It’s incredibly strong for this point of the game, but I disagree with it being the strongest Armor in the game, the only thing it really has going for it in act 3 is having 1 more AC than +2 Plate Amour and reducing all damage taken by 3, but Dammon sells a piece of Armour that also reduces all damage, while giving you Blade Ward and Resistance at all times. The ability to fly is irrelevant in act 3 due to everyone having free access to permanent flight anyway, and the burn is negligible outside of some niche builds.
Let me ask you something. Is this armor that Damon sells available for any casters to wear?? What’s that? It isn’t? 🤔 🤷🏻♂️ I guess that’s something else that the HellDusk Armor has going for it huh? EVERYONE is proficient with it! That’s what makes it the best.
@@jcase6199 Why bother asking a question that you’re just gonna answer yourself lmao. Don’t do that, it makes you look like a massive tool. As for casters, by Act 3 they have some of the best choices for armour in the game that faaaar exceed this mediocre armour. The only thing this armour gives them is AC, I guess, but they don’t really need to worry about that when they can prevent everything from being able to play, anything that helps their DC is MUCH more preferable for them, and they can still get respectable AC without it, and using resources they have that part completely covered anyway. From memory this armour gives you 21 AC, a lot of spellcasters can easily get to 30 AC without this armour. Sure, they need to spend resources to get that high, but in Act 3 that doesn’t really matter. Pretty much every optimised spellcaster build already gets proficiency with heavy amour anyway, so the the armour making you automatically proficient with it is isn’t really that special by the point you’d normally get it. The only build I could MAYBE see using it in Act 3 is Arcane Trickster, as it’s the only Rogue that can somewhat keep up in endgame thanks to being able to sling Spells and Sneak Attack in the same turn. But even that’s really only because Rogue in particular got shafted for armour choices compared to everyone else. Also, some Clerics do get the armour from Dammon, and last time I checked, they are in fact spellcasters.
I have tried this multiple ways and every time I cast silence, the camp turns on me. I am an Oathbreak and even if I regain my oath before doing this, they still turn hostile. It keeps making me take a stealth check (which shadowheart fails every single time). Even if she does pass the stealth check, it's like the whole camp is looking for the culprit. I have reloaded a few times and tried it and have been unsuccessful. And sometimes, she will make the save but when I swap to Tav and start to run over there to attack him, the camp turns hostile. So, I am stumped. Also, there are no allies in the sphere. Just Raphael.
I believe his appearance has to do if you've come in contact with an illithid tadpole specimen. Nettie in Emerald Grove has one in her shop. Take it and hold onto it, then try what the video suggests
He ALWAWYS spawns for me in Act I as near as just outside of the Druids Grove gate. The place where you have to jump and hike to the top of that burned outpost on the hill.
The easiest way to trigger raf is to actually consume a parasite. If you consume a parasite and go to any of three locations he will pop up immediately. Typically based on when you can aquire them the two most common places are the broken bridge and the druid camp near alfira.
@@MrGeeBee34 So if you go to mountain pass, do you have to actually pass through to have him go to your camp? Because if yes, then don't you have to finish everything in Act 1 before you do that?
i already finished blighted village and met raphael, can i still use this glitch when i met raphael again? or the only chance is wait till act 3 when we met him on house of hope?
If i go to the mountian pass, wont that like end any quests in act 1? Like for example the emerald grove or any other quests? I kinda wanna do them before going to the mountainpass
Correct, the quests will have their canon outcome so after interrupting the first convo with Raphael, play as normal and finish your quests. he'll show up at camp once you're ready to leave Act 1.
Does this work on ps5 because I got his health low and I had non lethal damage on and I even went into turn based mode but he doesn’t fall on the ground he just immediately teleports away.
How do you even get him to appear in that place? For me Raphael appeared inside the goblin camp, teleported Astarion to another dimension where i couldnt interact with him and never showed up again until act 2.
There are a bunch of specific places he can appear (Next to the Harpies/Alfira, next to the love barn, next to the guidance amulet... etc), and from what I know he always appears on the first of those places that you visit AFTER you got at least one parasite (Not sure if you need to actually need to turn the parasite into points or just having the item is enough, though).
When I knock him out he just instantly disappears. Zero way to loot. I did everything the same and even tried other methods and it doesn't matter he just teleports gone. No animation, no knock out. Just gone the frame he goes to 1 health.
@@Meoscend ok it finally worked for me on a different playthrough. Iirc the mountain pass only locks you out of the druid grove if you haven't dealt with the ritual yet. If you kill the druids, investigate kagha, or free halsin so he becomes the leader then you should be fine to enter the mountain pass
It means that the unfinished quests will be marked as completed and their canon ending will take effect. E.g. if you haven't rescued Halsin yet then he'll die if you proceed to Act 2.

