I do miss the interaction between party members, just feels a bit weird to play with a party now a days 😅
@@FriendlyLich I started with spell sparkler, then spell sparkler plus Mourning Frost for an ice wizard - but I kept hindering my own party members with all those ice area effects. 😂 That and a lacking of hit chance. This changed after I gave him the fire acuity hat (from the strange ox in act ii), incandescent staff and the helldusk gloves.
One scorching ray later and my hit chances are sky high. :) . Now also my hand crossbows help keeping the acuity high. This is one nice little trick that any caster should at least know. The only sad thing about it is that you have to kill the strange ox for it - it seems the trick from act i doesn't work and one cannot steal it from him. Ah well, that's a sacrifice I'm ready to make. 😁
Ice storm is nuts. Quick and clean.
Agreed, I did not really expect that much damage coming out from it to be honest.
Nicely done!! I just lost my run at dror.. i freed the spiders and they started their own combat. And my combat was partially dragged into it. They were turnbased and mine was real time 😩 think that was a glitch
Oh no! I have not had such a thing happen to me. I agree that it really sounds like a bug/glitch, sucks to lose runs to stuff like that :(
how did you already get to level 5?
I've done (I think) everything above ground and also exploded the mind flayer. There's a youtube (cant remember name) that got a video on how to hit 8(!) in act 1 even. Crazy as hell :)
Thanks for the upload!
My pleasure!
When I first tried to use minor illusion to clump up enemies, I didn't think to use turn based mode. Would've made positioning so much easier.
It's a really neat trick for sure. Maybe even too good :)
I always do the patrol before the underdark, guess that's stupid haha.
This looked easy!
It's not stupid if it works! I just find myself being too much of a chicken to do it earlier than 5 to be honest. Same with Owlbears, they are really rough if they get a hit in.
in the githyanki fight on normal mode on my first time I had to reload that fight multiple times, also managed to call the trolls, one of them died (not Lump sadly) and the other 2 never came back when I sounded the horn again, making me miss that easy intelligence booster item. :( But I had a lot of gith gears to sell back to the giths. XD I also then went on to slaughter their whole crèche, but I didn't bother with the gith egg because there was too much traps around and it took me way too long to check where the blood of lathander was without getting the whole building down on me so. Your necromancer is fun, I started 2 runs with one tielfing lady who will go full necromancer, she's named Coral, looks creepy beautiful and is pretty evil and also is the dark urge, and a normal half-wood elf necromancer/spore druid lady who is a normal person instead of being the durge but is also extremely evil and also a contradiction of what she represents as a druid as she cares more about the dead than living beings, outside of animals, and had a very twisted upbringing in my idea of her past which explains why she seems more fit to be a dark urge but she's actually a normal half wood elf who got a very messed up childhood given her parents are what her classes are, so it was very dark, creepy, and interesting, somehow given that was her normal life she looks relatively adjusted but she is a real sadist at heart.
Love that you put thoughts into a background story for your characters! Rough to hear about Lump though!
@@FriendlyLich Yeah. I try. ^^ Yeah, that really bummed me out, of course my Wizard tiefling is intelligent enough without it, but it would have been nice to have it for another character who could have been well with it.
Quick and dirty. Loved this.
Shovel is the best!
She really is!
It’s the same amount of exp if you talk or fight them right?
I believe it is, but I'm not 100% confident.
с грехом пополам...) не всегда всё проходит гладко! Cras melius fore
Can't always have a smooth run, would probably be a bit boring too if that was the case :)
@@FriendlyLich indeed ))
I did this fight recently on a tactician playthrough, decided I wanted to try the "Steal Kith'rak Voss' greatsword," exploit... just because I hadn't tried it yet. It... did not go well. I wiped and reloaded multiple times. Mind you, I had full party but it also relies on opening the fight in the least advantageous was possible. But, I did end up doing it... then while thinking about it later, I looked at the BG3 wiki, and realized my party was about 2 levels too low for this encounter, lol. I'm such a masochist [read: idiot.]
Hah they can be quite a hand full on lvl 3 for sure! Challenges are part of the fun imo :) Did you get the sword in the end?
Baretha scares me, but that fight with gale/shovel was so easy I just stayed behind the bushes 👀
Yeah she can really bring the hurt! But thankfully her +hit is pretty bad :)
Going well this run!
Quite smooth so far, only a few hiccups! :)
What is that Aura around you
Shield of Thralls. An Illithid power.
Exactly what Kamn said. Refreshes on short rest too so can squeeze out 3 per rest.
