Kansas had an 11-1 record after their loss to Missouri, I don’t know how they were not picked over LSU for the national championship game. It should’ve been Ohio State vs Kansas.
@@jasonrogers6454 Not really. They beat Virginia Tech, and VT was in the discussion for the title game until they lost to Boston College. They were still a top 5 team, and KU led that game from the start. '07 KU and Mizzou were pretty evenly matched. I personally think KU was a little better. But they got off to a bad start with a usually steady kicker missing a couple of easy FGs, and Todd Reesing uncharacteristically underthrowing what should have been an easy TD, but instead ended up as a pick. I believe they were out their two best OL in that game and Pinkle decided to blitz all game to take advantage and it worked. '08 Mizzou was probably the better team, but KU pulled off the W. That's how that rivalry went though. Who the better team was usually did not matter.

KU may or may not have been better than MU in 2007, but in the one game they played, they looked outclassed for most of the game. They had no strong wins to point to in the argument for a spot in NCG.

In 2009 they only started 5-0 because they had a terrible non conference schedule then got to play terrible Iowa state in the 5th game of the season. I had front row seats to this game. Randomly pulled the best seat out of the student section. Drove there overnight to be at the front of college game day. What a wild fucking day.