Hhhm; doesnt seem to work on console as I dont have the option of switching over to another character while my main separate is talking to Raphael
Gotta distance your solo character further then while in dialogue hit LT should work
Still works as of 13th of July. Remember to toggle non-lethal on :D
Thanks for sharing :)
Heading to the Mountain Pass early doesn't break any of the Grove quests does it?
It will, unfortunately. So only head there once you've done everything you wanted to do in Act 1.
Do we know what specifically it breaks in Act 1 besides the grove quest?@@MrGeeBee34
Like any of the Underdark/Nere stuff?
@@flyinalexnope, only breaks the Grove questline. underdark etc stays the same
I have tried this multiple ways and every time I cast silence, the camp turns on me.
Patch 5 or 6?
@@renovajinn5434 patch 6
cast silence from your avatar, not a companion.
I cast it with shadowheart, work at least
Rafael never spawns at that location in any of my playtroughs. Alwayls get hem at the Selune outpost in the Underdark.
@avellimike yep, that's where I get him too. Every time.
The easiest way to trigger raf is to actually consume a parasite. If you consume a parasite and go to any of three locations he will pop up immediately.
Typically based on when you can aquire them the two most common places are the broken bridge and the druid camp near alfira.
Yeah, I've had him spawn close to where you find Scratch and on top of the hill with the spiders in the rocky crevice.
We did everything but he disappeared he had silence on him
I think it's patched
Question do you NEED to do this asap or can you do this later on?
You can only do this in Act 1.
Feel like this got patched finally? He just teleports even with non lethal being on.
someone said it still works, and they posted 6 days after you.
Does this cause issue with any quest progression?
Nope.
@@MrGeeBee34 So if you go to mountain pass, do you have to actually pass through to have him go to your camp? Because if yes, then don't you have to finish everything in Act 1 before you do that?
Still work?
@@nadia00033yup, i Just do it on xbox
@@Northwiteactually, you must at least save the emerald grove from olodan before, unless the ritual Will go on, and block the grove.
i already finished blighted village and met raphael, can i still use this glitch when i met raphael again? or the only chance is wait till act 3 when we met him on house of hope?
If he already took you to the House of Hope then it's no longer possible to do the glitch. You'll have to wait til Act 3 to get the armor.
Its not letting me switch characters 2 attack him when we "ungrouo" and he appears..
Am i missing something???
He just keeps blathering on 2 my tav without letting me interrupt with ungrouped companion
That happens if the character you're switching to is too near. Try moving him farther away from Raphael's spawn point.
Great! Thx!
@@MrGeeBee34 Yes, this happened to me and I realized I was too close. Went back to my previous save and moved him back and it then worked.
does this change anything with future interactions with raphael?
Nope! Raphael turns the other cheek (What a nice guy right!)
As said by someone before, the only différence is that you Will find him beated at Last Light inn
How bad does it break the story though. I got the gith sword and made laezel think we had advanced the story act 3.
It doesn’t break anything he talks and interacts with you like nothing even happened
Is it no longer possible to get experience for killing/knocking him out?
Doesnt seem like it... no party exp gain on log.
Not worth the hassle if no exp
It still worked for me
I've got him downed, but the game isn't giving me an option to loot or pickpocket him at all.
Nevermind, I had to down him out of turn based for the loot option to come up. 😐
Glad it worked out :)
Does this work on ps5 because I got his health low and I had non lethal damage on and I even went into turn based mode but he doesn’t fall on the ground he just immediately teleports away.
Did you ever find an answer on this? Same thing just happened to me
Same here
It happened on PC too
Someone answer this! Please!
@@MrXM1 No I still haven’t found an answer to it yet sadly. And sorry that I didn’t respond sooner, I didn’t know that you responded to my comment.
How do you even get him to appear in that place? For me Raphael appeared inside the goblin camp, teleported Astarion to another dimension where i couldnt interact with him and never showed up again until act 2.
There are a bunch of specific places he can appear (Next to the Harpies/Alfira, next to the love barn, next to the guidance amulet... etc), and from what I know he always appears on the first of those places that you visit AFTER you got at least one parasite (Not sure if you need to actually need to turn the parasite into points or just having the item is enough, though).
still works as of 13/09/24
When I knock him out he just instantly disappears. Zero way to loot. I did everything the same and even tried other methods and it doesn't matter he just teleports gone. No animation, no knock out. Just gone the frame he goes to 1 health.
same thing happens for me, maybe it was fixed in a recent hotfix ?
@@Meoscend ok it finally worked for me on a different playthrough. I don't know why exactly it wasn't working before but I noticed if I had anything that was doing extra damage in any way like rings or potions or whatever that caused it to not work. @@alvinbgyt5143so apparently it doesn't work if you have any gear doing any extra damage other than the basic weapon damage. Anyone know if this is possible in tactician mode? I tried it, and he has 865 health, but when I throw the last hit, he always vanishes…
My entire party tries to kill me as soon as I do this
If you have the Oathbreaker paladin NPC in your camp, check the pinned message.
Why does Raph disappear after being stunned? Doesn't it work anymore in patch 6?
You can only reduce his hitpoints to zero when he's in your camp. Attacking him anywhere else and he'll disappear.
@@MrGeeBee34 That's right, I attacked him in the camp and he disappeared after I stunned him, gave him 1400 experience, but he himself disappeared

