    Miltech devs if you are reading this my number 1 piece of feedback would be we NEED an option to spawn in parking spot with the wings / blades STOWED! I love a long startup process and definitely would love to unfold the wings and props as part of the startup.

    Thoroughly enjoyable video... While I strive for the soft landings also; I find slamming it down that last foot or so mitigates the moving ship issues. What can you do? "Fly the plane to the ground..." Anyway, I was also having a bit of fun this weekend trying out low level "dust off" flights. Come in hot and land as fast as possible, "load the wounded" and get out ASAP... Seeing how fast you can transition those props and keep everything else under control turns into a challenge. (Keep crashes turned on! lol )

      @@cgaviator My guess is due to the custom code the aircraft is running to allow VTOL to work. I notice the same behavior in the IndiaFoxTecho F35. Hopefully with the next sim update adding helicopters and gliders both devs will have better code to work with and make the flight dynamics more real!

    Will you give the dev feedback to improve the flight model? The textures needs some love, too - the black cockpit (metal) textures seems to be non-existent, i think it should be visible in 1440p despite the compression. The aliasing is bad at some edges and it has this optical distortions inside the cockpit (not sure if its the headtracking). Otherwise it looks like another great way of airsurfing! Looking forward to see how development progresses. THX 💙

      Yeah it’s a Harpers Ferry class LSD, due to the C-RAM being on top of the bridge as opposed to in front of it like on Whidbey island class LSDs. I had something really interesting and curious happen with the F15 the other day, playing on Xbox series x with failures turned off for context. Turned off because on Xbox if you select one to happen it happens immediately before takeover no matter when you set it to happen.
    Anyway I way flying the F15 and organically one or the engines suddenly died and I got a oil pressure warning light!. Wasn’t out of fuel so yea I had an organic engine failure without failures enabled, which was pretty damn cool!. Trying to get it restarted and having to land quick incase the other failed, really interesting!.

    • @cgaviator
      @cgaviator  ปีที่แล้ว

      Love it when that happens! Were you low on fuel before the engine failed per chance? The F18 shots one down automatically. Not sure about the F15. Other option is you have a HOTAS button bound to engine off perhaps? Of course, all that said, it could just have failed! 😂

    • @dejavuking
      @dejavuking ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cgaviator Hey no yea (no yea 😂). Had about 65% fuel left I have a button bound to thrust reverses but that just cuts the power to idle on my stick. It could have been something I unknowingly did but I’m pretty sure it just failed 🤷‍♂️. Interestingly it happened after the recent update not the 40th anni but the sim update the other week.
      It would be just interesting and fun if they implemented that as a feature true organic and unexpected random failures. Not ever flight just random, like with assetto Corsa competition (gt3 race sim) suddenly a tyre will blow or the gearbox heat will start increasing etc which makes it unpredictable which is fun.

      Oh no that’s real world. I should also of added that any auto stabilisation modes should be deselected immediately after landing and engaged immediately before T/O. Otherwise the helo stabilisation try’s to stop the ship moving. What is particularly interesting is if the helo heading hold is engaged and the ship turns! The helo try’s to maintain the heading and can skip across the deck. Don’t know anything about the Osprey but the Sea King was prone to this.

    Nicely done, fascinating departure from standard flight. Does this operate like a helicopter ie cyclic and collective with rudder/torque? or like a standard aircraft? How do you change the angle of the nacelles and add power at the same time if your hands are fully occupied? I assume the props/rotors are contra-rotating to balance and as you said elsewhere via a gearbox, but how do you go backwards, reverse thrust? without a major change or rapid descent? It has certainly got my "normal flight "theory mind boggling. Does it have two throttles so that you can increase power one side to go sideways or at angles in reverse. Totally got my mind working overtime, i thought "heck you would need many hands to do all that". and "brain overload" if i think conventionally. Incredible graphics too. It was a distinct pleasure to watch. Would be amazing if they brought out a program that covered the aircraft of the RAF memorial flight Spitfire, Hurricane, Lancaster, Mosquito, Westland Whirlwind, Gladiator type of idea for you to fly, or the Skyraider, Hunter, Gnat, Canberra, V bombers, Phantom. Lightning, Buccaneer, Tornado, then of course the future aircraft proposed for the follow on after the F-35 and Typhoon. So many great aircraft in RAF history. Thanks once again, loved it.
    Sad to see the recent loss of 6 great airmen in the Dallas tragedy. RIP gentlemen, a reminder of the courage of all aviators to even leave terra firma and keep us safe, a salute to all who fly for us, that we often take for granted.

    • @cgaviator
      @cgaviator  ปีที่แล้ว

      Skyraider, spitfire and F35 are available. Phantom and Lancaster are in progress. There’s also a good P38! As for the Osprey, from my understanding it’s very flybywire. There’s only one ‘collective’ and I believe nacelles can be automated in the real aircraft. In this model I assigned the key for nacelle angle to a thumb switch on my throttle. It’s still a juggle but it’s a fight I’m winning mostly! And finally yes, such an awful accident.

      @@cgaviator Now that is great news, i must look into them, thanks also for the information on the Osprey. I have tried the P-38 on another sim really enjoyed that, i tried flying off an aircraft carrier the way Doolittle did with the B-25s, fully loaded with rockets and ordnance, flaps full, full power plus WEF War Emergency Power, hold it on the brakes, then off we go, worked a treat, when timing as the bow of the ship rose, bit dodgy if i got it wrong heading towards the sea, got "feet wet" a few times lol. I did get a surprise in a steep dive when the controls locked and i could not get out of the dive and the sim said "you are now the victim of a phenomenon called "compressibility" quite a lesson as i found by research that it WAS what cost a lot of pilots their lives until they modified the elevator. I think i might add P-38 to my list too along with Skyraider. Thanks again.

      @robshirewood5060 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cgaviator I did not know that about supersonic flight. Thanks for the update on the P-38. I did hear somewhere that the Lysander originally had a problem with the traditional elevators which killed a few pilots but it was modified to all moving which greatly improved the aircraft especially at low speed, not sure if i got that totally right. I guess that it would make great difference when "popping over to France for a jolly with some popsie and picking up a froggy" as one RAF veteran said to me when i asked him what he did in ww2. He was hedge hopping, at night, navigating into a tiny field, to drop off and pick up SOE, he said the new tailplane made it much easier to do a steep, slow approach. A Lysander sim with night scenarios, "Moonstrike" operations would be another "twitcher" dodging hedgerows, barbed wire, fences, cows, and anti glider poles like he did, looking for torches as landing signals. I was so amazed and then later an RAF pilot who trained on powered aircraft and was posted to a Horsa glider squadron of the GPR and Arnhem and the Rhine crossing then fighting on the ground, I never knew they did that, the Army said they were superb in both roles. I flew gliders as a cadet but when i saw a full size Horsa ......mouth open Oh my God. So now i will shut up as I did then. Thanks. All the best, stay safe.

I’ll update this comment if I establish if it’s a bug or a one off!… ahhh.
    Update, I quit the game and restarted it, my profile was still gone deleted, but oddly some of my button bindings had reverted to the default profile, but others haven’t… like my cockpit pov settings have all changed, my thrust reverse has gone. To make it worse I clicked create new profile mapped all my buttons clicked save…. Went into a flight and bang again gone, went into settings and the profile was again gone.. apart from the default profile.
    Next I made a duplicate of the default, changed some buttons, went into a flight and yep again duplicate deleted gone!. The game will not let me create custom or duplicate controller profiles now, it lets me save them but doesn’t!. Ahhhh this game is so bug ridden.
