INTPs are the best people if you are seeking for logical answers, and long discussions! They really enjoy talking about ideological things, and sometimes, you may find it tends to a more philosophical topic.

Edit: I’m sorry this is so long! Ive basically typed up my whole life story so I hope you enjoy reading lol. I was meant to be explaining the struggles of being a misunderstood INTP but my wind wandered and I spent an hour writing this during the night.
I’m an INTP and I’ve been constantly told that I have “problems” since I was five and it’s damaged me in a lot of ways. I was (and still am) bullied for being different and not conforming to social norms. People think that INTPs don’t care about fitting in or socialising, when in reality we do care. We are just so awkward and don’t know how to do this. We tend to get better at handling social situations by making observations.
Another thing that sets me apart is that I’m not the stereotypical female. Intuition, thinking and perceiving and considered ‘male’ personality traits so I’ve found it really hard to make friends with the other girls. In fact I recall my first friend being a boy. We were friends for two years until he moved schools. I was really upset as he was a much better friend than all the other friends who ended up betraying me.
I was also seen as a nerd throughout primary (elementary) school. In year 6, the new teacher basically realised I was really intelligent and I got given the harder work in lessons and it was really embarrassing as everyone found out and made fun of me for it. I was VERY socially awkward at the time and had no clue how to talk to people. Whenever I tried to make friends, it would turn out to be a disaster and people made up all sorts of rumours and avoided me. I ended up avoiding them as well and went off to to read by myself at recess.
Last year I started secondary school and I changed myself and tried to be a totally different person. I ended up messing up and getting bullied even more. My grades dropped as well and I went through a lot that year. I started taking risks just to please people and prove that I was not a coward. I threw the whole concept of logic out of the window just to show people I could be exciting and outgoing. I got involved with drama and conflict which lead to a period of depression and thoughts of self harm. I thought that there was really something wrong with me.
Over the summer, I thought about all this and realised the importance of being your true and authentic self and not changing who you are just to fit in with society’s rules and expectations. There’s no point trying to be like everyone else. By being yourself, you are putting something into this world that wasn’t there before.
Mbti has really helped me to accept who I am. I feel like I’m understood. I’m starting to better understand my past mistakes so I don’t make them again.
Mbti has also helped me to partially overcome my social awkwardness and I now find it a bit easier to be around people, though I still have a long way to go.

wow im so sorry you went through all that. people too call me a coward, and view me as something is wrong with me as I do not fill expectations that sj types do. I can see you pushing it and doing things to prove that no way am i a coward and yes I fit in. Because, you do want to fit in, even an intp. It gets lonely. So yea I can see you doing things you shouldnt, just to prove that you are brave. so sad intp children have to go through that.

    • @cxffaye
      @cxffaye 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

@@claudiabottom4086 i find it really sad how children alienate those that are different. Two years ago I finally felt understood for the first time in my life. But then it all changed. People got jealous of my grades and they decided to bully me for it and it affected me in a lot of ways.
Another bad thing happened today but it was entirely my fault. I’m going to have to sort this mess out by myself.
I wish I could go back in time and give my younger self a piece of advice.
I just wish I could erase that one thought that lead to all this.

    • @cxffaye
      @cxffaye 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

So I just wrote this pouring out my emotions. Apologies if it’s badly written. I’m quite upset and stuff so I’m just writing random stuff as it makes me feel better.
Nights in bed I hear echoes in my mind.
The question “What have I done?” projected loud and clear, interrupting my thoughts. The guilt overwhelms me and the memories come flooding back. That exact thought I had an hour ago repeats. In a second I’m analysing it, thinking of the various interpretations all over again. Before I come to any real conclusion, this thought is replaced by another. The one I had 3 hours ago. The argument. This quickly fades away. I remember back to that day not so long ago. That precise moment at 10:45 am, when I sat on the cold tiles of the school toilets, crying.
I can no longer feel the emotion i felt at that moment, however the thoughts still linger. The conversation replayed in my mind and realisation hit me. I have only myself to blame for this.

Did any other INTPs have trouble in school? I had trouble focusing when it was a subject I couldn't care less about but when it was a subject I found interesting I would do very well. Also I would be told by other people it was my fault and I just needed to apply myself.