after i finished this the grove has closed ?
is this the consequences ?

do you get exp? I cant see you got it in the video
Supposed to get 1400xp I think.
I just ruined an honor mode playthrough, it seems the oathbreaker paladin knight doesn't enjoy it when you do this and will rek your whole camp
But I did find that arsonists oil on the everburn blade should take a big chunk out of him
i heard that there was like a point of no return when you enter mountain pass and can't continue with the act 1 quests how does that work, idk i'm new help
E.g. if you haven't rescued Halsin yet then he'll die if you proceed to Act 2.
aaah okay thank you so muchh!
You finish all the act 1 quests first?
@@nova9731 apperantly you just gotta rush the grove quest if you wanna get the armor and then continue with the rest

I just did everything correctly and it doesnt work anymore. They fixed this route.
Work on xbox
Does this break your missions in act 1?
No, it won't.
Actually yes, you must finish the emerald grove quest (at least investigation on kagha) , or the grove Will be blocked by the ritual
So this doesn’t affect the story at all?
Nope.
Did they patch it every time I get him low he disappears I do have non lethal attacks on
I am betting they patched it.

I did this. I didn't know I had to complete the whole act first lol. Where are his spawn points at?
In my playthroughs, he usually appears near the bridge as shown in the vid. But he can also show up in the Underdark and Goblin Camp.
what happens if he doesn't show up at the destroyed bridge, do I just reload the save until he spawns? or do I need to lvl more?
Don't worry about it. He can spawn at other locations. Just make sure you talk to Nettie at the Grove.

Yep, I did this a couple of hours ago!
Can anything even hit you in act 1 if you get this armor?