I think the only reason i had really good marks at school is because i chose my favourite subjects and disciplines. For example, before i was able to give up on maths, i HATED that subject (and its teacher), so i didn't make any efforts in it. Therefore i had marks like 5/20 in maths, whereas in the other subjects that i founded interesting (french literature, english, history, philosophy...) my marks were excellent. Plus, i'm certain that i could have had at least 10 to 15/20 in maths if i had seriously worked for it. But i tend to do what i want and only what i want so... ^^"

Idk. I did well on aptitude tests and have represented my country in maths Olympiads and satellite building competitions. I definitely had the potential to excel a lot but my grades were only slightly above average. A lot of people in my classes would do better than me.
I found that this was because of very precise marking schemes. For physics they’d ask you to explain your answer. I’d give a perfectly correct answer but I wouldn’t include a key word that the marking scheme was looking for and I’d get it completely wrong despite my answer being correct to anyone that read it. Also in maths, I’d make so many small mistakes that I’d do really badly despite always knowing how to do it. I have also done well in art competitions but failed art because I kept losing all my art pieces. Also, for geography we had to write essays. But every essay needed an introduction. But I’d sometimes forget the introduction and end up getting 2/30 because the geography marking schemes are brutal.
So basically my carelessness screwed me over. But also rigid marking schemes that don’t allow creative explanations for lazy people.

same. but have you looked at the other personality types as well and then determine which one is closest to how you think and act. as well as take the test over and over to find the common result, and try and click the far right and far left when you think "yeah sometimes" that should narrow it down a bit if you keep getting mixed results but i doubt you would. but ultimately this thing shouldn't control how you think of yourself since you know that changes. if any of the aspects of an intp feel "thats so me" then its probably the cast bucko. if u dont like showing ur working on math problems, or really enjoy prospecting/thinking/what ifs. if you dont like schedules. if your pretty easy going. and when your mind takes over your emotions and you try to understand why you are feeling this way in those moments. then you are an intp. hope that helps a bit. im sure there is a some more you can relate to. also social anxiety/talking like a weirdo. thinking of being a new me. but you just are the same. that kind of thing.

As an INTP - this video is so true for me, that I am a bit angry and want to prove it wrong....just because... :D. Can someone relate? :D
But yeah I pretty much already know all these things about me, after getting deeper in the 16 personalities and so on..., and I am Ok with it. One thing I found pretty interesting though is - yeah I realized I have never talked with another INTP in an environment that we bought know each other is an INTP and talk about the topic itself. I would definitely find this very interesting.

This is what being an INTP is all about:
“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you’ll be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.”

Lol I thoroughly enjoy being an INTP. It's a perk to be naturally intellectual. You see things that others don't. Our perspective is different. We see things in a very objective light. But at the same time, I feel like an alien sometimes. Interpersonal relationship is slightly on the left-side of our central focus in life. Our focus is always on the systems and logic. This is the truly unique part of us. Try not to expect others to understand you, you don't understand the average person either. You won't understand why people always talk about what they ate in the morning.

My fiance is intp, I am infp. He tends to answer me late when I ask him something because he focused on something 🤣 I have to ask him twice so he realizes I talk to him. He is very blunt, sometimes too a point I feel intimidated but when I speak out about something he said worries me, he explains he didn't mean it that harshly. I have a use to be very harsh as well or blunt. Why talking around something when u can say straight what is the problem. If there r things we can't talk out loud we write letters or use what's app to express thoughts or wishes. We both r shy about our thoughts. That's why it's helpful we use writing. He is very open with his emotions, at least to me, because he knows I listen him out and I am not judging him for how he feels and we talk about why he feels about certain things this or that way. I understand him most of the time, but if I don't understand his point I ask more information. I am deeply interested in him. I admire he can stand his ground without compromising or getting overwhelmed like me by bad emotions. If he thinks something is unfair or wrong he will fight for his values but he is not offended someone opens his mind for other views or teaches him better. He can admit when he's wrong though in a funny way "u r right, but I don't want to admit it, why u have to be right?" and laughs. A lot intps seem to be peacocking or a bit arrogant because they know they possess intelligence and tend to be angry about people's actions what make them believe most of population is dumb. Dumber as they r at least. And yet my fiance tends to call himself stupid and me extremely smart. I goes extremes. Either he is overly confident or overly humble.
Either he shys away or he acts rude. So on and on. Very extreme character. He tends to make rushed decisions that proves unnecessary because he wants to do something right without talking to me and it sometimes backfires. I am adventurous but I don't like taking risks, he is very impulsive though has a problem with new situation, it gives him anxiety. Yet we know each other and get out of our comfort zones for each other and it always pays off. I heard that a lot people tend to say intp infp relationships r difficult and I can not fully disagree but I also can't fully agree. Every relationship has its problems. I really love his passionate impulsive intelligent mannerisms. We laugh a lot together, we feel bad together and comfort each other, we defend each other, we rely on each other and trust each other. A lot people talk about intps as if they r like feeling robots, I can't admit. At least my fiance is extremely full with emotions and is very romantic and charming, kind and cute. He sometimes gets shy, gosh it's so adorable! I think it's true when it's said that an emotional intelligent intp and rational infp works together nicely. He gives me space when I need it but I try to get back on him as fast as possible because I know he is bored and feels lonely without me. So usually I stay up a bit longer after he went to sleep and spend my alone time. Or have my alone time while he's working and I am free from work. Or we r together but do different things and just enjoy feeling the presence of each other. We r both turbulent btw. So we both r extreme in our behavior kinda. We r overwhelmingly in our love, weirdest in our weird moments and... I don't know. Besides when I have a low and feel stressed we r both very happy together. There r things I wanna work on. Ah, and some said that the intp talks a lot about what is going on inside their heads and Infp might be overwhelmed by it. Idk. I talk to me partner every day, sometimes more and sometimes less, for 3 and a half years now and I never felt overwhelmed or that he is babbling through processes. I rather enjoy when he finally talks because he tends to be more silent than me, listening to me a lot. I love talking philosophy, economy, science, history, basicly everything. I listen, but I also have to say a lot to everything because my mind is constantly working on issues. We might not always have consensus and sometimes we have to leave a topic because he feels pissed or uncomfortable by what I say (not in a stupid way, I can be just very... Controversial... I poke my talking partners in a way they might feel hurt, idk why my head does that, maybe I think it's fascinating how people will defend their opinions and I trigger them to give me reasonable explanations instead of just saying "I think that's right wrong" yeah, why? Whyyyyy?).
Whatever I think infps and intps relationship can function pretty well if both r aware of the brain processes of each other.

Truth be told. Even if it hurts
I found the most accurate understanding of people by the 4 base temperaments in us all in various amounts manifesting and order of predominance providing for all diversity as described by Dr Hippocrates.
Meyers Briggs and others provide good supplementary information about the base 4
INFJ is actually melancholy dominant and sanguine secondary.
The variety in INFJ comes whether the 3rd temperament of predominance is choleric with phlegmatic last to produce INFJa, and if phlegmatic is 3rd and choleric last you get INFJp
INTJ is melancholy dominant and phlegmatic secondary, the 2 introverts having 1st and 2nd place in predominance.
This makes them a double introvert and the mastermind of things
INFJs are the masterminds of people and the emotional center ,the most extroverted introvert
INFP I think is the other double introvert with phlegmatic at 1st position.
This makes them the most introverted of all and possibly the weakest physically.
Show me a liberal or communist mind and I'll show you a predominant phlegmatic.
The weakest body has the least awareness and subject to gender confusion as well.
The weakest person would rather have a tyrannical dictator freeing these weaklings from having to take any position or having the responsibility of making decisions on their own.
Look at the world we live in today and you will see an era of phlegmatic influence.
Thanks or no thanks, the computer age gave the shy phlegmatic a.voice in the world on a level never before experienced in history.
May god help us as we submit to the tyrannical rule of the coming one world government.
Only for a season, then Christ returns to make things right

Unhealthy intps can come across as aliens lacking social manners and feelings. Though healthy intps channelize their ability of problem solving to the areas of life where they do better for themselves and others.
I was awkward and weird but always had typical intp abilities. I used same abilities to develop empathy and consideration which exponentially improved my social life and emotional intelligence. This also calmed my anxiety and depression and I feel more free and strong in social situations.
One thing is still constant though. I don't validate people's complaints if they don't want me to help them in solving their problems. I have no time for or any interest in useless bickering about totally irrational stuff.
